Who says accountant in Singapore is only reserve for Singaporean not Msian? Where do you get your facts from? I have met so many Msian accountants in Singapore. W 1.5 years, I agree it would be from range of 2.5-2.8k. Chiang and associate should be a small Accounting firm.

Anyone can apply. I don't think there are any restrictions or exclusions. Success rate is about 48.932%.

You are so lucky that you get the week off la, I went back to work on Wed itself, straight from airport to work. But i stopby my house to dump the luggage.

I know PR need to pay tax. How about those holding working pass leh?
*
Anyone working or earning more than S$20k, will be subject to tax. EP,WP inclusive.

They say there are two things that you cant run away in life, one is death another is tax.

Anyone submitted their income tax? I have, too bad cant claim deduction on parents cause they are not in Singapore!

Quick check - anyone know how many times do we have to pay stamp fees (for renting a HDB)? I am going to rent a place for two-years lease but the stamp fees formula doesn't say whether it is once a year payment or one time payment.
*
Eg:
Stamp duty=(Mthly rental*12mths)/250
= Y (Rounded to the nearest dollar) + $2 for duplicate copy

See here
http://www.singaporeexpats.com/guides-for-...-for-rental.htm

You only pay once for the 2 years lease. But if you are renewing, the same fee applies.

Crapp0,

Maybe the company taht he is working in has not submit on his behalf. Anyways, not to worry, the IRAS will surely track him down.

S, EP, WP holders have to pay tax if the requirements are met. >183 days, gross >$20k (I think).

ok. Clear bout the tax. So how bout the working pass? For those holding WP/EP/SP or watever, are we tied to the company that apply for us for the duration? Can we change job during the period? Can we apply the pass on our own?
*
No, you cant apply the pass on your own, the company has to do it for you. You can apply to other company provided that they are willing to apply for a working pass for you.

Yup, if he leaves now, then he wont be tax. But if you plan to buy a house in Msia and you have no IRAS statement to support your loan application, chances are the loan might not be approved.

You need singapores tax info to buy a house in malaysia? Doesnt that sound ridiculous?

If he quits singapore and finds a job in malaysia then whats the prob?
*
That is just my experience, providing IRAS statement would definitely strengthen your loan application. Cause initially I couldnt find my IRAS statement so wanted to email them my payslip, but the banker insist to have my IRAS, cause I am applying for a loan >RM500k. Maybe the banker just wanna play safe cause I am working in Sg and not locally. One of their procedures to prevent fraudulent lender I guess (though u can argue that the IRAS sttaement can be fake).

If he goes back to Msia, no problem la. Whats the problem?

Not recommended to find job in Singapore cause
1. Waste money (you cant just storm into any company hoping to be interviewed).
2. Waste time (you still need to wait after sending in your application)

Unless you have relatives here that you can bunk with for a couple of weeks and money to spare.

chess_gal,

i have also thought of this b4. How should we arrange for interview if companies in SG called us? Like my case, I'm still working in MY, let's say co A called this week and ask if i can come for interview within these 2-3 days, then after 2 weeks co. B called for interview again. how ar? Keep going there ar? expensive leh.

Anybody want to share how they go for interview ar?

Did you guys apply for as many job as possible while waiting for respond?
*
I think thats the price u have to pay, regardless when they call you, intervals of 2/3 weeks, you still have to come down, unless you have a temporary accommodation here that you can bunk in for a month or 2.

I only applied to 3 companies and my current company respond within a week. Came down for an interview on Friday and the following Monday I got a phonecall from them. It was very fast!

Only come down once they have called u for an interview.

I think your friend is either blind or he's gay. There are so many pretty girls here! Try go down to Orchard or Cineleisure on weekends, packed with hot babes!

You are contradicting yourself all over the place.

You claim that women in Singapore are not attractive based on second hand information.  Now you claim Malaysian girls in Singapore are more attractive - reading your statememt implies that it is your personal opinion and not someone else's.  To top it off, you claim that Singapore is dead boring.

Both of your points are utter BS.  I am of the opinion that you are a troll who is one of those narrow-minded types who can't stand Singapore trouncing Malaysia in particularly anything noteworthy!  whistling.gif

actually 2.8k is only 80% of my salary in malaysia..
so it is not a wise choice to accept this offer?

You have been working for 3 years, so I think you would roughly know how much you are worth. But if you are desperate for a change, accept the pay and don't complain later.

From the PAP childcare centers? I think the private ones won't care.

Cheaper just to get a maid, or if your wife earns less than 3K, she should just stay home.
