(gotta wait la den...) d play button is used wen u click the pause button, in the background, d streaming will be recorded to the memory... and the play button is used to resume your streaming.... basically, play is used after the pause... generally, no one actually click the play button.... even me....! wen using player lyk media player, winamp... user tends to double click on the playlist aite ?? so, i jz ignored dat play button.... if dats wat you want it to be..., i can make it work....

Casual Junior Member 310 posts Joined: Apr 2008	omg... many askin dat... even the radio havent complete fully yet.. yet my internet which is so called celco* for now not good enuf to test stream with my modules so i cant relly try it... bt i would add 2 or 3 testing channel to beta 4 or version 1 in which comes sooner... n also planned for a VOIP software similar to skype, YM n msn... "planned" recruiting a team... all on "plan".... the tv stuff m not so sure yet.. bt can be done bt my resources not enuf to actually accomplish it... will try my best..!! cheers. satz

Casual Junior Member 310 posts Joined: Apr 2008	actually there's no specific speed can be mentioned... even me using celcom d68 with the speed of 384 kbs wt rough download speed of 35-45 kB/s can stream well malaysian radio stations especially the wma based one.... so, it actually depends on ur bandwidth load and its speed.. may b it lags because of there are more usage on the bandwidth in the background process... the server added in here are perfect for streaming... may b its because of the day... ( U noe streamyx...) depends on mood.... try another day then... cz i have nvr lag problem.. try again n c.. if the problem exists... i will try to add a speed tester to verify which party makes the problem.. cheers. satz.

Casual Junior Member 310 posts Joined: Apr 2008	hi guys n gals... sorry for late reply... i was out to my hometown for several days due to something.. beta 4 is complete bt having certain bugs yet... cant release wt bug right... dats y still working on it.. and to people who are facing server shut down... try to increase your connection timeout setting in the configuration settings... bt dont exceed 30... if many faces the same problem for the same station... lpz let me noe the url where you can actually listen to it online.. i will make the update soon.. cz i cant find the link for every one of the stations.. u gotta help me too... now one fm is not working.. (i havent test yet) so, can u try to find a working online site... post in the forum.. either me or another person sure will get the ip address... you wont face the ip changing problem later because beta 4 comes with favourites.. wer u can add your own stations with another ip if the database one is outdated... actually beta 4 is complete.. jz can't play wma based servers.. dunno y.. still finding the error... cheers. satz Added on July 5, 2009, 7:49 pmooooooooooo i just got to know that many malaysian stations shifted their servers and using octashape to stream... now i need a packet sniffer to get the streaming ip... BT NOT MORE THAN 30 or u will face overflow problem which requires u to get a fresh new settings.dll from me... ( well jz notify here or in the support forum... ) usually its because the server has been shut down.. or gone for maintenance.. cheers. satz

