Hi! How frequent you all charge the phone in one day? Me at least have to charge twice. One in the morning, one in the evening... and is just a very mild usage. I already off the 3G connection.

What do you run on your phone? That's quite heavy, as if you've been browsing the net all the time, or listening to music.

But somehow i'm still being charged for 3G, call up Celcom a few times to complain, they say it is due to my phone settings, and i'm using internet, but i always connect thru Wifo, this really baffle me.

Can you guys educate me how can i switch off this 3G data connection and edge data connection? So i cant use Celcom internet automatically?

If you dont actually use the data connection, then you just should just remove the connection from your phone. Then it'll never unknowingly transmit data.

I like this type of casing. where to buy?

If my experience with Aluminium cases and the old Diamond 1 is anythign to go with, please don't get an aluminium case, it zaps the cellular reception quite a bit, and I think it drives GPS reception nuts.

Hmmm.. well I actually would just like to get the front screen one, and not full body, then just get one of those stonger silicon cases.

Anyone planning to get a D2 should wait till AFTER next Sunday. Just to confirm on any announcements regarding WM 6.5 upgradability.

In the USA, Oct 6 is Windows Phone launch date. So here it's around Oct 7. There's an event happening in Sunway Pyramid on Friday. As for our D2 ROM Updates..

NOTHING SOLID YET.

Yes... websites all over the place reporting we're gonna get it. But I'll believe it when I see the download link posted on HTC's website.

Not like they haven't broken their promises before tongue.gif

Everyone but HTC says there's gonna be an update. The FAQ for Diamond 2 said that WM6.5 upgrade is not guaranteed. I'd link to it, but I can't find a FAQ page on the site anymore.

It was never mentioned by HTC, in fact like I mentioned, the only OFFICIAL mention was "We did not issue only official statement saying the D2 can be upgraded to 6.5"

My feeling towards using cooked firmware is that, if you have to ask people "Is this firmware good?" Then you shouldn't use it. Cause the firmware worked for other people doesn't means it worked for you. Since it's for all intents and purposes a hack.

You CAN get better performance from cooked firmware
You CAN get some interesting features from cooked firmware
You CAN get poorer performance from cooked firmware
You CAN kill your device using cooked firmware
You CAN end up having to hard reset and then reinstall older official firmware using cooked firmware

So if you do not understand how to install/uninstall the cooked firmware DON'T DO IT!

Saw Diamond 2s running WM6.5 in the Sunway Pyramid event. Looks spiffy, can't wait for it to be released for us to use.

How fast you get a GPS signal depends on a lot of factors. You should Google the net about GPS Warm Start, Cold Start and find out more.

As for other issues about the phone... well, some would consider that the battery has too little capacity for such a phone. But that's always a balancing act between how small you want your phone to be vs battery life.

Hi, does anyone experience unstable network signal? Mine one always swapping between HSPD, 3G and EDGE. Signal strength is also unstable, sometime no bar at all. I'm using Maxis but I dun have such signal problem with other phone, at same area.

Now hoping the ROM and Radio of Win 6.5 upgrade will help. Anyone care to share their experience? My radio version is 3.44.25.27, ROM is 1.40.707.1.

A bit regret to have bought this phone.....
*
I've been having problem with Maxis recently as well, after EXTREMELY HEAVY bouts of data usage, the reception just DIES. Or I loose data traffic. Since everything was working fine until recently I'd sooner blame Maxis than the phone, it's not like they haven't screwed up before tongue.gif

oh ya. talking bout disconnection.. i experienced that a few times.. it just lost contact wit maxis.. it wont reconnect even if off phone under settings and enable back.. need to off n on phone.. i dint happen often.. but well.. i do have the problem..
*
I off and on from settings after waiting a while it'll come back. Ask around your friends who use Maxis and see. I think you need to be a data user to experience it. Cause all those I talk to all use data a lot.

Farking hell! I just got an SMS from SiS saying I have to drop my phone off at their service center to get the upgrade to WM6.5. Why the fark can't I just download the update myself?

I'm trying to reach them right now but I guess they're all out for lunch.
