last year one hakat quote me 6k+installation+new timing belt+clutch+other small thing...my dad know the tokei...so only me can get that price...

:s after changing extractor and 1.7" pipe...car power sialll!!! touch 150 easily den stop there...hahhaa...

FC so far so good...feels like better than before this..coz today whole day i play tekan minyak..turun a bit oni

after this tank finish, pump full and drive properly..see full tank can go how many km rclxm9.gif

recently the temperature meter seemed to go up when i cruise on the highway during hot day
it was fine last time sad.gif

dude for my case the radiator has a small tiny hole and it's giving me hell lucky i drive to college only the car break down ... it could be piping @@ see if the water tank is empty or not because mine is like few days later water tankies is empty then i did not notice .....

mine doesnt seem to be emptying itself
i dont think it's the thermostat's problem(removed quite sometime ago, so my radiator fan is full blast whenever the engine's on)

u should have change muffler as well...there is still restriction on the flow...
maybe if u want it to sound better, change the muffler tips... it will be better...
im using stock exhaust system but change muffler tips only

not hks air filter...it lets extra air go into the engine...got a pressure meter to see and a screw to adjust amount of air..

lol same as me, i changed piping 1.7", 4-2-1 extractor, but my diff from yours is i installed a bullet in centre. muffler still stock (but that may change this week). Question to sifu's here, is changing to a s-flow twin pipe (out 3") good? i've been given the option of either this, or an s-flow single pipe, both also 3" so same performance to be expected? the single pipe version has a sportier sound, but the twin pipe is very muffled, same as perdana? i drive on highway sometimes so i try not to get too loud, else need panadol after a few hours on the highway! rclxub.gif

usually hit around 120kph at 3.5-4k RPM, this is the range i'm more concerned about in highways.
how is the sound on yours? it's quite a dilemma actually. i love sporty sounds (which of you dont? hehe) but not too loud, else become (i) like ah beng, or (ii) headache at highway cruising

eh if like this, when the day comes if my engine needs overhaul, i might as well get a perdana engine and dump into the engine bay? almost same cost rite??? but need to get gearbox + other parts or not? or can keep existing wira parts except engine? (as can guess, i dont even know what kinda engine the SEi is using, nor the v6)

still can endorse.. but will need 'extra' greeny liao..
mine is 1.5 to 1.8T

to get 1.8 putra/sti engine, very difficult. somemore the price is at around 1.6mivec price. so, for me, i would choose 1.6mivec liao loh.
also, very rare to find 1.8 putra/sti engine, because it's seldom for them to change their engine since the engine is quite torqy liao..

4g13p, 4g15p, 4g91, 4g92(mivec), 4g93(t), all share the same engine mounting. jpj approve de. but 1.3 to 1.8, no approve loh.
4g93 last time i enquire is at around 6k.

Normally for mine, at 3.5K onwards, sound of the engine can hear louder than exhaust, you know ler Wira's NVH not that good 1

it's possible to put 6a10 inside wira/satria/putra, but why BOT? will shorten the engine lifespan if wasnt correctly done. and most story i heard is, never get perfection de BOT. problem here and there. so , live with it, or sell it. kekeeke

hafltcut more expensive due to more n more ppl swap engines (easy shortcut for quick power boost) nowadays compared to few years back, when "car mod" is usually about keeping the existing engine but making it faster. demand for MMC engines still high, unless u look for those not-so-popular models, maybe still can get cheap gua?

btw, why would Ron97 increase price will cause halfcut increase too? i thought would decrease? hmm.gif
higher L engine means higher FC, no? dont include under-powered power/weight type la, of coz.

