i think in malaysia, most game shops that sells an ori wii has like 10 korean wii's in their stock (excluding ninty's shop of course)...and besides, if you really put some thought into the price of ori games...

by purchasing an ori wii game = price of an ori blue ray PS3 games so...which console would people target to buy considering that there is no pirated blue ray games out there as of time...XD

not that i'm supporting piracy but it's one of those factors that why piracy still exist and is really difficult to curb in malaysia (and other countries like US as well...i mean, if you've done your research abt piracy within the U.S country for wii games...you will be surprised by the amount there too as well)...=)

actually, i think modders in malaysia is not really that "much" in comparison to the states or singapore

however, pirated goods are an abundance here in comparison to those countries

for sg and u.s., if the people are modders, they will source the game from the net, download it and play...and if you read some of their comments, a pirated game cost them about 1 USD there, while in malaysia 8~10 ringgit

game shops aren't bringing in the wii titles are probably more concerned over piracy...and the fact that they know that many wii's in malaysia are korean modded wii, hence, not many ori goods are sellable...that's my opinion and it may be a part of the truth, don't you agree?

and besides, if you import the game from PA...there will be occasional discounts while if you opt to purchase a game from these game shops...it's always at the same price...so...why do you want to buy "that" game at "that" price?

well, this year, there's mario galaxy 2, zelda wii and metroid: other M coming to the wii

the wii state isn't depressing, but it's slowly cooling down due to the market becoming more saturated with wiis...the console is still selling pretty well overall...just not as much/fast as last time

wii games rental i think could be done at gamers hideout...i dunno does kyo provide this service though...he may do it just for you if you ask him nicely...=p

anyway, i think the 360 should be more popular because of "cheaper" games available...XD

an ori wii cannot play a jap region game
US = NTSC - U
Jap = NTSC - J

different region = cannot load / region locked

anyway, if you are buying a modded wii, you should not update your wii via the connect 24 function as it will brick your wii (if it's a korean wii), you can however, update it via the softmod method

you can safely play an ori wii game in a modded wii, but only with the backup channel, because if you play an ori game with the game disc channel, it will most likely prompt you to update your wii, and the above is the consequence

if you get a modded US wii, if you really would like to update to the latest firmware...it will not brick your wii, but there are "talks" going out in the community that there are cases of unsuccessful updates which kinda bricks your wii (as it formats the NAND memory) to get rid of the homebrew channel

it's of course safer to update a modded US wii though, but you may end up erasing your own Homebrew Channel in the process...XD

p.s. unsuccessful updates = something wrong with your internet connection and suddenly the update got "lost" in cyberspace = wii ggfied...and since it's modded, ninty doesn't provide you the warranty...XD

to be honest, i played MHtri for a while and i find it really boring...=_=", probably MH games just isn't for me...>.<"

anyway, besides MH, there are still lots of interesting games out there for the wii, and the upcoming games from ninty (metroid prime M, kirby, zelda, etc,) and other 3rd party devs (lost story, arc rise fantasia, tales of graces, etc)...will probably make your wii worth the purchase...

maybe your laser's broken then?

you could most likely take it to any shops which does repairs for xbox / ps3s...and try to get a fix there...or maybe the land of conman (sungei wang)...and hope that some ppl there would be able to fix it without conning you at all...if u get what i mean...lol
