was surprised to see that SAL1870 & SAL55200 is going to be discontinued... was planning to buy that lens... dang... which one better? SAL55200 or Beercan??

how come?? is it coz of the lens coating?? coz I noticed that pictures with my Prinzflex 28mm seems more vibrant than my kitlens... just wondering...

eh, how about tammy 55-200? good replacement for SAL55200?? or tammy 70-300 compared to kitlens SAL75300?

Braynumb, the Sony 55-200mm F4-5.6 DT is a rebadge of the Tamron 55-200mm F4-5.6, with a different coating and circular aperture. (Not sure if the Tamron has circular aperture also.) The Sony has a 55mm filter thread to be consistent with the other Sony lenses while the Tamron has a 52mm filter thread.

from what i read in reviews...the tamron 70-300 and sigma 70-300 is better than SAL75300. i would go for sigma..they give a lens bag too..