6. dah selesai baru bawak geran, cover note insuran baru,surat kastam, surat puspakom, salinan ic dan jgn lupa isi borang perubahan no enjin. borang ada kat JPJ. pastu pegi kat jpj kalau kat wangsa maju kat tingkat satu. potong no enjin free jer. dah siap potong no enjin n masuk kat sistem baru pegi buat roadtax pulak. roadtax 1.8 rm297 setahun. jika roadtax lama masih hidup nanti dia akan kira balik. tak sampai rm297 la..pastu selesai...

ini adalah berdasarkan pengalaman aku. (tapi yang hantar borang2 kat kawalselia bukan aku sendiri, aku suruh member n bg dia duit kopi sikit. malas nak pegi jauh sangat). kalau korang buat lain aku tak tau..

hahaha i got a car with 4G63 without any jpj pass for around one year
the car did not mod much and my dad was lazy to send to puspakom
and now the car is still on the road without pass , just hope don't have any accident la if not cannot claim X D.

the cap recommended is 0.9...what if i use 1.1?

the engine oil cap seal thing...i saw an abandoned car...door everything radiator kena curi..left engine, gearbox and chasis only..so i curi the cap la then i replace my rubber whistling.gif

when was that written? AFAIK, 1.3 wira is not legal for transplant to 1.8 (reason, the car chasis cant support the bigger hp engine woh. also 1.3 wira and 1.5 wira chasis is made differently de.. 1.6 also different. from what i heard.)
then 1.5, 1.6 can only go to 1.8
1.8 will remain 1.8 (reason, the car chasis is limited to 1.8 engine only)

aiyah.. as long as you have the greeny. you wanna make wira flyin with wings also can lah.

guys, i realise tat my car got water leaking..
just now when i make a U-turn to park infront of my house... i saw the water leaked from my car... as in i saw the water on the floor...
any idea wat is happening?

wow this morning startup the car to let it warm up, notice the idling sounded louder than usual. i went out the car to open the house gate, saw lots of white smoke coming out of the exhaust! but since it rained very heavy last nite and it was chilly this morning, i hope it is normal??? after drive few minutes, no more smoke liao. ok hor? need to be careful or anything ma?

I own a wira too! Infact 2 of them and both auto! mad.gif

One question. When ur Wira is idling... the aircond no longer blow cold air... anyone of u experience it before? Cuz 2 of the wira i own also same thing... but after when ur out in the highway, it's okay back.

I don't think Myvi is like that or other car huh?

I don't think Myvi is like that or other car huh?

this one happens to older compressor units, i think.
coz my kenari have this same problem. i thought send for service can fix, but the denso guy told me its due to old compressor or something like that (been 2 years, forgot details di). but even if your car is idle, if you feel hot, just press on the gas pedal a bit (example, raise RPM by 200-300) you will get cold air again. not really serious la, i guess.

talking bout myvi. just now, after lunch. on the road back to office. a myvi 'cucuk' me really close. once he rev up and tries to overtake me from the inside lane (left side), i shift to 3rd gear and smoke him!
hahaha.. he thinks wira is easy to defeat meh..

dont worry, no rust de lah. you put sticker may make it worse. sticker may contain water longer, causing more rust.
but after you go for painting, the rust will be gone eventually.. kekekek...

why so many things happen to you? got go sembahyang boh?

maybe ur compressor running low... higher rpm will make the compressor faster and therefore air cond will be colder...

rm150 fly away.... lucky only at the door and didnt reach until the fender/mudguard area, else more parts to sand/spray.
but i havent thorough check the damages yet (coz happen during lunch time). i think the side mirror still can use la, no break, but badly scratched lor, the housing. mine is black housing (no paint) so lets see how la... cannot spend so much $$$ coz now already kinda broke. must buy lottery the number plate see kena or not. if kena, i tukar engine!

for those who are changing over to Ron95 come September, dont forget to compare your mileage.
i have this feeling that using the "cheaper" Ron95 may actually be more expensive due to more L/km ?

u can try to remove the tank, wash with come acidic cleaner, brush it and clean it thoroughly den fix it back

my spare radiator tank got rust also last time...
i just flush evtg out..flush my radiator as well..
just try try lor...
then pour in new coolant..
and it lasts till today...no more rust..
i wonder wat happened in the 1st place lor..

