QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ May 29 2009, 06:09 PM) English is Malaysia's 2nd language Yeah, which is why I was kinda confused when you guys got it wrong. However, in commercial sector, even Malays prefer to speak English... The newspaper with the highest circulation number, is not a Malay newspaper, but an English newspaper QUOTE(peinsama @ May 29 2009, 06:09 PM) Which part of my post was that comment aimed at? QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ May 29 2009, 03:11 PM) Not to mention to what extent can Malay actually help us aside from just communicating or interacting with other malaysian. QUOTE(Amoureuse @ May 29 2009, 03:16 PM) Have you ever seen any subject in university level (overseas) that uses Bahasa Malaysia (Melayu to be exact) as the common language? I certainly not. Maybe there is or are, but let's face the fact that English is the one that actually been widely use throughout the world in tertiary education. And its not simple to actually translate Mathematics, Science and Economics from Malay to English. Its obviously a disadvantage for student who wants to pursue their studies overseas. Time consuming. Plus, i believe most universities in Malaysia are conducted in Engrand. And politician believed that by putting BM aside, it would cause Bahasa Malaysia to lose its value and culture? Pfft....
