my fav is http://www.metacritic.com/games/wii/. it is damn good coz it consolidates the reviews. i don't pay attention to the score reviewers give though, except if it is below 50/100 (nobody gives a good game below 50)

2 malaysian bad habits that i am disgusted: piracy and littering.

most games for the wii are family games. mature games i wouldn't tak banyak, but ratio wise u can't beat ps3/360. then u have the kiddy/'please don't ever make games like this' games. if i were to put a ratio on family:kiddy/silly:mature games it would look like this:
50:30:20

i started off with the wii. up to today i am satisfied with it because its really is a family bonding tool. but deep inside me i know i am missing something. i play pc games too, but i use my pc for work, so i can't belasah the pc with games only. besides, my pc is coming on 2 years, and new games can't play on it anymore. so recently i bought a ps3, and that really fills the gaps i have been craving for: mature games. wii have great mature games, but mature games on the ps3 is premium, as how family games on the wii is premium. So what should u get: i say get both, coz only with 2 consoles i feel complete. but if u need to choose only one, get what u place most priority: family games or mature games. as they say, family always comes first. and that is why wii is so damn popular.

yeah, those r d games i longing for. but slowly lah, 1 game per month. but since i got the ps3 one thing that really stands out: its easy to get 2nd hand games! kalau wii, coz nearly everybody is playing pasar malam games, is hard to find them. In LYN garage sale, 2nd ps3 games for sale beats wii games 25 to 1. i can find 2 year old titles for as little as 80rm or less. i find ps3 games cheaper in that aspect. actually even new games then to be cheaper. just wait a few weeks, and people will start selling their new games they bought. i can never do that on the wii, not in malaysia at least.

i don't know lah, to be very honest it is not fun owning an unmodded wii in malaysia. I was in philippine for a long time, and i never had problems trading new and 2nd hand wii games.

the way to solve the error 003 is to find a shop that can do it. maybe someone can help in this forum, but if u haven't found one coz there is not too many. although i heard isolated stories that it can be solved, the most common outcome to this problem is u should just buy new one.

1. softmod is when you modify your wii by changing the factory default software (also called firmware). it is unauthorized by nintendo and with its risk. gbatemp.net, afterdawn.com, wiihacks.com.

not here to solve your problem. but to tell u why u having this problem. NSMB wii got advance copy protection that tak ngaam with modded wiis. For hardmodded wii (chipped wii), there is no solution to date by the 'invinsible' modding community. but for softmodded there is already a way, but as usual is not straight forward like ABC. if u rajin go learn more about it in hacking forums. if u tak rajin, maybe somebody in this forum can help u (sorry i am dumb too when comes to modding)

i think what gundamalpha is saying is just update your firmware to version 4.2. That will effectively remove all the sofmod crap u have (4.2. does that with or without your consent, with pleasure), then u can play your NSMB. correct mr gundamalpha?

sure will! but next year. i have temporary seperated with my ps3 coz i am on christmas holiday.

anyway fyi, i m not online often on my ps3. is a long story, but the short version is i am constantly on the move (but i do drag that bulky thing with me). so i only have this usb mobile modem that connects me to the internet. i can still connect my ps3 via ICS, but is very mafaan as need to do a 3 minute setup. and as u know usb mobile modem is not good for online playing. so i only use it for game updates. there isn't any broadband on market that are mobile and low latency at the moment. so damn xien man.

1. possible, but may have side affects. what side affect depends on the chip. so u need to research first before attempting to upgrade. don't mod and u won't get complicating answers.

since u already mod, is no help what i just said. but just saying don't update won't help either. coz it is somtimes not u who updated it. it could be your baby brother, dog, cat, or alter ego etc who did it. furthermore, u don't have to be online to initiate an update. even if u sumbat a game disc the update will initiate.

i think there is a way to block updates through softmod so that u won't accidently update. afif please elaborate. i don't have hands on experience on modding.

so u saying if u sumbat an ori game in the disc channel of a softmodded wii, u can't block updates? even if u use those hbc applications to boot your ori game disc also can't block updates? (i am referring to ori game disc. for pirated, i know modders rajin to buat macam macam to 'scrub' the update portion of the game disc so it won't be there anymore)

i dono how much an original power adapter will cost. but i bought a china made wu brand 220V adapter at rm40 about 1 year ago. and i have been using it ever since without a single problem.

i am currently not at home (that's how my job is like), but i am very sure it is dual voltage, meaning 110V also can, 220V also can. I am sure any adapter made for the wii will do. doesn't have to be original. hope that helps. sorry can't give u any details.

It could just be a labelling gimmick, therefore everything else is still equal a us console. i hope not, but if it is can i kindly clarify

most modded wii sold in malaysia are softmodded. especially the newer ones. softmod cost nothing, whereas hardmod need to buy the chip. so it makes more sense for the sellers with softmod

btw, modded sellers won't give u the latest mod chip. they already irresponsible in modding the wii, so u think they so responsible in giving u the latest chip?

4.2U update will only brick a korean wii that underwent a sex change. If your wii didn't do a sex change 4.2 update is perfectly fine. It will only remove your homebrew and such, but it will still work.

modded korean wii is the biggest malaysian scam. lot of buyers buy from these sellers thinking they got a good deal. then after a few months when its time to update the wii, all hell break loose. then these sellers again make money from the 'maintenance' fees.

Malaysia boleh.

I expect the update to be automatic. people like darksider know that they will need to maintain the hard way. but most samaritans out there are not even aware. most people are NOT computer illeterate, and i don't blame them. they didn't buy the wii to learn about computers.