but my friend iswara aa...if use ron 97...got more vibrate...use ron 92 no vibrate...but fc still the same...i accidentally pour in ron 92...then i notice the engine no vibrate when idling...if ron 97...walawei...shake shake shake...

i think i'm one of the first testing the ron95 as its already being intro at precinct 9 putrajaya.... just take a full tank today... and seriously... my engine hate it... donno tomorrow morning going to test it again... maybe its still mix with a little bit of ron92

ah btw.. my car is wira 1.6 using 4g93 engine...

@andrew, u had my problem, refer to v18 for the solution, the culprit is the 'air cond motor', when idle no air cond coz it cant move and ntg to cool the radiator, while u r running on highway speed, wind blow towards the radiator thus the compressor able to produce cold air. thats was my problem, might be the wrong part of ur ride, but better to check it out with ur mechanic.

today fill in ron 95 also the fuel light already light up... i drive from home to work with a light up bling bling fuel light... tomorrow morning reconfirm la... i already push the car like crazy on the kl-putrajaya highway today... cannot go at all... my top speed drop down to 140km only... usually can push until 180km... tomorrow morning test again... if you guys see some crazy green wira car tomorrow at kl-putrajaya highway give way please eh... hehehe...

huh... just arrived at my office... just test my car with ron 95 for 2nd time.. it still like hell but a little bit better then yesterday... but the sound of the engine scare the shit out of me... lolz... rpm meter steady at 4 and top speed at 173km as being record by my faithful garmin... car meter at 180km... but to reach that need help from the good old bumpy geography of the beloved kl-putrajaya road which i dont usually need to... dont dare to push my throttle to max... pickup... doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif terrible... torque... doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

my conclusion... 4g93 + won 95... not suitable at all...

my previous 1.5AT wira, can go 165km/h with 4 person on board. and four bag at rear.
well, the rpm is extremely high. and can smell rubber burn when hold that speed too long.

agree. it's radiator problem. i got experience this before. my radiator was stuck with rusty parts (dunno came from where), and blocked the water from going into the cooling fin.

i got voltage stabilizer. not sure about performance upgrade. but my ICE sure have improvement. the bass more solid.

i think, the air cond become hot is because the compressor is not working (thermostat off it) when it reaches 'destinated' temperature. then turn it back on (compressor working) when the temperature raise above the setting.
could it be your thermostat is getting 'old'? what temp did you set? min cold / max cold ?
and your hot is , how hot? when air coming out is hot, probably your radiator is not efficient, thats why it brings hot air into the car.

but atm,i have plans to buy a proton wira 2nd hand car
actually my friend want to sell to me his car....his dad gave him a Gen2
below is a very very general detail about his car.lolx
auto car/white color/10-11 years old/
and when talked about the price he mentioned RM10k....no proper discussion had been done yet
of course i as a fresh grad, i would definitely need a car by now
so of course..RM10k sounds cheap to me, i would really be interested in buying it
however im also aware of car being to old/faulty/etcetc
but i trust my close friend(classmate of mine for like 5 years)
he said that the car is still in good condition...i doubt he will con me

alright, whats my next step?...i know theres lots to be done
hope some1 here can help me on my next step

yours a wira? which year de. i know newer version wira cant tune engine this way. (need computer)
for the older one, can tune this way, but i see the sifu will ground one 'connection' before turning the screw.
release how much, that is depends on how high idling you want loh.

If im not mistaken, should be 1997-2000. Cuz 2001 and above is using Siemens vdo. While 1997 till 2000 is using MMC. Only MMC can tune by turning the screw.

Last night my car broke down, I'm not sure what's the problem. I guess my bad not monitoring water level.

