QUOTE(Shinichi @ Apr 24 2010, 01:49 PM) Thanks Lester. abit hard and u will have no life. $10 is for 2 meal, u can make it 3 meal if u eat those economy mix rice as 2 vege and 1 meat is only 2.50If we work under EP, we take home 100% of salary without any deduction. Will we get taxed by both SG or MY government? I guess EP is ideal for someone who plan to work in SG for few years. For food, $10 a day for 2 meals or 3 meals? If I didn't order drinks, possible to keep within $10 a day for 3 meals? For 3G broadband, what are cheapest available option and which ISP offers stable line. I don't need high speed as long as its stable. Hows call/sms charges in SG compared to MY? If my phone bill in MY is less than RM20 monthly, does it mean i still able to control within $10 per month using prepaid? So is it possible for us to control our monthly expenses within $1k, which includes rental, transportation, internet, phone, food and other necessities? but i normally eat 2 meal and order more in those 2 meal. Mobile BB is not very stable. If u are a gamer, then i would suggest u dun waste money spending on smth u can't use. If u just want to browse net. then i suggest u to get a iPhone plan and do internet thethering with ur iPhone. can save up ur bill and with iPhone in SG, its really convenient. |

QUOTE(alexlee101010 @ Apr 25 2010, 12:47 PM) u also fresh grad? now working in singapore? what the benefits in singapore make u no regret at all? i am not fresh grad, in fact, i am not a grad at all. just have a few years of working experience in malaysia and then approach by a MNC in Singapore to work here. since i work for a MNC in Malaysia as well, i can say that the working culture in Singapore is much better as u wont see many lazy ppl here as compare to MY. if you are that kind of people that like to push away stuff try to drag stuff to be done, then dont come. but if you are the hard working type and wants to achieve something in ur life, then you should work in SG. |

QUOTE(futuristicwiz @ Apr 25 2010, 01:57 PM) I came across an interesting job that I hope to apply. Here's the condition: Just apply, u got nothing to lose when applying for a job. if the company find that u are really suitable, then they will do a work pass for you."Is a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident" I am a Malaysian and not a PR at the time of application. Am I eligible? for instance, I apply for PR after getting the job offer? Thanks. |

Just went to my aunty house for dinner, i discussed the topic about buying a HDB in SG with her. according to her, i can join name with my uncle to buy a property (if i get my PR) even i am below 35 years old. Just use my uncle's name to buy since he is a Singaporean. don;t wanna wait till 35 years old as i think by that time, the price of the HDB would increase at least 200% since its another 12 years time b4 i reach 35 years old.

QUOTE(SPS @ Apr 27 2010, 02:31 PM) WTF......a tag heuer watch in Singapore is like a seiko watch in KL, nobody looks twice at it down south. I have seen plenty of Rolex and Patek Philippe watch wearers strolling along Orchard Road and Raffles Place with nary a concern. Try wearing a Rolex watch in KL or JB and stroll around - it's a matter of time before one gets mugged. aduh, if in KL, u bring iPhone also scare coz iPhone = luxury item in KL.Are you implying you aren't afraid of wearing a Tag watch in Malaysia yet you fear for your safety in Singapore? but in SG, out of 10 ppl, 5 ppl is holding iPhone, no big deal. |

QUOTE(ik3da @ Apr 27 2010, 04:09 PM) Haha, iPhone is more like a 8 out of 10 fella in SG for me. Funny how it is so luxurious to have an iPhone in KL. if u compare Tag watches with iPhone, its about the same price, an iPhone cost RM3k in malaysia. u can get a Tag watch from RM1k-RM8k++ depends on the model. when i go back Kl during CNY, i notice all my friends are using SE/nokia or LG phones and only 1 guy use iPhone (rich guy). so iPhone is really consider a luxury item in KL.Bout spotting a Tag in SG, think it is perfectly safe to wear it around SG. Plenty more of those type of watches run around SG, you won't be the only one. |

QUOTE(-SaSa- @ Apr 28 2010, 09:42 PM) HAHAHA..dat's a good one!! LOL~ normally i will just sign but i will ask the hiring person as a joke "these are just for documentation rite? u wont change my salary ya?" if u ask them seriously and refuse to sign, frankly speaking if i am the manager, i think this guy is so fussy and i will just tell him either u sign or get another job.I also felt a bit offended by that statement. I requested them to change it. Sigh, wonder how come got such company who actually state so. Ridiculous,no? They dint state the OT claim etc also, even though they verbally told me that it can be claimed. Kinda worry cos no black and white, worry they cheat me =.=" Then again, dun wanna make them feel I'm damn fussy or demanding on the offer letter. Do u think I'm right?? I mean, to ask them to clarify and ask in more details?? |

As far as i know, last time i viewed a unit with a agent, he told me that i need to pay him 1/2 months as agent fees (thats the law according to him).
not sure if the owner will be paying him as well but that is what i have been informed as a tenant, in the end, i didn't take up the unit coz i feel that its not worth it, better get from direct owner |

QUOTE(SPS @ May 4 2010, 06:21 PM) Precisely. One encounters nice characters and nasty ones in any particular country. Behavioral traits are not labels that can be tagged onto any particular nationality or race. I am in Singapore for about 6 months now, my life is even more bored than him.Added on May 4, 2010, 6:22 pm That's because you lack a social network in Singapore. The same could be applied for any foreigner on a 2 week stint in KL. before work = home >walk > MRT > bus > office after work = office > gym > bus >MRT > food > walk > home this has been my life for the pass 6 months. off days its even worst. wake up> cook maggi > dota > watch drama > cook maggi again > dota > watch drama >sleep. i think i am going to be crazy if life continue to be like this for another 5 years. |

QUOTE(Jurlique @ May 5 2010, 02:02 PM) But I do agree to start a new fresh tread V4 for Singapore and we can link this thread in the first post. why don't you start it, Its very troublesome to compile everything and put it on the 1st page.Added on May 5, 2010, 2:30 pm QUOTE(wrb7878 @ May 5 2010, 12:18 PM) thanks. I believed that there is a rule. because my house owner have to submit my work pass to the gov to show that the person staying in the house have a valid permit.and any rules that social visit pass cannot rent a apartment in sg? duration at sg will around 2-3 month but will back to MAL every 2 week, so i din apply the work permit.
