QUOTE(Crazyday723 @ Oct 15 2009, 09:43 AM) this is one and only one case I have heard of so far. And he already got a replacement unit. some people in PS forums even thought he is from Xbox camp, and say he purposely put the PS3 into an oven and then turn it on Added on October 15, 2009, 5:17 pmactually, my personal opinion is, for those 40GB holders which has been YLODed, just go out and buy the PS3 slim, never bother to repair anymore. After you paid RM300 to get a fix, but it still come back to you few months later, what gives? I feel relieved for post 2008 80GB batch where very very very rare YLOD has been detected thus far, guess Sony has improved the structure design, hopefully the Slim can further that improvement. QUOTE(SeanWong @ Oct 16 2009, 03:54 PM) hmmm interesting theory nyet. but still, PS3 hardware defect rate is not yet reaching Xbox 360 failure rate yet..Looks like nothing we can do now to prevent YLOD. Just praying you are not the "lucky" one instead Since when Sony product are going the same path like Microsoft product? Added on October 16, 2009, 6:15 pm QUOTE(monyetbesi @ Oct 16 2009, 02:58 PM) mlm nie aku pm ko kat PSN, malas nk post kat sini coz ianya just assumption...aku xnak org ckp aku nie retard laks hahaha...mlm krg aku pm... apart from chipset size, there's minor/major revision in motherboard layout Added on October 16, 2009, 3:03 pm malang nyer 40G set dia xpakai 65nm GPU chipset, GPU masih lg stick pada 90nm chipset, cuma derang amend CPU jaa kpd 65nm chipset.... QUOTE(Jimsee @ Oct 19 2009, 04:26 PM) a good consolation u can use back the old HDD, but the new PS3 will ask u to reformat it firstAdded on October 19, 2009, 4:32 pm can i use back the old hardrives into my new Slim version, so that i can retain back my save files? save files wise, i think u can take out the HDD, then connect it to ur PC via SATA or SATA->USB adapter, then retrieve the save files from your PC, but dunno whether those save files still can be tied to ur PSN account or not, need someone to clafify |

oh now I know that the content inside the HDD is encrypted and can only be decrypted using the same PS3 which was used to encrypt it
that means not even a PC can access the drive.. |
