Actually the older version of wii is better as you can install BootMii in boot2. I just perform the region change for wii from jp to us version. Now I can boot game directly for US version without running Gecko.

NINTENDO DOWNLOAD: DISCOVER NEW LOSTWINDS, NUMEROUS DOMO GAMES AND A TRUE ARCADE CLASSIC

Oct. 19, 2009

Eight is great for gamers this week as Nintendo adds eight new titles to its ever-growing library of downloadable games. First on the list is LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias, a follow-up to one of the most popular releases on the WiiWare™ service. Next, Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem makes survival of the fittest the law of the land. Meanwhile, Nintendo DSiWare™ welcomes Domo™, a strange creature who hatched from an egg. Also known as the popular mascot of Japan's NHK television station, Domo stars in five separate new Nintendo DSiWare games. Topping it off is RYGAR™, a 1980s arcade gem making its Virtual Console™ debut.

WiiWare

Enril the Wind Spirit returns to protect and guide young Toku by powering his jumps, aiding his glides and smashing his enemies. An evil adversary binds the fate of Toku's mother, Magdi, and the ancient Melodia civilization. To save Magdi, Toku and Enril must face new foes, enlist friends old and new, and wield incredible new powers - including the ability to switch the very seasons themselves - as they explore the diverse, richly interactive Chilling Peaks and Melodia City areas of the magical land of Mistralis. This enchanting, exhilarating, explorative game play experience is bursting with new ideas that make exceptional use of the Wii Remote™ controller. The awesome power of the Wind is back in the palm of your hand.

Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem

ESRB Rating: E10+ (Everyone 10 and Older) - Crude Humor, Mild Fantasy Violence, Suggestive Themes
Price: 500 Wii Points

The controls are simple: Move the character with the control stick, adjust the crosshairs with the Wii Remote controller and shoot down targets while dodging enemy attacks. Getting hit by an enemy bullet or touching an enemy close to you will count as a miss. With each miss, you'll lose one heart; losing all hearts will end the game.

I prefer to play '80 and '90s arcade game on MAME emulator with proper joystick with 8 buttons. This is the way I remember spending countless coin the machine. Virtual Console is a no go for me. More like playing NES game.

Well, virtual console includes all, so its no surprise you feel as such. biggrin.gif

But I do agree with you that certain games could enjoy an arcade stick instead. I don't know the compatibility of the Hori Stick though.

after further research, i found out can, but u need to send it to nintendo. but since there is no local presence, so need to send to nintendo US. So, i am out of luck. dlc sucks like that. if your console konk, or u change console, or when you buy the next wii HD, here goes your dlc. i think your VC and wii ware also u can say bye bye.

Thinking of selling/giving to my relative, and get another one. but looks like i have to ask him to get his own.

yeah, that's sad for wii. coz ps3/xbox360 don't have the same problem.

so to summarize, if have the following intentions:
1. change your wii coz your wii rosak
2. if u have a friend that share the wii, so some games are his and some games are yours. Now you going separate ways. So you need to get a new console. The games that are yours, u want to transfer your game/game data/dlc over to your new console. and the ones that are his can remain in the old console.
3. If Wii 2 comes out in the future, i hope we can transfer game data to the new console, but i doubt we can do that without involving nintendo (99% sure). so although wii 2 in backward compatible, u have to keep your old console to play old games that rely on game data/dlc

then u are screwed for now. maybe nintendo will decide to setup shop here in malaysia in the near future, say year 303030, then u be ok. but until then, u are screwed.

of course u can do the illegal way, but if u want to go to heaven, or it is too much hassle for a busy man like me (i belong to the later group), don't even think about it.

I have a friend in the US who has his Wii Shop purchases transferred over to a new Wii when the old one broke by exchanging e-mail with Nintendo. So maybe for those who buy new Wii and dun want to repair the old one can just do this and the purchases from the Wii Shop can transfer. The spoilt Wii will not be able to access Wii Shop again after you do that tho, if you get it repaired.

malaysia sells us version. which is english. in malaysia japanese version, which is in japanese, is difficult to find.

if u go to a less reputable shop, they will confuse further with japanese/us/korean version etc.... and will continue to confuse u about undocumented features and all that jazz. in the more reputable shops, they only sell us version, so trust latter shop and go for us version.

Do you recommend a shop that is reputable in low yat. they throw all these bundle games...like 10 games...and they start confusing me. Basically..i just wanna get the system with two controllers and two nunchucks and that wii sports.
