My setup :
Front : Mirage Omni 260
Center : Mirage Omni CC
Surround and rear :Mirage Omni FX
Sub : SVS 20-39 PC+
AVR : Pioneer VSX D2011
Source : TViX 4100SH, PS3

As you can see, I do not have any corner for the bolster  sad.gif . My previous box sub was sitting between the center and front right speakers. I can move the bolster to the front right corner behind the speaker if I shift the whole screeen setup to the left a bit. But it will be quite a bit of work... sweat.gif So I will do it only if I know for sure it can give me a better result..

Malaysian are under the impression the we pay very little income tax as compared to other countries. But in reality we pay a lot of tax for all the things we buy making malaysian one of the highest taxed country in the world.

Added on July 2, 2009, 9:27 amAlso on the topic of sub, anyone consider dual MFW-15 sub from AV123?  Price looks cheap around USD 800 for 2 x 15inch sub (350w).

Hopefully.

Next aim (if everything goes as planned), it would be PB13Ultra / PC-13ultra. Most likely PB. Unless, I have a bigger room for PC. Obviously, I do not have one  sad.gif

Then, Klipsch RF-83, RC-64, RS-62 plus multi-channel power amp along with JVC D-ILA projector wub.gif .

Bro, I believe that there will be certain freq that can crack / damage things. Just like the glass breaking theory by using vocal.

Like soldiers doing a marching crossing a bridge. A continous and uniformity march will create certain frequency that can actually bring down the bridge. No joke. Someone told me this. That's the reason that they don't march across the bridge.
*
That is call resonance if I'm not wrong. Everything for eg a piece of glass or a bridge have a natural frequency. If the wind blows or a certain sound wave reach that natural frequency, it will vibrates the whole thing and even breaks it if the force is enough.

It dont have to be insane level. Listening to moderately loud music or sound for a prolong period could do the same damage. You will only notice the damage after sometimes especially when your ages catches up with you.

Wah bro, i din say that lar... I wanna sell cos i have not gotten my HT setup and and since its still box i dont wanna open it so can sell as brand new mar...

Difference is not heaven and earth lah but rather individual preference. Some prefer Velo some prefer SVS.. For me i like the natural bass the SVS gives out..
*
Good choice....after listen to my PC12+, there is no way I want to go back to my CHT-12R.

Thought that the difference is really that significant to make u ditch the boxed spl 1200 ultra laugh.gif

btw, I auditioned at Htkaki's house before for his PC-12+ and one forummer's spl 1200 ultra
the difference is not heaven and earth
For me, svs wins marginally on certain functions like deep bass, and natural bass
the rest I found no difference

I've thought of getting pb-12+ for upgrading (cylinder sub is no way for me due to wife factor)
but then I have to give up due to its gigantic size and space constraint
in the end I settled for spl 1200 ultra which I found not too far away from pc-12+
*
A short audition is really not enough experience the full range of sound from the SVS. AS I watch more and more movies with my new SVS PC12+, I am beginning to get a richer sound experience from the PC12+. There are some scenes that goes so low it makes you shocking.gif rolleyes.gif thumbup.gif wub.gif rclxub.gif but those scen are very few and sometimes only happens like once in the whole movie. Although i never heard of the SPL1200U, i can safely say that the SVS is more than what i expected and will recommend it to any serious HT heads.

I am still figuring out the budget (no specific budget yet). Anyway not going to buy sub that going to shake my neighbour...... just need a decent (worth the money) sub which is good for my living hall.

Added on September 23, 2009, 5:50 pmLet's put it this way.... budget is below RM2k.

Thanks.

I recommend SVS...go see HTkaki for an audition. I have heard quite a few good brand sub but the all pale in comparison to the SVS. Get a good sub and be happy for the next 10 years.

Demo scenes for your subwoofer as recommended by SVS:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The list refers to DVD. Imagine the same scenes with lossless audio. drool.gif

I think the whole thing about lossless audio is overated. JMHO

Not only about EQ limited boost, but valley can really suck up your amplifier power and sometimes it's not worth it. Not only that, you might be bordering the excursion limit of your driver with that much power.
*
Mind explaining how valley can really suck up the amplifier power?
