DJ futures pop up higher tonight.

US unemployment number claims for May is less than expected but total percentage
has surged above 9.4%.

Market look past unemployment numbers and surging ahead again.
Very counter-intuitive. doh.gif

Oil pops above $70 now.. shakehead.gif

Oh well., it seems to be green again for this weekend. wink.gif

DJ pop, oil pop, everything pop even though unemployment rising because.... the unemployed people turning to the stock/commodity/whatever to make money.
*
Sooner or later, reality will kick in.. unemployment will need to be reduced for true economic
growth. Market cannot go up all the way. I think this market now is a bit overbought.
We will see another pullback soon. nod.gif

Time to prep up for short list for next week trade. brows.gif

Dear all, do this piece of news will improve any counter in our bursa?

The reality of the fact is Malaysia is upbeat about China but China is not really upbeat about Malaysia.
IMO, China trades with Malaysia is minuscule compares to other countries.
China investment in Malaysia is only about US135 million compared to Malaysia investment in China
is about US1.4 billion. Yes, Malaysia needs China more than China needs Malaysia now.

China investments in Malaysia brings few jobs whereas Malaysian companies investment in China brings more
jobs over there. Only those multinationals profit more and they're keeping their money in China at the moment.

Truth of the matter is Malaysia govt over all these years has been ignoring China
and only until lately because of this economic down turn when US/Europe are not buying as much,
Malaysia has no choice but to face the 800 pound gorilla in this neighborhood.

Will this Gorilla notice or is he playing lip service to the new administration in Malaysia?
Like others, Malaysia can join at the end of the line knocking at China door begging for investments and businesses. shakehead.gif

Weekend debrief:

Well, seems like DJ did end up a few points higher at Friday closing. But, NASD lost a few points.. but NASD still ends up higher this week due to the run up by Apple (AAPL). Good old AAPL, can't bet against this company - now that Steve Jobs is coming back.

Oil did went up higher intially and cross over $70 mark but back down quickly. Mostly because USD didn't tank this time but remains in positive territory against the EU and GBP. Overall, I believe Oil still kinda high (closed above $68) with plenty of inventory at world market. IMO, this temporary surge in commodity Oil price won't last.. and we'll see a correction shortly.

How's this will translate to commodity stocks for KLSE next week? Dunno yet.. KLSE usually have to wait until Tuesday (which I'm sure some people here hates) to seek further direction.

If margin, the brokerage is the shark.
They'll still bite the borrower on interest. wink.gif

Anyway, since March.. we're already on the uptrend and little bulls are already running around.
It is best to plan on going long instead of short term 'goreng'.

Of course.. it will come down..

But I don't think we will revisit lows in March anymore.
Now, we're on Higher High, Higher Low trend.

Every pullback is the opportunity to jump in and go long.

Why? Because those hedge funds were sitting at the sidelines are going and when they go in..
stocks will pull up even higher. Don't miss the boat. nod.gif

Knowing Dow, it might even close at green. I remember doing a countdown once at 3.40 am. It was down 40-60 pts. Then last 10 minutes shoot up to 100pts. This Dow worse than KLCI. Really cannot bank hope on. Hahahhaa.

DOW 8,685.29Ā  Ā  -77.84 (-0.89%)

Omores:

You HIT the nail on the head!!. DJ did close slightly higher.. 1.36 points.small number but still GREEN!. rclxms.gif

The bulls are not letting this go.. too many buyers at the sidelines wanting to go long (me included tongue.gif ).
The last hour of trading, bulls push up higher than last week close.

Every time that is a pullback, opportunity here to dive in and accumulate more.. man. we are greedy!
I bought some calls today.

AAPL (Apple) - my favorite tech stock tank today.. I was expecting Steve Job to appear and give this ticker a push at the developer world conference but people sold off instead. sad.gif But, I do like their announcement of the US$99 iPhone.. making it more affordable, thus increasing market share.

Oh well. GL tomorrow trading @ KLSE.

My Kinstel is queued to dump tomorrow at 97.5 (IIRC) - or is that KNM??? hmm.gif
Anyway - both counters are toast for me tomorrow.
Sitting on some OK gains....so where to put the dosh??
Futures market maybe.... hmm.gif

I don't know about you guys playing at KLSE,.. but
for my counters NYSE: X (US Steel) and NYSE: MT (Arcelor Mittal), they're pretty bullish about China
BUYING more... not dumping based on the recent news.

OK, view respected. But, honestly, around Mar 2009, Sapcrest was 0.61 and Alam was 0.66. So, when they hit 1.50+, I lari cepat cepat. Look at the volume, of course we need the Fund Managers and EPF to goreng lah. So, they have to produce the reports  drool.gif

In fact, I am going to follow the ELI counters. These ELI counters are the one that the fund Managers goreng.

It sounds crazy but Oil is going to near $90 by September/October. Cannot fight OPEC-lah! They control the keys and tap.
If Oil price too low, they turn off and tighten production, therefore Oil price will go up. They already tighten since January and
price is slowing making into the market.

Opec wants oil to be minimum at $75/barrel, this way, they can make money and start more Oil exploration.
Definitely bullish for Oil!

Watching the moves up at Nymex again this morning, OIL crossed above the $71/barrel now.
This is crazy momentum!! doh.gif

We are now in this endless bid for this black gold.. Goldman Sach prediction could be right.. by end of this year, we can see it pop to $80/$90. If it goes back above $100 like last year.. it will definitely slow down global economy recovery.

Be prepare for higher prices and inflation again.. nod.gif

If compare to those big players, epf, khazanah, local/foreign fund manager,  syndicate group..
most of the ikan bilis power cant hold the stock price from going down if huge selling happen.... they will lost big time if didn't cut lost and stay sideline till the slaughter ends...

Ask those experienced remisers or uncles/aunties tat play stock during the financial crisis 1997/1998... most of them lost big times.
"Yen Wang" money all gone... sweat.gif
*
Ha! That's true. Ten years ago, those uncles/aunties were greedy and they got slaughtered.
Now, the younger generation probably repeating same mistakes.. but they do have better tools now, online trading, the
Internet and this may allow them to swim a bit faster to escape the sharks and big whale from gobbling them up but
still, they still consider as lunch to those bigger fish. biggrin.gif

DJ gave back a little today.. -24.04. No more bullish momentum for today.
Oil price went lower than $72 but retains gain above $71. Quite a few
traders felt Oil is overbought for now with little fundamentals support,
should be ripe for shorting.

Will KLSE traders take profits in AM to lock in gains? Sure, why not? biggrin.gif
