Added on June 16, 2009, 11:01 pmi researched about nematodes and they are microscopic i don't think we can see them with the naked eye.

Larvae of fly = maggot. The ones you have in your tank are maggots akagi. Changing the substrate will do. You may also want to consider getting a completely new batch of feeders. I had a fly infestation before. Placed some mealworms in airtight containers in an experimental attempt to find out the source of the maggots. All I can tell is, mealworms are not really the safest feeders around. Trying changing the substrate first. And if there is a recurrence of the same condition, dispose the current batch of feeders you have - crickets, mealworms or roaches. Good luck.

Does AFS tend to be picky with the size of their food? My AFS caught a huge cricket (this cricket alredi molted til da stage where is so huge, brown colour wif large wings), caught it in its claws for a while then let it go. It wasnt struggling, cricket is quite weak. Moments later I pushed a smaller cricket to it, once caught straightaway eat the smaller cricket.

Mine sumtimes the same, grab its prey then release it.Once it grab its prey, the prey already half dead.So i just leave it there and it will eat it eventually..
