QUOTE(QuickFire @ Jul 7 2009, 11:31 PM)
Indeed.

I'm also perplexed as to how the humour in TF2 is similar to the humour in V For Vendetta and Saving Private Ryan.
*
now now quickfire lets take that in context shall we? i asked gogo2 if those were serious movies or not? secondly i felt the jokes in them are average laymen joke, i didnt find them intellectually high that has to be pondered awhile to get, and finally i never said the humour is similar,if in any instance i said that, you can point it out if you wish.

Transformers 2 is lame. people who defend it are blind and stupid. 200 reviewers giving an average of 21% cant be wrong. your opinon does not matter because you guys are the average nobody with blind obsession for either robots and girls.
*
woooo, reviewers are god and hey they could never be wrong about a movie that has has grossed 600Mill in under 12 days. 200 versus millions of "nobody"people who actually likes it, i dont know its tough to call.

i dont know, somehow the highest grossing movie relates to the people's sign of approval that it appealed to them. oh now its being Malaysian and have no taste correlates, coming from someone who comments on something totally unrrelated to this thread that talks about halal or haram?

Funny thing is, a forum frequented by socalled pious muslims in cari gold.com has lots of HYIP promotions and even a subforum solely dedicated to that. HYIP is a Ponzi game, aka gambling. Winner takes the money from new players.

Should we report them to JAIS?
that's because it was riding on the success of Transformers. the later iterations sucks so bad, you fans have no taste.

I just noticed this reply.

I didn't say this movie is shitty nor too awesome. I said it's a fun movie to watch. You don't need to think anything else while riding a rollercoaster, because it's fun and supposed to be fun only by riding it.
*
she assumed that since the critics pit it at 19%, and that translates the movie being shitty you should might as well embrace it since critics have the the final say and their conclusion is valid and not up for scrutiny.

TF2 --> 19%

Majority said TF1 is better than TF2. I also said the same.

Whoever said TF2 is good are low quality audience and is sending message to movie maker that there's
low quality audience out there looking for shitty action movie.

and how many of those represent the general public that went into the theaters thus far around the world? How can it be a mojority when it doesnt represent everybody else?

Ebert has a journal entry today which I pretty much agree.
http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2009/07/i_am_a_brainiac.html

The people who love TF2 simply have not watched enough movies. That or they simply do not like movies enough. I do think everyone has the occasional foray into utter bad taste, but I cant understand how any film fan can love this movie.
*
Courtesy from Nelson , he says it better to summarize Ebert's attempt at lashing at those who dont find his opinions ermm, how should i put it? hold water? thats about right.

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Jul 9 2009, 12:04 AM)
Majority of reviewers said that TF1 > TF2. Reviewers is someone who is more critical of movie.

And if you think reviewers of TF2 is wrong, means, reviewers of TF1 also wrong. Does that means TF2 > TF1? Of course
not. If there's slight amount of critical mind in yourself, you should be able to think that TF1 indeed > TF2. And thus, the
reviewers in TF2 is correct to give 19% which is pretty bad movie compare to TF1.
*
hell if i follow your logic,i'd say im not worthy of synthesizing a fictional story about some alien robotic species fighting on earth and have to rely on someone else's ability to synthesize for me.

I feel the reviewers or critics if you may, are just doing their jobs, but they also differ in terms of their personal taste, liking and etc etc so in a sense not one critic can be the same with the other, how many of those who contributed to the 56% ratings actually contributed towards the 19% in the second movie? hell if i didnt know better 56% isnt a top notch score to begin with isnt it? so the reviewers werent really fond of the first movie either but the people liked it so, thats why at the end of the day the majority of the movie goers were happy with first one, at the end of the day its the accumulative sign of approval that determines whether the movie is good or bad, same goes when you vote for somebody for the elections, you wouldnt just base your judgement from a review will you?

whats with the people like me BS now? what does defending a movie or bashing it reflect what type of a person you are? dont tell me you have some social psychology logic to answer this? at least i know where i stand and maintained that it was fun for me because it somehoe honored most ideas of the past work and wasnt just sourced from one source only, i never claimed this movie to have a critic worthy storyline to begin with, and up until people were coming up with comparisons on how this movie sucked compared to other movies like so and so, we were explaining about what happened in the movies one a scene to scene level, for the most part i was in that discussion. Also when it comes to this movie, you on the other hand suffer a case of indecisiveness, evident from the way you actually like the movie and argue how it doesnt follow the G1 cartoons,to saying all that doesnt matter,a movie should stand on its own, and subsequently bashing it all the way, and also if i remember correctly for a shitty movie like this you gave a 3/4 despite your claims its sucky all the way.