While driving from college, I just realized that my a/c wasn't cold as always, then temp level at max, damn so I stopped at the nearest Petronas Nilai. When fully stopped, something blown in front I'm not sure, gasket I guess. After calling my friend asking for guidance what to do, I filled water in the radiator but it did not full after several bottles. When I tried to start, the temp ok already so I started to drive when the temp goes up again slowly. So I run back to college about 10km and the car went dead halfway cun cun at traffic light, in front some more. Now at workshop, tomorrow gonna have a look what's the problem.

vr easy only mar... open ur bonnet let ur car idle 15mins... see radiator fan got spin or not when it reaches operating temp.... if no spin until it goes above middle line means fan kantoi adi lor...

to check leak or not, fill up ur radiator and close all caps... drive to somewhere dry... idle da car for 15mins, in between try revving ur car abit... check bottom see got water drip or not....

Now at workshop already. I think radiator leak, because I stopped at Petronas floor area, bottom of my car all wet. Then the fan also maybe too, because after filling water and temp cool down, then temp started to go up. Aiyo, hope nothing much, otherwise, later my wallet goes dry.

next time, install a temperature gauge with warning light/sound. dont repeat mistake.

try lower the pressure...lower pressure which make the tire more flatten...
currently im using falken ziex 912... not bad and i like the tread look...
my uncle work place worker said it very grippy...
maybe for those normal use i believe it is grippy but for those high speed and attacking corner... i dont think so

stock rim as is in what rim inch size? mine last time, 13 inch steel rim. skid like mad. my aeroback always shake butt.
change to 15inch. all those nonsense gone. but sacrifice fc, acceleration.
ai.. safety first. braking also better.
when i was in 13inch. emergency brake will feel the tyre bounce off the floor then only stop. (krh krh krrrrrhhhhh)

wira stock 13 rim size better don't pump 34 psi. Its very dangerous. I tried to pump that amount of pressure before. When emergency brake during dry weather, the tyre will lock and skid all the way to the front. When you check the road there, no tyre stain at all.

And then when rain, u just step the brake slightly more than half only, the tyre will straight lock and skid already. Worst somemore it might steer the car to another side....

for fc wise, it really saves a lot . But life is precious, i dare not risk the fc for my life... wink.gif

coz on saturday i drove up genting, it was sunny and dry... no problem (some more is uphill drive)
but on the downhill at 7pm, it rained, and my car skidded twice. Once was during a sharp and steep downhill corner, the rear just went off and my car went into slight oversteer. it was blardy unnerving because there were cars around me. Let go brake a bit, hit again... Lucky grip came back and didnt hit to the car on my right (was taking sharp left turn). Then, another time was another steep downhill slope, road was wet (raining ma) and due to fog, suddenly see speed bump at the end of that steep slope, stepped on brake and car lost traction again... slide all the over and over the bloody speedbump. grip came back after the bump *phew. After that 2 incidents, enough liao, the remaining of the downhill was done using 2nd gear sweat.gif after the last police checkpoint, dry roads again, so here can speed up liao coz the corners are gentle and same for the slopes. But saw an over-turned trailer halfway (i think it lost control suring one of the turns) and reminded self not to get over-eager and take corners too fast blush.gif anyway, my stupid tyres are Continentals. When told my bro about it, he said he had bad experience in the wet with the same tyres on his Wira too. Both of us agreed that we will never use Continentals ever again (btw, same for SIME tyres, had it on an old Tiara, fair on dry, poor on wet)

my previous continental wasted me alot of time and money... air keep leaking on the sidewalls. no remedy, no cures. put silicone la.. sand paper la.. blablabla..

i was kind hearted enough to let the tyres flat out on me 3 times (on the right), 2 times (on the left). then i change tyre. no money at that time, but have credit mah.. swipe loh. pay later (or think later) kekekeke.. safety first.

ive got a wira 2002 1.5 year 02 auto..what can i do to increase power? Im not looking to swap engines, just simple mods. Does K&N air filters do any help??

