what is scavenger mode ar?

A versus where's each team have to find all the gas tank and refill.
Same like Dead Centre Finale

Scavenger is good alternative to versus mode. I felt that versus mode can be very tedious cause it's very long~

Offical Left 4 Dead-Left 4 Dead 2 crossover coming in The Passing DLC

It's like The Justice Society and the Justice League teaming up. Valve has just announced plans for The Passing, the first downloadable mini-expansion for Left 4 Dead 2 as the new survivors of the zombie apocalypse meet up with the four characters in the first Left 4 Dead game.

Set after the events of the Left 4 Dead 2 campaign Dead Center, the new campaign storyline is set in Georgia and will not only have the two sets of teams meeting each other, but will also include new arenas for Survival, Scavenge and Versus Modes. There will also be a new (and so far unnamed) co-op challenge mode. The Passing will also add a new melee weapon, a new firearm, and a new "uncommon common" Infected. The Passing is due for release sometime this spring. There's no word yet if The Passing will be a free download for the PC version.

I sensed another Dead Centre Finale there.

Based on how they announced the first DLC for L4D, most likely.

Mahayyyy all the fill gas-tank mini-games are starting to pizz me off.

So their gameplay innovation = courier missions, fantastic.

wooohoo great news, L4d2 is already awesome, + new DLC is even better!

i know dont u get what i mean. we bought L4D, and one year later L4D2 is out, we bought it too, so now DLC should be free for those who bought l4d1 and 2

hmm all 35 e-club servers not even 1 for versus...., all for campaign normal but 1 for survival..

Yes, but its also an achievement in L4D2

Based on how L4D2 servers work, you can't even join a versus mode server alone. It will auto shutdown/restart because there is no one in the other team. All the e-Club servers are able to play all game types. However, the way you join has changed.

Here's how. You have to open a lobby first. But before that, open the console and type "sv_search_key eclub" (without the quotes). Then open your lobby and choose "Find best dedicated server". Once people have joined, you can start the game and the lobby will join one of the e-Club servers. The server will automatically change towards your game type (be it versus, realism, campaign or versus).
