No need to argue or volley about Forte comparing to others car.

Let it launch and we can look at it in detail. Then come back and give a true opinion and comment.

I have read the Spore forum and seems to be alot of problem with this car but will take it as an item to look for when I see the car at its launch.

I agree the Forte will be able to sell if it is priced below RM70k. But I have noticed that the SA has changed from saying the price from below RM70k to RM75k. I suspect NAZA is monitoring and surveying the market and getting good respond when it was priced below RM70k. Now theey are testing the price of below RM75k. So we as a consumer, have to act smart, keep the good comment and the great interest for the Forte to ourself at the moment until it is launched. No need to say "very worth it" or "good looking" anymore.
Hope u guys agree with me.

Regards.

Lets not forget there are much more country in wait for delivery of this car, say KMC (KIA MOTOR CO.) is to have priority i dun think its going to be v.cheap... its no.1 korea export car now! IIRC
for most of the problems is minor little things here and there.. of course being windscreen crack being the most annoying!. other than that its really v.well built, heard its solved... now still looking / praying over mine.. hiaz...
and true enough it depends on the end specs that naza is willing to throw in...

QUOTE(titarium @ Oct 14 2009, 08:51 PM)
Well to be honest I am in between City vs Forte

Forte Pro:
Price Cheaper > but at the rumor 82k I don't think it is attractive
Higher Segment
better Spec

Naza Force/Forte Cons:
Customer sales satisfaction is below Industrial average for sales & after sales -

http://www.motortrader.com.my/NUS/articles...2043/page_m.asp
http://www.motortrader.com.my/NUS/articles...cle_1039/c1.JPG

Parts are uncommon
*Jimmy it is only 4 Star and it is tested on a 6 air-bag vehicle - Honda City have the G-Con technology going against it in the end both are only 2 air-bags
My personnel opinion to over come such a big CONS it must have a attractive price tag to attract buyer like me to go, going for a forte/naza force is like a gamble for me alot of doubts, if the risks (value) is too high there goes my risk assessment, If Naza doesn't place a good price tag on this alot of ppl will still go back to the common brand Toyota, Honda or Nissan - just for a piece of mind, even by paying 5-10k more.
*
For specification, i dun think City is that close, vios totally off (to me..), FYI, toyota in sg reacted to forte by throwing in more equipments now... with suzuki go all out! matching every bits but ESC! wink.gif but by industry standard forte is DEFINITELY there by the price... (but i not sure local naza assembly quality la..haaa), comparing honda (civic) for the price... do you want to compare?
So end of the day its really one of the best value car out there, if this car is launched under honda.. then i think it will certainly sells like hot cakes..

of for all kia has launch some nice b segment car too... (honda fit/jazz competitor!) call Venga..
Venga launch....

Good points!

I probably dun go in favor to re-badge, it certainly only to degrade it further, and having already such a good platform, why downgrade only to fight in another category.. haaa...

Naza.. really do wonders... tongue.gif

2.0 is mivec rite? Hope they gonna launch forte coupe after that, maybe cheaper with 2.0l engine, ..

but y 93k i think its expensive for a KIA brand, they need to get a lot of sales first so ppl perception change, i think that is a very bad move. once changed , they can sell it at higher price on par with honda/toyota coz the quality is the same.

maybe lose now but win later never cross their mind? If they deduct 10k from the prices i believe it gonna sells like pisang goreng. lol.
*
All forte Engine comes with CVVT IIRC, 1.6 for sure... 2.0 not that sure. that exactly happened here in SG, where SX started from 46k and its now 58K!! COE apart, those early starter actually could sell their car without loss (to body value) after 6 months. haaa.

