if towards the evening a bit difficult i think la... maybe under bright sun it'll be easier as u dont really have to worry about underexposing ya shots... btw, what was ur shutter speed for that Perodua Kancil GTR?

speed 40 in m mode; i feel that the blurring backgroud is depend on how fast the hand constantly move and accuracy of focus to car. of ourse need suitable shutter speed hmm.gif very interesting

honestly, im not to sure on how much depth of field there should be for panning shots... but i think because ur shutter speed was 1/40 ur kancil seemed to look as if it was moving fast!... i bet you had to move a lot to make sure the shot was sharp... so, maybe if under proper lighting conditions, you could use a higher f number to ensure the whole car is in focus, use highers shutter speeds so you do not have to move to much, and a lower ISO to keep noise at bay... result, i think shud be good...

erm, just now i try f1.7 expected to get bokeh in spanning shot (stupid mind concept sweat.gif ) but with fast shutter speed not able to produce spannig shot.

err... i guess u trying to say "panning" rite...

u wanna do a continuous/burst mode?? sure can....
actually u need to move the camera in direction of ur subject moving...
try move at the same acceleration of ur subject...

if u wanna try it...  go shutter priority around 1/30s... turn off SSS...
move ur camera + press shutter + follow ur subject...

thx. when fix shutter speed at 1/30 or 1/40, how to compemsate if lack/over of light when the | is not centre and also how to make the bar always centre, u know as shoot panning shot, when camera moving follow the object speed, then the quantity of light enter to camera also keeping chaging...should panning shot shoot in m mode or s mode..

jimlim007: Of course, panning works in continuous shot mode.

It only meters for when you half-press. You do not have to pan over a large distance.

Just got back from Super GT. Dead tired and sun burnt like mad. LOL. Anyway both kitlens performed horribly, so had to rely on a 50mm I have. Have to crop alot and slightly magnify. ):

50mm shoot gtr, enough zooming?
