Have you actually tried using the 24-70? I dunno about you but I find it kinda frustrating having the 24mm on the aps-c. It's not nearly wide enough. 18mm is ok. For aps-c I would love to have 16mm (i.e. 24mm on the FF). If you really do not mind it starting at 24mm then i guess it's ok.
annoying it is.

at least Alpha is 1.5x.

EOS is 1.6x biggrin.gif even less wide.

while I'm fine with 24 range, it's just sometimes annoying. like when I was covering a wedding dinner, i have to step back from an otherwise fine position if i was on 18mm range.

stepping back mean not only i have to find space but that also means that all those auntie and uncle with outstretched arm and a phone in their hand could end up blocking.

Shazril, you failed to understand your subject. (in ref to the shot posted)

by understanding the subject, you need to know where is the ANGLE that shows it's beauty. in this case, your angle was horrible. nice bokeh isn't going to help. there's no compositional value, nor does the shot highlight the subject in interesting way.

snapping flower, you should try to come from a higher angle, or at least one that's showing the "front" of it.

my style is i be courteous to allow them to snap first la, but the problem is sometimes the family on the stage doing toast and all, once they're done and the moment gone. then how?

so no choice, have to balance lor. i try try la. make the rest know that "OIHH, i da OP here! gimme ma way!"

Added on June 14, 2009, 12:03 amlj0000 that's artistic. what you can try is turn it BW or something, or duo-toned. then play with contrast and add vignetting. biggrin.gif try and see what you can get.

from what i remember (sorry not Alpha user) the A200 / A300 / A350 has that directional controller, the one at the AF button.

user posted image

that's the change the AF point, right?

after raist86 posted i go check out on A230.....

user posted image

that's like so stripped!

so raist86, that's what you're saying right? don't have that directional control already.

The D-pad controls is still there. Just that you cannot shift the focus point quickly like you can on a200, 300 and 350. That's the major blow for the new cam.. Instead of making things intuitive, they've gone and create a more complicated interface where you need to access the Fn button to change even a simple thing like selecting an AF point.

It's very very obvious that they are cutting cost on the a230, 330 and 380 (all based on the same body) by reducing the number of buttons to access each function. Now instead of a dedicated iso button, it's relegated to the D-Pad on the main body..

Added on June 14, 2009, 1:03 amEven my girlfriend who has a pair of tiny hands (compared to mine) found it hard to hold the a330 for long period of time.. Keep saying hand feels cramped..
based on what you posted, let's hope A700 replacement doesn't screw up la.

i look at the new range, same MP also. now with your feedback, now only question left is on the improvement of image processing.

i think what he meant with the word DOWNGRADE is that the supposed replacement model is not as good as the one being replaced.

now that you mentioned, the useless site that's not updated actually has it! biggrin.gif

edited : i blame the site for misleading me. biggrin.gif http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores...552921644548357

oo .. haha .. biggrin.gif .. nope .. i dont have both .. i am thinking either 2.8 or 4 .. most probably f4 IS ..

actually, a week ago, I bought for a 70-200 f4 IS and the shop gave me f2.8 IS instead .. tongue.gif .. the box, manual and all for f4 IS .. only the lens itself is f2.8 IS .. Yesterday, after a week, the shop called me and said he gave the wrong item .. tongue.gif .. he said, he will give me free filter if I return it...

i dont know either wanna return it or not .. haha .. tongue.gif .. on the receipt, it stated that "Goods sold are not returnable/exchangable/refundable" .. haha .. tongue.gif .. most probably i will return it ..

or what do you think guys?
i suppose this is the case?

i'd say be upright and honor their request. biggrin.gif

the "Goods sold are not returnable/exchangable/refundable" is for cases like you buy already but decide not to keep, or decide don't like and want to swap other things, or whatever that's not fair to them. biggrin.gif