QUOTE(denfire @ Oct 16 2009, 10:08 AM)
At price about 93k definitely is not very expensive as the size of the car is same as civic/altis.
With the engine is a GEMA engine. It is consider way better then the japanese, just the problem is that how would the spec and quality of finishing looks like. I'm always been waiting for the 2.0 kia forte, last time when I heard they will just intro 1.6, it really gives me a crash of hope as I'm eagerly looking forward for the 2.0 version. Don't know how true the news will be but this definitely a good rumours..  rclxms.gif

Top specs comes with cruiser, sunroof, 6 airbags.. and top power output for natural ins. engine? with good FC in its class.. laugh.gif

Well..the i30 priced here is ridiculous..at seeing at 93k for the most basic spec..it's definitely not worth it =/
*
but i guess many wont says that is crazy for Vios / City? haaaa.... that the funny part of branding image.. (i must say they are very successful)... just like ppl is willing to spend >100 for a branded designer t-shirt (where the designer self never design...) but says main stream t-shirt brands crazy at that price.. haaa...

think i30 is very intended for Conti market... so they never intend to price it lower.. here in sg to.. i30 is as ex as many jap brands...

Coming to that, think kimchi brands is doing the right thing to isolate certain model for Europe market to make its reputation and success...
and later Asia will sure follow (that the market trend).. by then.. we will sure... waaaa..... its i30 etc.. drool.gif

mindset... mindset... icon_rolleyes.gif

i don't mind the pay for 93k if they are bringing in the luxury forte~
check this out~! Luxury Forte!
the connection to that URL is damn slow...

RM100k for a 1.5 jazz/yaris sounds reasonable? mindset mindset~!
*
haaa.. yup.. know of this but really nothing much on the luxury then full specs car..

basically

1. GPS -> local ad offer this with item below at 1.5k (touch screen..) on the clock area.
2. Reverse Camera -> as above..
3. Flip key -> push button
4. Blue-Tooth control on steering-wheel -> that standard on eu/ us version...
5. The card slot for their HI-PASS (our ERP equivalent) is behind the Rear View mirror. -> Country specific..and that it comes with reverse monitor..??? i like this!
so... really.. i think that dun deserve the "luxury" dun even see.. exclusive trimming / woodgrains.. etc.. on it.. shakehead.gif

haaa.. but nice afterall...la...

that is why... ppl then to overpay and still think its well worth the $$$, as long as one is happy can oredi.. i think... icon_rolleyes.gif

Actually, after sales service is part and parcel of AD (auth distributor)? cos as far as we are concern that is by local AD (Naza) and that has nothing to do with Kimchi / sushi make / model.
having a good product only won half the battle.. (as we all understand) however given such a good foundation (chassis & platform) the ball is certainly with Naza now as to how to make it a success seller moreover to clinch the region assembler target.. (with this i do not think parts will be and issue)

But after sales service? we get what we pay for... but that does not mean it should come super cheap also.. and usually we pay for the service, for H&T (in SG) AD makes ~>20k(SGD!!) / car so service must be above avg... comparing to avg ~5k / forte.. hope this shade some lights.

and to share more of my usage... its getting better FC... starting to hit 7.6l/100km..(usual roads 80/20 H/C%) => 13km/l... (but i think this should prob about the best this car (100% stock) could do... already...

haaaa.... good one jimmy....

hAnn

joking la... icon_rolleyes.gif
That refers to heavy traffic condition, well.. Forte is a rather heavy cars at 1.26t.. 17" stock therefore comes with rather low gear ratio... for the 1st and 2nd gears. surprise me is that the car is capable of doing 3rd at 30km/h and at 50kmh it already shifts to 4th! haaa... (of course in normal eco cruising..)

hope this helps.

aiya bro.. u can read my mind...  blush.gif
especially "much better than cruze"
cruze is heavy car.. but i think the FC still can easily to beat my stupid gen2 la...
now running about 10.3l/100km (according to the meter)
*
Haaaa!

Not too surprise... cos cruze is a direct forte competitor... although both from kimchi team... (Deawoo team.. anyone?)
Cruze is a nice car. except that ill rec that you buy 1.8l at least (2.0 if avail) cos it comes with all ESC, ABS etc etc...
Good thing is that it comes with 6 speed auto!
but FC still nothing close to forte 4! rclxub.gif ???? think for city drive it will easily beat your not-so-stupid la... gen2... brows.gif
sound insulation is better but engine tone is gruff esp for 1.8.. but then 1.6 is like sub segment liao.. blink.gif
Price? avail already..? Here cruze is another ~12k more!

