why you guys so anti those hobby shops selling in sets

Hasbro give lousy assortment, i went through the list before, they force retailers to eat all lousy moulds and repaints, what can they do?

Be fair lah, they not toy r us got so much money to hold stock

I got no problem with sets cause i negotiate my sets with them and also better pricing after proper nego, better still can preorder wave 3 & 4 secretly.... hehe

Here's my 2 sen on this issue.

Most ppl do not like to spend additional on something they do not like, that is why they do not like shops which sell in set. Sure Hasbro is acting like a big brother and forcing this down the small retailers, but the fact is, if we do not buy, Hasbro won't do such a thing. I seriously doubt Hasbro would want all the little pop and mom shops to kaput, since it is also part of their distribution channels.

Also, if they screw the big retailers like those small chains and give those big retailers lousy assortments, don't you think the big chains will make noise too? Maybe it is because of this issue Jusco gave up on Hasbro?

I tell you what I have learned from TFTM 1, if you see something you like but the shop is screwing you over or it is selling too expensive, wait till the movie heat dies down. Let me give you an example, BB08, the most highly sought after TF. After the movie was released, finding one was as hard as scoring 4D one forumer used to say. But then as the months go by there are so many different variants of BB08 that in the end some of the stock took a while to move. Same as Ultimate Bumblebee, so hard to find initially, but then after a while there were so many left in TRU.

So be patient. Dun fork out extra just to get that LC Prime coz later Hasbro will come out with PREMIUM LC Prime for the same price and berlambak coz everyone spend all their money buying ROTF toys in a hurry. I have learned my lessen, ordered Takara LC Prime for RM 240, only to find LC Prime Hasbro berlambak in Isetan KLCC the week later doh.gif If I have waited 1 more week or so, maybe I could have save some cash. Same goes to BB08, bought in set from Toyliers, but months later berlambak in an even cooler variant and in premium colors.

I could go on and on, but as a toy company Hasbro would want the stock to move fast. It does not want stagnant stock in retailers as then retailers will complain that they cannot get rid of stock and will not buy new ones. At the same time the fans are complaining to Hasbro why aren't the toys moving and where are the new releases!!!

I dunno why, Hasbro and Mattel seem to share a common evil. After my hiatus from TF collecting (too expensive), I began collecting Hot Wheels, MBX and the like. Man, you would not believe how screwed up Mattel is with their car distribution. Underpacking nice cars, charging extra for 3 packs and 5 packs, no discount for even cars 2-3 years old hanging on the pegs! For Mattel I have took the initiate to tell Jusco that they should order more nice sellable cars and not underpack them. I do not know if Jusco can "persuade" Mattel or not. Have not tried with Hasbro, since I gave up buying TF toys.

I have not bought any ROTF toys yet. The price increase from RM 49.90 to RM 59.90, RM 189.90 to RM 219.90 and RM 99.90 to RM 109.90 or more is simply putting me off buying anymore ROTF products. Maybe I'll buy a Human Alliance, but see the price first.

I have learned my lesson; be patient, chances are Hasbro will want to milk the same mold over and over so there are many opportunities to get that mold. But be smart and look-out for price fluctuations or discounts.

If you eat wantanmee and the seller forces you to order the chicken feet as well, will you be happy?

Assortments have always been there... Before someone ventures into this business, they would have known this... Find me a business without risks? Hasbro is not running a charity, eToyz is not running a charity, so why should we start to be charitable when it is us that contributes to their bottom line?

Whatever the reasons, it is unethical to force consumers to buy things this way, in fact it is illegal... Snap out of it nicholas84...

It is selfish...

Spare a thought for buyers who may not be able to afford the sets...

agreed. as impressive the rotf OP is, he's somewhat too fragile. too much kibbles hanging around(i can't pose him without some of his parts getting out of place). it's like comparing alternator meister with alternator mirage. i have to give props to the designer though, the transformation is pretty impressive. 1 and 1/2 hour for me to get him into alt mode and back on the 1st try. shakehead.gif

TFBoy, it seems that you are like having some sort of competitive streak with Samus_Ng lol. You sound like you're fighting him in a match akin to Megatron Vs. Optimus Prime: "Finally, its my turn, Prime." Haha.

Anyway, three Sideswipe is kinda sweat.gif So is three Primes sweat.gif.
But suit you two lol.

BUT really, to be really honest.
WHEELIE is for the win.

It does seem like TFBoy is having some kind of competition against Samus... You're a lucky kid TFBoy...

3 Sideswipe? Whatever rocks your boat... Coz I bought something in triplicate before as well...

Sideswipe is cool, worth to buy another, but will wait and see if there's a Premium... Already have a red repaint confirmed, Swerve...

Ooh, that's my problem with them. Love to sell in sets. Last time when everyone was desperate for BB08, I heard they got stock for PO. So I call them, then they say "oh, you come to our shop" (Mind you, I stay DAMN FAR AWAY FROM THEM).

I sampai sana "have to preorder with three other figures"

I felt so disappointed, I traveled so far haih... Tapi xpe lah lol

haha...this consider ok...they told me ok got..then when arrive got term and condition...tell me u buy this 1st and then this and then only can buy this and that at this this price hhahaa

yup i do agree with some of the comments. shops not suppose to force us buy in sets very important if we don't like that item why should we pay for it. same thing happened here in auckland. big retailers only have BB and soundwave for deluxe class. also dont have fallen voyager at all. suprisingly only 1 shop called TOYSRFUN have other figures that most sought after such as sideway/sideswipe/skidd/fallen that not available in big retailers. price wise all been marked up quite badly.

true, if can't get those figures now better just wait till the heat is over and there will be plenty of them on shelves.

That's right mate, I guess Hasbro is giving crappy assortment and this effect goes down to all retailers because they know collectors like us will feed and tolerate with their nonsense. Just imagine if every big shot i.e. Carrefour, Isetan, Toys R Us refused stocks if it's in set, do you think Hasbro will sell in that assortment? Just my 2 cents...

What can i see here is Hasbro is gaining more buy raising the price
in 1 year, deluxe class price raised from RM54.90 to RM59.90
so does Voy Class & LC Class

what the F man
for me, it's ridicolous shakehead.gif

Global Economy is quite ok now
fuel still cheap, why raised price?
