Guys,
I need your opinion on this. I am not very sure if this is the right thread. I bought PS3 a couple of months ago and i am paying it with my Sony Bravia V-Series LCD. Will it ruin my LCD in the long term? Has anyone of you got any experience on this?

some old folks even said that you keep switching channels will spoil the TV, some even said if the channels got noise better dont watch, spoil the TV also i dont see any problem with sony PS3 and sony LCD TV console are meant for TV and also monitor, so far i never heard any complains from PS3 owners that their LCD TV spoiled because they play too much PS3 every LCD TV panel has its own lifetime, once it hit that lifetime means over

During last time, yes it's true that console can spoil the tv cause during that time not all tv support the scan frequency that the console required. Some, even though supports the required scan line frequency, pro-long usage can stress the electron gun to it's limit and hence spoil it. But this is only apply to old pre-historical tv, all new gen. tv won't have this problem at all as they don't use electron gun, no more.

Lawl seriously. that's their problem... it's their FAULT for throwing the controller to the TV. who ask them to do that? unless they're so rich to buy a new TV... just my 2 cents This post has been edited by yellowpika: Jun 13 2009, 03:45 PM

Even with electron guns, my 10-year old Panasonic CRT has survived an average of 6-8 hours daily gaming on my old PS and PS2, and up to 18 hours on weekends. It still works fine now, no IR. And I was playing only Gran Turismo for 6 months straight during one stretch, no movies, no regular tv, only GT... and still no IR.
Probably has less to do with scan lines and more to do with power surging maybe?