But cruze is already a super nice car! very poisonous! throwing in 20" instantly WOW! look at the WTCC ref...

Nice reviews here ..
Cruze Review...
Cruze direct compare to Forte

Personally i still lean towards Forte... for being more economical in every dept..

Sorry for the big OT haaa..

i went on  98% highway last week , 100km/h- 120km/h, full tank can go 600km ..good?
*
Think that is pretty decent...
for me standard full tank will travel that as well (but 80/20H/C)... dun forget forte should be about 10% better in FC than v5..
here some reference of 6.9l/100KM.. so that should makes about ~720km...
its really not that bad.. think all auto not good in City driving.. after all...

Oh bobby btw.. u drive until light come out.?

Yeah.. trip mileage dun tell lies... usu will reset upon pumping... then.. reset again... yes.. its close... so far.. but not pin point..
So, for us.. it varies by a few kms..

Hearing that.. think 700km for 100% highway is very efficient. i guess that the norm for auto la.. cannot match city driving.. which kills 20~30% of it..

Compare that to the Koup's shiny piano-black console surrounded by gunmetal parts, which is also likely to appear in the 2010 Forte SLi sedan if rumours are true.

Sg forte comes with this gun metal finish already... with red stitch on leather trimming as well... its really much better then the silver version...

now really missing is the push button and immo...
of course there are many more parts that is missing.. i.e safety power windows... etc..

so space man..

you now in aus? and you know what koup here comes with that silly (to me..) mood speaker...haaaa... and very.well priced just 4k+ above forte.. with push button etc... hiaz... tempting...

and for all info...
Kia and Hyundai sales up by 137 and 88%! and Toyot* down by 58% Hond* down by 23%~ in recent registration records...haaa... kimchi is getting more attention now... even media now reported kimchi standard and quality improved a lot....

OIC..
But please be aware Mz3 (last model) FC is avg at best... but riding comfort is good then cabin space is hmmm... only... it was on my list prior too cos.. before changing to new Mz3 2009 they kind of offer to clear.. at 55+k sgd..

Tot car advice review (long term) is kind of +ve...? for forte? no worry so far.. except the wind screen cracking issue..

cheers to you.. and happy buying...

I would not compare forte with city..(though magazine / reviews like to due the price range..) ill take forte anyday.. for the price with city.. haa...
Civic to me is overpriced too.. (to me at least) and you know. some forumers actually says forte cruising NVH is better then civic.. (not to sure personally..though..) but must say forte is really quiet in cruising.. even with our not soo good sound insulation... haa...

Wait, did i read correctly? It say 5 speed tip tronic gear box plus we can buy another 4 air bag? All for the 1.6l model? If this is true, in someway, our spec sound a lot better than what Singapore is getting drool.gif
*
IIRC the reason why we dun have 5 speed auto is due to RHD... Kia only have this GB available for RHD... so not too likely... but do hope it comes better with that.. 5 speed GB. otherwise.. i see no reason Koup dun use one..
Airbags is very likely.. cos 2.0l already comes with 6 AB..

erm.. i drove my friend's civic 1.8 for long journey (approximate 300km) and i felt quite OK with the NVH.. avg 140-150 km/h and my friend sleep like a dead man. LOL
if forte is slightly better than civic.. i would consider forte is very good already... maybe diff. batch civic have different quality.. (u nv know)
*
Yes.. i would totally agree that Civic is as good or better... after all selling like 1.5x more expensive then Forte..(or the commission damn good liao drool.gif ) and to be fair.. Forte > 140km/h noise is there... sweet spot being around 110km/h (v.quiet), but then NVH is a personal thing. but civic suspensions is definitely a tad better than forte... only not too sure if it comes with ESC etc.... (think so its there.. )
maybe must different civic comes with different sound insulation.? maybe we need a decibel meter to confirm this..heee... laugh.gif
