hey guys, need some advice here.

For same model of transformers, are there really got difference between the brands Takara Tomy and Hasbro?

Takara Tomy one tends to be much more expensive than Hasbro ones. But the outlook and appearance of the figures look exactly the same. (or does it got any other difference that can't be spotted by eyes?) In terms of material quality, smoothness of articulation and etc.

What do you guys think? Need some advice from the Pros here.

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

well that depends on the series. for Rotf, there seems to be very little differences(minute details). for other series, the the difference spans from construction material, painted parts and some safety regulation issues. the mold itself however, in terms of articulations, transformation and overall design is 99% the same.

The mold and overall appearance is quite different between TFTM and ROTF...

TFTM OP is more on the bulky side whereas ROTF OP imo is more lean and movie accurate

I would say it definitely worth to pick it up.

However I am waiting patiently for a premium version with TakTom's chrome bling bling tongue.gif

Yeah, mine doesn't close too well either. Seems like the fit between the door and the rest of the panels is a little too snug.
Got to kind of force it in to the door frame to get it to close properly most of the time.

Ronnie : Both r quite the same. its also been discussed about the differences of both. if u like the 'takara' sound on ur optimus brand, its up to you. we can decide 4u, its ur money.

as mentioned, the difference is just a minute paint job, not much else. worth it or not, it's your call. for me, it's not.

Which Petronas are you going to? The ones I visit still only have Bumblebee - and LOTS of it!!!
Even Starscream isn't on their shelves till Sunday...

It doesn't! tongue.gif
Neither Hasbro nor Takara have said there will be a 'Premium' line nor have there been any whispers about one.
Hasbro have even gone on record to say there won't be the same kind of repaints done for the RoTF line...

My advice is to get whichever you can lay your hands on. There is about 0.5% difference in the toy for about 10% difference in the price.

Then your Petronas station is following the marketing dept's rule to the word.
I bought mine at Petronas Bandar Kinrara, Puchong.

BTW, no fuel/Mesra shop purchase required

Well, I know XL-Shop got a new shipment in a day or so ago so you could try there if you don't mind their higher pricing.
ToyWiz have also been bringing them in but not sure if they'll be getting a restock on Takara ones or sticking to Hasbro now.

They are indeed.
I drive past that station quite regularly. Might have to stop by and see what they've got over the weekend.
Thanks!
