well ur focusing on the wrong thing. the AI Milo simulation is just a tech demo. We all know that we're nowhere near that advanced yet in terms of AI and speech. its just a demo showing what the future of gaming might be. Not necessarily being on the current 360.

anyway, the main objective of natal is to omit the controller as a medium and use ur body instead, not about a fully AI controlled avatar on the other side of the screen who can communicate with us as a real person.

I can already imagine games like black and white using this technology and it could work really well. So I guess you got the wrong impression about natal. It's less about milo but more about the "elephant" if you get what i mean. lol
*
well yea i was focusing on that aspect .. and i meant a lot of people are hyped about it because of that demo in particular ... not the "elephant" lol... in any case we havent seen anything yet so cant say 100% for sure .. i just hope it doesnt turn out to be a crappy short lived add-on like the hd-dvd drive ...

Highly doubt it will end up like HD-DVD - - tech (this case HD format) that died with competition (Blu-Ray).

Natal not only is a huge competition, it is tech on a level unseen before. Also the fact that Microsoft claims developers are already looking into using Natal. There is news that Epic and Bungie are on it already.
http://e3.gamespot.com/story/6211413/epic-...h-project-natal
Having said that, this tech isn't going to be gone with the dinosaurs. It is the future, and makes the PS3 Motion Controller + Wii seems very outdated (with still the 'controller' barrier occuring).

As Steven Spielberg said "Microsoft has not just reinvented the wheel, there is no wheel."

Milo & Kate tech demo was very very cool. I was scratching my head on that demo, because Milo's AI and response was unlike anything we've ever seen in a video game tech demo. As to how feasible this is in current availability, I would say it is possible. That sort of AI level is indeed possible but would take years and years of development (watching the tech demo, I said to myself "Wow, this could take half a decade to reach), and Peter and his team have no issues with long periods of development time. Peter is a guy that loves research before development. Milo is confirmed to be Peter's much touted "Project Dimitri".

All in all, Natal is not 100% going to work as they showed, perhaps, but it is how its suppose to work. Can you imagine what Epic or Bungie can come up with that uses Natal ? Super Punching Master Chief 1000 ? Lol... the future is so damn exciting with Natal. One is only limited now with their imagination.

I believe people are more impress with the way Natal recognize all the human movement, it feels natural, it works in low light condition, facial recognition. Of course, that's only what I've seen or heard from the journalist. tongue.gif

QUOTE(Don Mattrick)
"I think we've got the best thumb-based controller ever created," Mattrick told Edge. "We're not going to take anything away. There will be controller-based games. What we're really doing is adding to our platform; when I think about Natal, I think of it like a Guitar Hero controller--it fits the experience better. There will still be games that use the controller, games that use only Natal, and games that use a combination.

"Think, you could be playing a game with a controller and have your character react when you instinctively duck out of the way of an explosion, or the ability to throw a grenade with a gesture. I don't think of Natal as taking anything away, I see it as adding more. As a creator, I love the potential to do more; I think it's going to net out a renaissance of new ideas. We haven't figured it all out, but I see it as additive."

RTS will be much more playable on console now. If you always focus on the elephant or casual monkey game only, well... laugh.gif (but elephant is pretty impressive too, it is able to recognize the 2nd person who join in!)

I guess playing Halo all day does make it hard for people to make friends. Now they can have Milo and be complete.

The technology is pretty impressive. But i'm pretty sure this is how the Matrix began. Thanks a lot Peter Molyneux...for eventually destroying mankind....

None of you finds Milo a bit too creepy?
The video showing Claire and Milo having a conversation feels the same like watching some Japanese Horor flick, some girl talking to ghost kids..
Come on, Milo is staring and talking, way.. creepy.

Well, after this is released, I'll be ditching my real friends tongue.gif Jk.

After the announcement of Milo, all kind of imagination pop-ups. RPG and stuff.. rolleyes.gif

All of us are waiting for this to happen 1 day and the day is finally near to happening.

Is still in beta but give another few more years, we all will play game like that.

I'm only hoping that I will see the day where a we can play the game( like the X-men movie 2 ( I think ) cyber training )real as possible.

My cousin just made an interesting point with Natal. Imagine playing rainbow six, with controller, but when you raise you hand up your in game player will also do it, so you can make hand signals.

Added on June 5, 2009, 5:13 pmthat'd be cool in other FPS too, imagine instead of tea bagging you can raise hand and.. errr.. greet people!

Impressive stuff, though still in beta. As IGN's Jeremy said "I kept asking the character questions just as though he was a real person -- but because of the early stage of his development, he just stared at me wondering what the heck I was talking about.."

sigh...1 million hits dotn account for nothing nowadays...Susan Boyle has like a million but i think shes extremely overrated, why is there a war between NATAL and PS3 Motion Control, i dont get it. There is praise and hate for a control system that we the gaming public have never even touched. All im saying is respect the technology and the idea of the product not the product itself...not yet anyway...

Also...if Natal were to build on that MILO program...i want me be able to kick this kids face in...with a bat...covered with nails...that are rusty...with Mr T cheering me on...
