QUOTE(mynewuser @ Jun 5 2009, 11:12 PM) Dear all, do this piece of news will improve any counter in our bursa? The reality of the fact is Malaysia is upbeat about China but China is not really upbeat about Malaysia.http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/business-ne...-says-musa.html IMO, China trades with Malaysia is minuscule compares to other countries. China investment in Malaysia is only about US135 million compared to Malaysia investment in China is about US1.4 billion. Yes, Malaysia needs China more than China needs Malaysia now. China investments in Malaysia brings few jobs whereas Malaysian companies investment in China brings more jobs over there. Only those multinationals profit more and they're keeping their money in China at the moment. Truth of the matter is Malaysia govt over all these years has been ignoring China and only until lately because of this economic down turn when US/Europe are not buying as much, Malaysia has no choice but to face the 800 pound gorilla in this neighborhood. Will this Gorilla notice or is he playing lip service to the new administration in Malaysia? Like others, Malaysia can join at the end of the line knocking at China door begging for investments and businesses. This post has been edited by danmooncake: Jun 6 2009, 12:23 AM |

Like others, Malaysia can join at the end of the line knocking at China door begging for investments and businesses. But Najib didn't spend four days there - along with all his MCA/Gerakan coalition buddies and assorted hangers-on - for no reason. He was obviously on a sales trip. But - for what? O&G contracts? Automotive? If we could figure out his angle in this trip and identify the counter that may benefit we could make some moola. Sime, it ain't. IMHO. Najib is not dumb comercially: he's trying to place Malaysia between the Arab/Muslim/Islam world as a favoured cousin/investment destination but he also realises that the "800 pound" Panda to the North has everyone by the goolies - if it wants. Getting the scales to balance is the 'art' of politics. |

Weekend debrief:
Well, seems like DJ did end up a few points higher at Friday closing. But, NASD lost a few points.. but NASD still ends up higher this week due to the run up by Apple (AAPL). Good old AAPL, can't bet against this company - now that Steve Jobs is coming back. Oil did went up higher intially and cross over $70 mark but back down quickly. Mostly because USD didn't tank this time but remains in positive territory against the EU and GBP. Overall, I believe Oil still kinda high (closed above $68) with plenty of inventory at world market. IMO, this temporary surge in commodity Oil price won't last.. and we'll see a correction shortly. How's this will translate to commodity stocks for KLSE next week? Dunno yet.. KLSE usually have to wait until Tuesday (which I'm sure some people here hates) to seek further direction. |

Yes, 100% agree with you.HK surges more than 50% . STI is doing pretty ok. Bursa only up less than 30%. Some more people say too high odeli. Maybe they may want to depress the market to about 900 pts and buy This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Jun 6 2009, 11:28 AM |

Of course, people talking about the bears since 850 pts, the bear surely would come one day.
But some stocks odeli up 100% , since the repeating sayings ( of the bear market ) days in days out., and not getting tired ? Do not think of many opportunities you miss since the 850 pt days , than the bear you are always fearful of ? By the way, foreign ownership in Bursa listed cos is about 31% ( figure given by Bursa boss last week ). So cannot claim there is no FF in Malaysia.
