i'm still worried about the easy goal that we let in against SC columbia, as well as the two goals against barnet.

it would seem as if our defense is still not up to scratch. i know most people are gonna reply that it's just pre-season and all that, but it still bugs me... especially since our defense has been our achilles heel in recent times...

but it's always good to see rosicky back in action and our attacking play against SC colombia was really entertaining...

He did a good job?remember Anelka's run at Emirate?Nasri was watching as Anelka run pass him and fired a shot. The midfield trio of Nasri-Cesc-song was totally over-ran by Man Utd.Its an horrible decision to play him there imho.I would prefer him in attacking midfield role.
*
not to mention i think it would be a waste of his talent to play him in a defensive role when he's such a talented attacking player. it's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. get a defensively inclined player and leave nasri as our attacking option, that would be what i hope for.

Ashley Cole is fast becoming one of my most hated players. What a disrecpectful and ungrateful little piece of ****.
*
what to do... nowadays no one wants to listen to him, so he's gotta make controversial statements in order for it to get publish. leave him alone. we're MUCH better off without him. and i really do hope that we'll finish about chelsea this season just to add insult to injury... =)

i'm quite sure city's bid is probably true... after all, they are mr.moneybags this season anyway. they were also the same team pursuing kolo in the last january transfer window.

however, the saga of last winter's transfer window was only because there were some issues between toure and gallas. this seems to be have been ironed out and they actually formed a decent pairing towards the end of last season.

there would be no reason for toure to leave now, unless he's really that afraid that he will lose his place to vermaelean, which i think is quite unlikely.

toure to stay. =)

14 million for toure is cheap if you consider that an unproven EPL defender like vermaelean cost us 10 million, and glen johnson cost liverpool 18.5 million. toure is a proven EPL performer and has been consistently been playing, so yes, i agree with the view that 14 million ain't enough.

and i think henry's conduct since he left arsenal has been totally professional and merely goes to cement his place in the arsenal hall of legends. however, the same cannot be said of a certain cashley...

watched the highlights... looks like Szczesny had a good game yesterday night.. had a double save which was really good and also the free kick save which was great as well....

but the attacking play of arsenal was very a joy to watch and eduardo and bendtner really look good together. hope they can form a really monstrous partnership. =)

Kolo requested to be transfer listed last December. if he is a loyal servant as you put it, he would not do that, no?
*
i suppose to his defense, it was due to the situation he was having with gallas.... but in the end he retracted the transfer request, so i think perhaps we shouldn't be too harsh on him. although if the current rumour is true, i'd be really sad. it's bad enough that he leaves and arsenal are left with a threadbare defensive situation, he's moving to a club who are aiming to break into the top four, probably at our expense...

i hope if he does go...

1. he will be a flop at man city
2. he won't be a flop, but arsenal will win the title or at least finish the season in the top four
3. wenger please get reinforcements..
4. he won't talk bad about arsenal like that hleb, cashley and even ade...

sigh...

Zan, i actually do not agree with selling Ade for only 25 millions. but i tried very hard to convince myself that this means we are going to change our way of playing by removing our top striker from our club. and i actually managed to convince myself with that even though the amount 25 millions still frustrated the hell out of me

but now seems like we also selling Kolo. again to Manchester City, a club which being talked up to take our place in the top 4. why or why we are weakening our side squad-wise and strengthening them at the same time? and just 16 million pound for a proven defender in BPL in the form of Kolo?

i know this is yet to be confirmed but it does looks like it will go through now. it is very hard to convince myself again by the looks of all the happening at our club
*
for me, the sale of ade was ok for me... but i feel a little more for this story about toure, especially since we don't really have proven, consistent EPL CBs in our ranks (besides gallas). again, if we sell toure and buy from abroad we have to give them time to adapt to the EPL, to their new team mates, to the arsenal style of play, etc... and with the way the EPL is played now, we can't afford to lose more than 4 games per season if we want to challenge for the EPL title.....

for me, if Kolo leaves for Citeh we MUST bring a ready-made replacement. if not we are putting our hope of a successful season over TV doing a Sagna or Johan doing a Flamini. sudahlah we already hope for Denilson doing a Flamini if we did not bring a ready made partner for Cesc  sweat.gif
*
and that is my biggest fear... that even if toure leaves for man city, wenger may come out and say that we're still strong enough in the defensive department since we still have 6 CBs in our ranks..... if toure goes, we will really need that ready-made, EPL proven replacement. as it is, i'm still worried that we haven't brought in an experienced defensive midfield cover or an imposing combative midfielder and now this...

the faint glimmer of hope for me is that there is still time in the transfer window before the season starts and i hope that something will happen for us where we get players instead of us selling players... trying hard to trust wenger and stay positive...