QUOTE(alanyuppie @ Jul 9 2009, 10:49 AM)
The decepticons (protoforms) doesn;t "simply" pick on a random earth city to land . The reason why some landed on Paris is to kidnap Sam's parents. Obviously when their "mission" is complete, there's no point staying in Paris... of course they head to the desert and literally dump their kidnapees there in front of Sam.

I rather the audience did some "intelligent" nitpicking like how Decepticons in (slow) construction vehicle mode able to travel to the desert so fast from Paris, rather than "what happened to them in Paris? Did the cons thrash the whole city?".

OK... additional stuff for those who "missed" the scene on how the hell the cons able to track Sam's parents down to Paris( i know eventually some would ask here... ,considering even obvious stuff being asked before).

Soundwave managed to track Sam's mom cellphone and called her up. She picked up the phone and treat it like a perverted call. This is where soundwave pinpointed their exactly location... and the protoforms landed... heading for them.
*
someone would ask why? since you came up with it so here goes, the older bots like Megatron,The fallen and Jetfire can use the space bridge for teleportation. Soundwave gives the coordinates to the fallen or Megatron so that he could teleport them to the desired location, and space bridge wasnt made up its a cybertronian technology which can be seen on the following adaptations, TF: Defiance,TF: All Hail Megatron, TF: The Reign of Starscream, TF: G1 and TF: War Within

yea and you cant even understand a simple phrase like this:

"space bridge wasnt made up its a cybertronian technology which can be seen on the following adaptations, TF: Defiance,TF: All Hail Megatron, TF: The Reign of Starscream, TF: G1 and TF: War Within"

i was just merely expounding the fact it was in those adaptations, examples of it, so now its wrong to say where did those scriptwriters get their source from, wait your first post you were arguing about why it didnt follow g1 conventions and even when i noted that in my list, you havent had enough eh? wait nah dont bother, you are just striving to get on my nerves. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif nice try, nice try.

Yes. But its alright since Bay want to portray Transformers as alien. I'm not sure how would it turn out if
TF1/TF2 robot looks like the one in G1. Erm  hmm.gif
*
what the.... they are aliens, its a known fact since the Takara toy making days, even before the Americans bought the whole franchise under Hasbro. They wouldnt follow G1 designs because its 2D,thats why its all boxy and stuff, If you want it to be relaistic, take prime for example you can see where the parts of the peterbilt truck is especially the engine block, tyres, exhaust pipes among other things, you cant hide all the this pipes and stuff it has to be realistic.

FYI, as adult, we don't laugh at lame/unnecessary joke unless you deserve lame joke. Which means, low quality audience deserve low
quality film.

i see alot of people(adults) laughing at Russel Peters and other comedians who base their material on lame stuffs, by your convention that by being adults means no laughing at lame/unnecessary joke, what should they laugh at then? even laughing also got guideline one meh or did you made that up just like this one:

QUOTE(xin @ Jul 9 2009, 02:26 PM)
It doesnt necessary to be upright, the triangle part is at the wings and from my observations. They can easily hide/fold the wings to make it appealling. I was not sure in TF1 but after Jetfire debuted in TF2, i am sure they can easily design Starscream to have a better outlook which can be similar to Jetfire. But i think they stick to the badguys less appealling formula.  laugh.gif
*
xin this is because Jetfire alternate mod is a SR 71 Blackbird which has a longer cockpit then the F22 Raptor thats almost triangle like. The Sr 71 makes jetfire taller so his wings are not prevalent like starscream who is shorter and has a wider wing frame.

user posted image
you can see the wing reachers till the pilot cockpit.

user posted image
the wing is towards the end near the primary engine.

doh.gif  Hello. Russell Peters is a stand-up comedian. His shows are one joke after another. A movie has a story told in a particular tone, and whatever jokes it throws in has to be appropriate to both.

Also, you're wrong if you think Peters' jokes are lame. His material is based on a lot of human insight, and if you can't see that then you're... exactly the kind of person I think you are.  laugh.gif

*
i know its hard to grasp what im saying so please try to digest it one word at a time eh? He made a general assumption that:

QUOTE
FYI, as adult, we don't laugh at lame/unnecessary joke unless you deserve lame joke.

This is like saying as adults you cant play with toys anymore, which is an assumption that doenst make you the least bit less adult if you still wish to play with toys.If you cant see this is an act of generalization, i dont know what to say. So i replied by saying that if the given assumption above is true then any form of lame/unnecessary joke that exists elsewhere say for example like comedians materials and in this example russel peters comedic material, people who are generally adult shouldnt laugh at it.
