I'm using the Pdair flip top eather case, works great.

No Diamond 2 today screen is portrait only.

Don't get the aluminium cases, they zap signal strength, and possibly makes GPS go a bit wonky. I tried it and regreted it on my old Diamond. Imagine how bad it can be on the D2?

Well.. maybe if it's only lined in some areas it's different from being surrounded by aluminium..

2 reasons

1. You really have a LOT of messages.
2. The threaded view is not working out too well for you. Goto Start->Settings->All Settings->System Tab->Text Messaging->Text Message Layout->Classic->Done->Restart phone

Then again with 3 years of messages who know how well it'd work?

Nothing wrong with charging from the USB port, just that it'll take longer since the current is less

You can hold the END CALL button to bring up a menu to lock the phone

If you want to do it faster

Start -> Settings -> All Settings -> Personal -> Buttons -> End Key tab

the exact first time starting? how long did you wait? you sure it wasn't stuck in the initial setup screen? it takes a while the fist time cause it's installing the base apps if you did interuppt it, lets just say that won't be good.

Diamond 2 already has chinese input preinstalled, no need to find chinese star unless you need hand writing input.

If i recall correctly you need a Wide VGA patch or something like that cause the game doesn't support our wide screens

Whenever you try to run an new unsigned program on your phone, it'll ask you if you want to do it, just don't run anything you are not sure of.

That WakeUpOnSMS thing seems to be one of the last bugs they need to iron out. It's been there for a while, I don't know while HTC chooses to disable WakeUpOnSMS since it never works properly anyway.

While that is true, the tradeoff now is that users aren't getting messages delivered to them on time which is worse than losing a few minutes of battery life. Unless you tell me you set your phone to not sleep on battery power.

Few things to note
- Have you used QuickGPS to download the sat data?
- HELP your GPS get the initial fix by telling it where you are. (I assume you're refering to Garmin XT right?) from the main screen of garmin, tap on signal bar on top left of the screen to get to GPS Selection, then tap GPS Info, you'll see a screen that talks about acquiring satelites, now hit the New Location button, select the location where you are on the map (this will be extra hard the first time you start since you'll start from US I think) and press OK.
- Don't be moving while getting the initial fix, stay still.

From ACE hardware I found a CRYSTAL edition holder, it comes with both a sucker and air cond vent holder. But the air cond vent one sucks IMHO. Use the sucker one and attach to middle of windscreen, then people won't be able to just reach in and grab.

Also, turning off 3G so the phone doesn't try to acquire a 3G signal in a non 3G area helps a LOT with battery life.

yeah, but then the screen turns off 10 seconds from idle... not good when you're reading stuff

Think someone ordered it online in a few pages back.

Would you by any chance have went into the Settings->Sound and then toggled "Event Sounds" before? That resets a lot of things... very very big problem if you manually enabled other event sounds.
