DO you buy Tanjong one full lot 1000 shares or prefer to break them into piece-buying?
*
1000 shares is much easier to manage for me. May be average break it to 500 shares each, so that can access at various level.

Transmil is like FedEx, TNT, etc. I didn't study in detail on this company as it money losing company...
*
Transmile is different than Fedex.

Transmile owns a few plane that use for logistic purpose like handling Post Malaysia mail etc and earn from providing the services.

QUOTE(moorish @ Jun 10 2009, 02:03 PM)
actually when oil price go up all this transport related comp should kena right
*
Kena or not doesn't mean much to Transmile, as it is still a losing making company until now, turn around not yet to be seen. Just it could resolve its current debt problem to struck some deal with creditors based on last time some articles.

It is still bleeding money every Q severely.

I recall Transmile do cargo shipments and have quite a number of landing rights in China, even MAS don't have it. Also, it does cargo for Pos to Sabah/Sarawak hub. Not sure about latest status now.
*
Yup, its landing right is the valuable asset of the company, if not Pos Malaysia and Kouk won't be interested in it already.

At current status, they need to sell their plane to pay off the debt, no one will dare to lend money to a bleeding business company.

i dont have oil related stock in my portfolio  unsure.gif
*
Oil related or oil servicing company which majority listed in KLSE won't be directly or 100% benefit from higher oil price. Yes they do benefit from it, but not fully, only the basic raw material producers like Exxon, BHP, Rio Tinto will benefit the most.

Oil servicing company depended on new oil field infrastructure/ new investment to gain most of it. But current scenario is oil price going up but amount of demand is not in pace with the oil price. So there is no push or full force of needed for newer oil field.

They will be benefitted the most when economy recover when demand is actually picking up and grow fast.

Fund managers are disposing. Tanjong is at losing end with oil price rising, as it involves in a lot of power generation bsuiness including overseas like Egypt.

drool.gif Everyone's greedy now. Stock price rising depends on Greed. Correction only happens when FEAR comes along. As long as traders are GREEDY, who cares whether oil prices going up is supplemented by demand or not? That's my take from stock market educational experience so far. smile.gif

Yalor, market is greedy mode, not that healthy, me also turns greedy, no good. biggrin.gif

Ha! That's true.  Ten years ago, those uncles/aunties were greedy and they got slaughtered.
Now, the younger generation probably repeating same mistakes.. but they do have better tools now, online trading, the
Internet and this may allow them to swim a bit faster to escape the sharks and big whale from gobbling them up but
still, they still consider as lunch to those bigger fish.  biggrin.gif
*
I can 99% assure you, people always making the same mistake again and again even though they experienced it before. It is a norm or market behaviour. icon_rolleyes.gif

Lately, the several limit up has signalled ikan bilis is in full force and come in herd.

Btw, DJ movement is worrying, cannot hold on any opening gain in quick way.

QUOTE(nujikabane @ Jun 10 2009, 11:04 PM)
Guys, usually the stock picks mentioned here are usually from the Main Board. What about MESDAQ ? Aren't there any good stocks to pick? Price wise, it is much cheaper than those in Main Board, even though they have no track record to prove their worth.
*
No proven track record means we don't know how company will be doing at all.
It is purely a guess game.

No proven track record is kind of dangerous to play with. Although some may turns good. It is totally different than Nasdaq whereby Nasdaq at least got some big name strong company listing. While in Mesdaq, generally we have a lot of "mosquito" company. No offence.
Also a lot of Mesdaq company only have several hundred thousand up to a millions or so of revenue or profit every Q which a lot of ordinary company out there even some kopitiam also can achieve those kind of revenue.

Also some may treat the listing as a way to dispose their shares only and raise money through public, we also don't know. sweat.gif

There is no regulation imposed on Mesdaq company the profit level, track record etc in order to list, as long as they have sponsor behind the listing and being approved by KLSE. If not mistaken, I might be wrong.

Not mean to say Mesdaq company is not good or good.
Judge your own.

My view only.

How long do you intend to keep your Tanjong? Would you sell contra  "IF" price reach 13.50 tomorrow?
*
Keep for dividend play only. Will sell if dividend yield is not attractive anymore.
I don't think it can go up in near term, they (fund managers) have lot in their hand which needed to be cleared.

After all, just part of reinvestment on dividend received lately from reits.

I simply cannot find any key developments that caused this. Maybe insider knows. brows.gif  As what Cherroy said, fund managers sell to take profit.
Maybe its rotational clearance every six months or so as u mentioned. The last time it dropped in Dec 2008 was about 19 trading days downtrend. Today already 11 days downtrend.
*
Could be downgraded by some investment banks due to high refinancing cost, IPP businesses.

Some fund managers do work based on investment grade movement.

Tanjong main business is actually IPP, not purely gaming as IPP revenue is larger than gaming.
Anything related can be discussed at Tanjong's thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1056177/+2

Dialog director dump shares, maybe thats why price came down?
*
KNM directors also dump some minor stake. Seems like they view share price is rising too fast and too much in short period of time.

KLCI at 1100 has little room for upside in near term (may be another 20-50 points due to momemtum), unless we see major spike in CPO price or economy recover and growing robust again. Longer term different story.
Because we look across the KLCI major components, their valuation is not that cheap anymore. Plantation stocks price are at high side with CPO below 2500. GLCs having their difficulty financially.
While foreign participation is low.

Just my view.

*
It is not wise for individual investors to be in a position of 100% or 0% cash.

Just my experience. Some asset allocation is needed all the time because we don't know how exactly the market play out as we cannot time the market.

Buy or sell stocks is about shifting whether you are heavy on stocks or light on it. It is not wise to sell all the stocks unless you are holding goreng stocks only.

Just my view and experience tell me.

Now bull is due to crude oil prices. Bulls are now hoping that palm oil will go up with higher inventories from plantation companies. Fear of them not producing enough is gone. Hoping for el nino too.

I'm just not buying any more stocks outside of O&G and may get into plantation when further dips is seen. Current portfolio is very long term. Only goreng i do is with futures.

*
Everyone know inventories even crude oil is at high side.
We have plenty supply and lot of spare production capacity.
Plantation company are purposely not put in too much fertilizers to save cost (fertilizers cost a lot) which intention to yield lower fruit or production.

Fertilizers base raw material come from urea. Urea base raw material come from natural gas.

It is the paper money and market expectation that doing the dirty job leading higher price currently not the actual demand of consumption.