I've always set my speaker to quite a loud value and I just adjust the software's volume to proper hearing value. And I have adjusted as such for your software. But each time I changed station, the volume is somehow reset to normal 100% even though the volume level is still in its reduced state. I have to click and adjust a little the volume to get it to the volume state I wanted, each time I change stations. One thing I like to suggest is get yourself a graphic designer. Your UI is friendly. No problem in getting around. But as a graphic student myself, I find the UI somewhat 'ugly'. Before releasing a version 1, I believe a UI makeover is needed to attract people. After all, as humans are, they do judge by 1st impression. By just looking at a screenshot and finding it somewhat well to put it nicely; not nice, they might just turn away and thought that 'Dem its ugly. The functions might be terrible as well'. But as they look at nicer interface; 'Wow it looks amazing. If they've gone and did a good job on the UI, it must not be lacking in function and feature department as well. I'll give it a try'. After all in this days of age, people seem to demand beauty quite frankly a lot. Long gone are the days of let say simplicity of Win 98 as people are gawking the effects of Win 7 or Mac OS X. Even Linux has gone wild with its effects to attract people. Currently you might still want to concentrate on getting the software in proper working shape, however do try and fit in some makeover as well. As I see, BETA 4 was released in 11 July (according to your post there). It has just been release so no need to rush out version 1 so hastily. Take your time and solve whatever problem or bugs currently affecting the software. Best of luck to you. Oh, another note is, create a logo. I've been to your forum, site, looked at the software and I just can't find that one logo that represents your software. Please do remember, a logo is important for a software as it represent the software itself. People don't need to look at the name already will be able to determine what software the logo belongs to. Take windows logo for example, by just looking at it people will already know its Windows even though there's no windows name attached to it. That is how an important a logo is. Added on July 14, 2009, 2:37 pmI just notice something while going through the software. Its the Info page. I noticed you put UTAR's logo there. is UTAR related in any way to this software? Contribution? Support? Because if there is none, I believe you're not allowed to put it there. One more thing I found is, when I clicked minimize when the Radio Database window is opened, the Radio Database window does not follow the main window to minimize. It stays there and I have to close it to get it out of the way. Well seems like a lot has been said so lemme just summarize it: Some more feature that I would like to request which I believe will increase the user-friendliness / Suggestions: On the list (Radio Database), by clicking an alphabet on the keyboard, it will highlight the first entry matching the key pressed. Much like in explorer where you need to press 'E' for example to find an entry starting with an 'E' UI Makeover A logo (is the water splash from the software your logo? Cause I don't see you using it anywhere on the forum or web) For the open menu/close menu, I believe it will be much better if its done in right clicks. Means right click anywhere on the interface, those list of stuff will pop-up much like any kind of right-click for any software. Alphabetically listing radio station list. Right now its pretty much messy. Bug/Problems Volume will reset if changing station. Have to change the volume each time. Database window won't follow if minimizing main window Weird problem with status text in main window If I clicked the system tray icon to bring the window in front of the other window (it was at the back previously, not minimized), the main window position is reset to the middle which I find annoying because I usually positioned on the left because it was overlapping the Radio Database. I have to repositioned it each time I clicked the system tray icon to bring it into focus. Questions What is that yellow arrow icon on the left of X icon on the Radio Database window? I hovered it and it doesn't have any tooltip nor anything happens when I clicked them. UPDATE: I clicked it after saving a station and it clears the list. Is that what it suppose to do? I do understand on the graphic part. Its not like you can hire someone to do it right. But they are many free software out there that does have their own graphic designer. And yes they do work for free. My suggestion would be loiter around any graphic design community like deviantArt for example. There are a lot more so do google em out. Then try asking if anyone is interested in making a skin for you. After all as you know, they are many skin makers out there. Just look at winamp skins. Hundreds if not thousands. And most of them are free. You just have to know where to look. Another thing I noticed, is on Play Pause button. How even does it work? I clicked Pause and Play is usable. But then Pause is unusable. After I changed station it still remains the same. Pause is unclickable but Play is. Clicking Play won't have any effect though. Here's my suggestion to how the behavior of those button should be. On program start, Play button is clickable. When clicked, it will connect to the last station played by the user. Means it actually remember what was the last station played. If it's on the first run, just play the first entry on the database. Once clicked, Play button remained clickable. When clicked, it will reconnect to that station. This is useful when that station has timed out, we can just reconnect by clicking Play. Pause well, it pauses. Does nothing more. No problem there I guess, but do make sure it still clickable after that. Because as I have mentioned before, even after I changed station, the state of those buttons remain the same and I can't pause the station anymore unless I click stop first. But I think somehow this conflicts with your real intention with that play button since it plays those recorded media on background after pressing pause. But I do hope those things I said can somehow be implemented. Maybe the button knows if its paused, it will played those recorded paused media but if there is none, it will go straight connecting to the stations? Casual Junior Member 310 posts Joined: Apr 2008	develop fees/operating fees ?? creating this alone in "masa lapang"...!! code for fun.. but yes expecting some donation only.. hehe... crash issues usually regarding the RAM, this software utilizes the RAM not ur CPU this is because buffering goes in ur ram.. wen recording it takes from ur RAM becz its faster..! hence, try to figure out way to get from octoshape.. beta 5 will correct all malaysian radio stations... so kedekut wanna use octoshape... placing bandwidth n streaming on the other users... cheers. satz

Casual Junior Member 310 posts Joined: Apr 2008	as discussed before... many malaysian radio stations shifted to octoshape based streaming.. which integrates peer to peer technology... hence.. its either i gotta learn how they use localhost to play it through media player or i set media player as the main player for malaysia radio stations.... many agrees for the media player for malaysia... hence, beta 5 will b released... but not sooner bcz i got finals on the way... cheers. satz

Query of channel status could be done as HTTP request... SQL shouldn't be too difficult... so the only blocking stone would be lacking of stable hosting with sufficient bandwidth... Added on September 28, 2009, 11:10 amPossible enhancement: - In channel list, if I press 'L' key then the next channel entry whose name starts with 'L' will be highlighted. Casual Junior Member 310 posts Joined: Apr 2008	sorry for the very very late reply guys...!! m working rite now to earn some cash to buy a new PC... because my older celeron pc cant take it anymore... the new beta 5 would be built under WPF... its partially complete. with great GUI n animations.. it will take some time to get it done. for windows 7 32 bit it works great. for win 7 64, it wont work, due to library incompatibilities... once the beta 5 is complete under WPF, it will be even compatible with other microsoft windows release products.. for the database update. m very sorry, i got no time to do any of dat.... in beta 5, the user itself can suggest n mark working n non-working stations... connecting to web server database.. be patient aite... cheers. satz (if got donation sikit sikit tak pe la...) haha.. c ya !

Blazing is smart in detecting codecs needed.. bt in this case.. some of the radio stations converted their streaming to octoshape based...! where it became peer to peer based streaming instead the server itself taking the reposibility to stream.. so, beta 4 cant handle it yet so far... cz octoshape uses media player.. beta 5 can stream it fine.. i hav already tested it.. jz dat its not complete to release yet... cheers. satz This post has been edited by satz: Feb 23 2010, 03:31 AM

Time out got many possiblities : 1) Radio station is shit down 2) Ur connection is not good 3) timeout settings is set to low.. (change in settings part) 4) octoshape streaming many complains this.. bcz of that, beta 5 will come with user comments, meaning the new users will noe wich radio station works n which do not..! i would like to have more comments on how to upgrade.. all the names will be included in the credit part!! especially for LYN users oni ! cheers. satz
