Granite is not anti stain and anti scratch, if you looking for some similar material i think you may be need to consider about Quartz Stone, which is more anti stain compare to granite, but of coz price will be higher compare to granite. Beside that, about long lasting, actually is just depent how is the user using it, some ppl even can long lasting by using posform top (malemine top) just simply because they do take care the top very well.

i have to agree on this too. it's our cabinets so does make sense to take care on it .....

General information: did u ever do a survey/statistics comparing which parts of house used most of ur resourcess/capital? yeah it was the kitchen cabinets..... don't believe it? just check back all of ur bill/receipt and compare it..... even 3 bedrooms wardrobe also cannot match a normal terrace house kitchen cabinets ....of course with the s/surface/granite/concrete top/marble/quartz stone/solid wood top..... additional u name it.... brows.gif

so the answer to the previous questions (by REEN YONG) is take care of it. whistling.gif

I have decided to use 2x2 polished tile which is anti stain. It means the coffee or tea or whatever stain overnight or few days it still can be easily removed. Hope i have made the right decision. icon_idea.gif

guys..

im planning to add some cabinets to my wet kitchen, im not sure its wet kitchen or not, since there's only a washing machine there :-)
the idea im having is :
- remove the installed clothes railing to add some cabinets..
- have some space to store some heavy stuff..

actually i've no idea on design, i just want to make use of the space on the 'wet kitchen' to make the 3rd room available..and if possible install a small wardrobe for the 3rd room as well

btw, im living in a condo, do you guys think RM10k enough ?

Hi,

I am not very sure about the material as I bought this house just recently and the cabinet looks fine but I just thought of changing the exterior layer only. If you want i can post the picture of the current one. Btw, are you dealing with kitchen cabinets?

Ya, that good ideal, if you can share some photo, but i guess the kitchen cabinet come with developer, should be Malemine, if so, then u may change the color with laminate and redo the end finishing with new ABS, if there is laminate, then just direct change the laminated will do, if the above 2 obtion are not work, then u have to change the door and remain the cabinet.

Wait for your photo. and by the way, we are interior designer company which doing all kind of carpentry work

ok i assume urs cabinet was used !! maybe second hand house, i guess hmm.gif so back to ur questions as long as the body/carcass of the cabinet was not termite infested or no warping, it still can be use...... and yes better just change the doors only just care to do some conservation on our forest use less wood then lessser trees trunk being felled.... icon_rolleyes.gif while save ur money on some others works.... one stone fell two birds whistling.gif

Added on April 26, 2010, 2:09 pmWhen you plan to buy a sink, go for the thickness at least 0.8mm and above. If you are using granite or solid surface, it is better to choose undermount sink. The phot below is topmount sink so the sink will put on the granite.

Seriously when you deal with contractor and IDs, you have to be extra exta careful. A lot of them can promise the sky and the moon but when they can't deliver, they will always find excuses.
