afif, i'm not talking about updating the firmware...but just using the news and weather channel...unless of course, you will need to update your firmware to use the weather and news channel that is

disc channel cannot stop updates on a softmodded wii...

the only way you can stop updates by using an ori disc is by using the loaders

wow, that's good to hear...so, the pricing of the console is still the same as the normal US version?

i see...

maybe you should have tested an Asian unit just to check the differences between the US vs the Asian console..who know's...it may be multiregional...=p (if NTSC-U is unplayable...then it is crappy...XD)

if your pal is modded, then of course...

if it's not...then you will not be able to play it...try to change it with your gameshop?

you can go to official ninty stores located at carrefore and mid valley jusco and make your ori purchases there too...games sold there are rm200 each though...hence PA will be cheaper (as i think they give discounts)

like what ramz said, brazil is the country...

reason is because brazil accepts credit card payment while the US region does not...you need physical cards...

sometimes, you gotta wonder whether does the mol paying system exists out there for wii points...XD

homebrew is only good if you know what you are doing...basically, it ain't dangerous...unless you are playing with important data (which you will need to know which is which before attempting it)

you can play dvd's on your wii

it's not difficult...that is if you've purchased a korean wii from malaysia

the hard part is only to understand how HBC works and if you got that figured out, you will be able to do wonders with that "minor" knowledge...LOL

well, i think that the pc is able to do many things a console can't, even in comparison to the PS3 or the Xbox360

i mean that, one day, the PC will be able to read blue rays too...if you get the player to fit the compartment that is

other than that...i really can't say that a modded wii, xbox 360 or the PS3 would be superior than a PC

korean wii is cheaper in the market, but probably is sold as expensive as a Jap wii in malaysia

korean wii is missing the GC disc drive, Jap wii has it

korean wii has some channel issues when you purchase it, probably the jap wii don't have the issue

modding a korean wii is more dangerous in comparison to modding a jap wii as bricking issues are more common in comparison to the jap wii

i can't think of any more right now...probably some of you would like to add on to the list?XD

er...what can i tell ya?...enjoy your game?

it's kinda weird playing wii games on a PC...but well, not like there isn't anyone out there doing so either

anyway...it's pretty amazing that you aren't experiencing any framerate issues though...a lot of console games don't run well on PC's because of framerate issues

i recommend using rechargeable batteries as they will allow you to reduce the cost of purchasing batteries...and it is more environment friendly too i guess...XD

anyway, there are cheap AA batteries too in the market lately...like first choice batteries...and Carrefour brand batteries...you can buy those batteries like from RM8 for 10 batteries

er...about the battery pack...you may be a lucky owner...but a majority of them (including me)...owns a faulty battery pack which doesn't even hold its charge more than 5-8 hrs although i've charged it to the max (which is 3 bars)

anyway, i bought mine together with my wii...and it cost me RM80 for it...=(...

modders talk about what loudly? the benefits of modding a console?

well, of course there are benefits, but if you don't know anything about modding, it's better if you buy the original machine

for instance, when i purchased my wii, unknowingly that it's from korea, i found that my mii and photo channel ain't working

i was pretty much unhappy with that fact...lol (even the shop which sold me the wii had no idea how to deal with that problem and i had to ask my friend google to help me resolve it...XD)

i mean, come on...are you happy with your purchase when the two main channels not working?>.<"

why didn't i purchase it from a trustworthy shop?...well, like i know that the shop ain't selling an American (original) wii when i was a wii newbie...LOL

to be quite honest, all those "plastic" accessories are all unnecessary, unless you want them because they are "cool" in looking...

otherwise, it may hinder some gameplay experience or even increases the % of damaging your surroundings...if you get what i mean...lol
