QUOTE(Gormaz @ Nov 10 2009, 12:10 PM)
Out of curiosity I tried the demo yesterday too, I never played LoD1 before and never even checked on it that much.

I did the solo campaign with the bots and overall it was lots of fun, pretty good way to release pressure from an overstressed work week, shoot plenty of zombies.
I didnt find the difficulty to be pretty hard though, maybe I need to see if there is a way to put it higher (I did have some good experience in "twitchy" fps before but that was few years back).
Not sure how is the re playability though, does the map change each time? or at least the location of the special zombies?

Overall very good impressions for something I heard so much before but never saw by myself, I can see that being lots of fun online with other people (from what I understand, other human can play the zombies no? I am totally noob in LoD >_>). I could consider buying it but since I am now located in China, to get low ping would be too much of a pain.

You should try playing expert mode with other human players as it is way more challenging and fun to play in this mode. I find that the "AI Director" is very much random in expert mode. The location of when and where special infected zombies spawn are much more random this time. Even when and where the horde zombie stampede is also very random this time. Moreover, AI Director 2.0 is also capable of closing certain route/path forcing you to travel in certain dangerous or zombie infested path.

Valve also mention that the AI Director 2.0 is capable of throwing special infected "combos" at the players which I find it to be true from yesterday's demo game. For example, there was several situation where a charger knock most of us down(incapacitated) while the other "spitter" vomit acid on us.

There are actually much more to say about L4D2 but since it's only a demo, I think it's best we wait till the release date to further experience what L4D2 is capable of.

Has anyone preloaded the L4D2 and tried to do a backup? Apparently when I backup the file size is only 512kb and takes less than a minute to complete.

While playing the demo, I actually more worried if an uncommon infected will appear than tank or witch. Uncommon infected are more hazardous than special infected, as their front are well covered and bullet proof make them good meat shield for the hordes.