for myself.... without swap engine, change the intake and exhaust system - with exhaust system first (change extractor, remove cat con, increase piping size), then the intake system (drop in K&N should work better). can feel power coming at earlier RPMs. will change mufflers too so can get to top speed faster, but right now (see earlier posts) i wanna concentrate of fixing/painting car, and change those stupid tyres for more grip.

how much increase are you looking at? if only minor adjustment, then you can look at below mod.
1.open pod filter (k&n la, hks la, whatever brand)
2.4-2-1 ekstractor, aftermkt centre box(restrictive type), aftermkt muffler(s-type).
3.At least, semisyn engine oil. (rev easier)

thats IMO.

hey thanks to all those that have replied. Ok firstly most for you guys said to install the filters right. Which kind works best? Open pod? Just about how much power can I possibly get with a fully stock wira 1.5 auto with an open pod? Budget, im only 17 lah..so Im sure i cant afford turbo ( i wish ). So maybe stuff by the hundreds first la..thanks yall

When told my bro about it, he said he had bad experience in the wet with the same tyres on his Wira too. Both of us agreed that we will never use Continentals ever again (btw, same for SIME tyres, had it on an old Tiara, fair on dry, poor on wet)

how much power increase with only OPEN POD modification?? i think, a few hp kua, or not at all.. but definitely, the car rev better and you feel the acceleration is better.
but that also increase your FC because you'll keep reving!! kekeke..
personally, because our car is ECU controlled, so, unless we change bigger injector, bigger fuel pump, aftermkt ecu. i doubt that we can increase LOTS of HP by altering the air intake system & exhaust system.

eh, my car also standard ma. i think your tyre same as mine, continental comfort-something (cant be bothered to remember). I dont have problems with it for normal driving, BUT if the road is wet, raining, or you're carrying some load, these tyres can lose traction very easily, even in the dry! My bro's experience was in dry conditions, smooth nice tarmac road. He e-brake from a mere 40kph the car already slide forward. imagine la... total crap tyres. My own experience was wet conditions, downhill slope. Was going only 3rd gear maybe 40kph also? applied SOME brakes already lost traction and car slides forward, these tyres are really WTF mad.gif like u said normal driving, even 120kph on highway, should be OK, but i already lost trust and confidence on these tyres (maybe keep them for drift practice sweat.gif lol)

got it from an email lar, but i post only the photos here. anyway, here was the original story like... this BMW was cruising at more than 200kph on some country road, then hit a kangaroo who jumped in front of the car. The driver quickly stopped his car, went down to check, see damaged grill and bumper, with blood on them....but cant find the dead kangaroo's body anywhere on the street. But later when he opened the bonnet to check, see the whole carcass in there.

u no need the turbo one...im using oil temp...cost me rm 900 for one meter + one control unit...brand new la off course...u need vacuum,oil press,oil temp,water temp...go for branded one...avoid autogauge...reading not accurate...u had choose the almost correct gauges...

now, my car without roadtax (the 1.5cc roadtax got cancelled out since now is 1.8)
but at least, my car pass all puspakom testing. *phew*
tomorrow my ride will be legal on road liao (that is i can get my *new* road tax) kekekeke

used on 07... the stupid tire shop tat i always visit give me lousy old tire..
now i know my relative work in jalan kapar tire shop... maybe can get cheaper

now me using stock 13'' rim
anyone know this stock rim weight??
because i wanna upgrade to 15''
but scare my car will underpower too much

keke.. i dunno bout the weight, but if upgrade to 15inch, sure will sacrifice FC & acceleration. but in return, you get safety, and also the 'looks'.
if got money, get reallllly light rim loh.. then you wont suffer too much.
some, i see 1.3cc still dare to put in 17inch rim.. well, they only matter bout how the car looks only, others.. (fc etc...) dont care loh.

i think about 5.5kg~is it ok?
me now pick up feel underpower but top speed can go 190
so i scare after change 15'' cant move oredi shakehead.gif
