after joining, go to community tab in your steam client, join the group's chat. you can then join them easily from the list on the sidebar or the main chat window

Guys, I'm looking to reformat my computer into Windows 7. Do I need to do any backup of my current L4D2 game? I remember I read someone said the activation follows along with Steam Account. Then, when I reformatted, how would I re-install my L4D2? Just like from the beginning and that would be done?

Try to figure out a way to save your entire steamapps folder. If you have a way to do that...then you are good to go. You need to reinstall the steam client back to your fresh install and copy this steamapps over once done. Or you can copy just the specific game if you want to.

PS : Just as a tip, having a secondary hard disk as your steam(or whatever essential software) primary HD is a great idea. Keep windows on a separate HD. This way reformating and moving to a new PC is easy.

no need fresh install steam. waste time updating it only.

If you don't fresh install steam it wont be registered in the registry. Which is not the proper way how software's in the OS should be installed.

right-click game > backup game files ?

if you wanna backup your fav server list too then copy paste the masterserver.vdf and serverbrowser.vdf files from programfiles/steam/config folder

the proper fast way is to make a backup via steam function and copy the steam folder

after reformat, install steam, then copy the whole steam folder then run the backup u make ealier...

its a waste of space and time, but it install faster if u copy the file b4 start run the backup copy.

ah just learnt to never distract the tank with your body after finale finished, just gun it down from far so that u'll survive and not left by others in case u got incap
