you guys wouldn't believe it.
i just got myself another longimanus. but this one is really old i think. the telson is dark red and the pincers are really strong. injured my thumb when pick it up. i notice that the scorpion is lacking the stinger. the sharp part like it broken off and also a few of the pectinal teeth are missing. looks like it had went through a rough life. my friend was the one who alerted me. no idea what sex it is. can anybody post a picture of the mites that usually infest the scorpions? i want to do a check on all of my scorps. |

if you notice the mouth area looks deformed.
i think i will keep it until it dies. it should be a great display scorp because it doesnt have a complete telson. so i can educate people about scorps in my first aids lectures. |

i really cant see anything trying to get in trouble with a scorpion this big.
but life is life i guess. what bothers me is the incomplete telson. i guess it must have been surviving by pinching its prey to death. because my thumb and fore finger doesn't look to good after it pinch me multiple times when i was trying to secure it. the fingers are bleeding slightly and are full of scars. Added on May 26, 2009, 12:41 amis it advisable for me to put in a red bulb or light so that i can observe the scorpions and not intrude them? are we the only one left here???
so the red glo from exo terra should be ok or any red bulb should be ok like the 15 watt bulbs that are normally sold in shops. |

can't wait to get to town and get my aquarium and stuff. feeling very sorry for the scorps that are inside the mineral water bottle. i've been gathering stuff for a good week now. just waiting for the aquarium. Added on May 26, 2009, 1:01 amas long as the camera can catch the scorpions then it is good enough for me. Added on May 26, 2009, 1:03 ami'm going to bed. good night everyone. god bless us all. can be also. but from where i got it this area is a no kids zone and i'm the only one who is willing to handle them.
the rest will kill it quickly or run away screaming. i really hope it will survive. want to give it a good place to live the rest of it's life. any idea what sex it is? |

yup it is workable. you can buy the kit at electronic shops. but the kits come with a normal led and you will need a dozen of them to get the luminescences that you want.
nice idea. will try it soon. i'm googling up the circuits. Added on May 26, 2009, 9:23 am ![]() this should work but it is really ott for a simple night light. This post has been edited by akagidemon: May 26 2009, 09:23 AM |

had a chat with Nonono and he said that it is not advisable to use the analogue hygrometer and thermometer from exo terra because it is made form thin plastic and is broken easily.
any one who is using it here can you please comment. thank you. |

no need that accurate la. our climate already guarantees a 80% plus humidity at any given time.
i just need a rough idea of the humidity in the enclosures. thats all. and considering that i have a tight lid enclosure i'm sure the humidity is at least around 80% Added on May 26, 2009, 11:46 amwhen you guys discuss about humidity of the enclosures are you talking the relative humidity or the substrate humidity? already. i put 2 females and 2 males into a single enclosure.there is not much room in there just nice for 4 of them. so the probability of mating is really high.

well the injured 1 i got yesterday was a male. i really can't say if the same male mated with both female or the males had 1 partner each.
does anybody knows if a single male can mate with 2 females in one night? |
