I just want to ask, some reviewers(not all) complain about the i10 on its motorway performance, have any of you who drove the i10 on our highways ever felt you are fighting more than you should with it?

hmm, honestly, i dont know anything about kia picanto,

but if u considering i10, i would suggest go for the i10 1.25 kappa. Better FC and of course more power.
that if u have extra budget tho,
iianm, hyundai sime darby glenmarie is giving free bodykit for the latest i10 1.25 kappa.

I've checked ,the 1.25 kappa Standard spec- without airbag and ABS is RM49,913

If want ABS and Airbag is RM52688.

Will ABS make big different for the spec?

I got my Hyundai i10 Basic Auto a week ago and today I finally managed to get a good drive around with it. It has a great turn radius and turns well and can go around the town quite well. It absorbed potholes reasonably well and all in all I enjoyed myself in the i10. As for the Picanto, I cannot say anything about it because I never really drove it but look at the forums around the web you will find plenty of Picanto lovers. Based on common sense I can say that both these cars are at home in the city with their short bodies they can both handle turns well. Beyond that I know not of the differences.

Just take a test drive for both, find the car you like, feel in love with it and stick with it. flex.gif

for additional 3k,
i would say its kinda worth it, provided if u get more goodies out of it such as bodykits, quality tinted, foglamps, gps, 4point reverse sensor, everything everything,
just ask the SA to gave u all the things that u can get,

but if no freebies is given, basic spec is good enough, unless u really need the security measurement which by all means that is why the main point people would opt for i10.

to cut down the budget, the 1.1 full specs seems a good choice too.

from what i know, the different of i10 1.25 were,
-using timing chain not timing belt (less maintenance)
-dohc engine
-more power ofcourse
-the latest kappa engine built, rather than the epsilon in 1.1
-better fc (on stats of cours, yet to be proven, need owner to clarify)
-got two new colours only for i10 1.25
-extra 2-3k on price tag
-more?

whatever it is, just ask the SA to give you the most discount and the most freebies you can get, 2-3 k discount is good enough.
squeeze everything from the sa whistling.gif

do check few showroom before decide which to go for, as different showroom gave different offer, but might affects you car delivery.

I think i really love i10. but i get to know that some i10 owner claim that the Fuel C is high.

The link is here, http://paultan.org/2008/08/02/hyundai-i10-...ed-in-malaysia/

read the comments there and someone even ask to get ready for the high FC...

Is this true? Like for full tank of petrol, how many km can it go?

ive read all the comments long before i bought my i10, yet i still buy i10.
to my surprise, im lucky mine have good fc, now have been running nearly 20k mileage, i can get 14-15km/l.
and last time i went to kelantan from kl, only need to fill up rm50 for full tank, and still have extra fuel in tank,
and yes, im not a heavy footed, kept around the range of 90-120km/h only, 2.5-3.5k rpm only.

but i do know some i10 owners with not so good fc, im lucky i guess?
before my 1st service, the fc is around 11-12km/l only, it gets better after the 3rd service.
im using auto btw.

theres a shell station near my place that you have to climb a steep slope to get to and around my sisters housing area the area is covered in slopes...and i have driven my i10 to both. Slopes are no problem if you give it enough gas like any other car.

Small engine don't like steep slopes. That's the fact, and u can't do nothing about it. U need plenty of torque to tackle steep slopes.

I wonder how's the new i10 with new kappa engine nowadays? Maybe owner of kappa engine can share a little of your experience?

hey guys!!
I'm a new owner of i10 1.25 standard specs!!

i10 it's a really nice car to drive..especially around the cities

however there are some problems I encountered:

1. the central lock seems to have problem. When I use the remote to lock the car, all the doors lock except for the driver seat's door. So need to use the key to lock it manually. Will send to workshop to have a check up.

2. the driver seat's door got a weird sound when i open it. maybe it's because of not enough lubricant??

3. found that the radio signal receiver is weak.

wonder any i10 owners experience the problems i stated above?? Personally i think all not i10 will encountered with the problem 1 & 2. but the radio thingy really makes me rclxub.gif

about the fc...i can't really tell is good or bad for the mean time.. because the car is still new and the mileage is under 500km. will c how's the fc after my first service @1000km.

to those who are new and never test drive before (i10 1.25), should you guys got any inquiries feel free to ask me. smile.gif

ive been driving my i10 for bout 7 months now and i think its the old version. fc is pretty high but then again, it would depends on how you drive it. used to work in nikko hotel and during the morning, when i step on the accelerator all the back and forth, i usually need to put petrol every 3 days or so. But nowadays, when I only go to college and back, my almost full tank can last me for 3 weeks, but do bear in my my college iis 1km from my house or less.
as for long distance drive, again it totally depends on how you drive. if you speed until 160 all the way back, by the time i reach ipoh from kl, 3/4 of my petrol is gone. on the other hand, if i maintain my speed at around 130, usually itll just use 1 and half bar or 2 bar at most.

Anyway, I'm thinking bout installing a sunroof for my i10. I love sunroof especially during the night? Is that possible? But I'm worried the sunroof might leak due to showdy workmanship. Can I get it done by hyundai itself? pretty noob question here but im no car pro.

Thanks!
