I din read all the posts but if chemical engineering is what u want, come to UTP.
Forget about UM.

Study facilties, lab facilities, I dun think UM can compare to UTP. Perhaps some local private uni can?

You do get break once a while, mid-sem break, study week break, sem break.
You can go home by then.
Grow up, future is more important.

for u grownups of course u say future is more important
u already enjoyed yuors and u tell us not to

I'm in my final semester in UTP. I have friends in UM/UKM/USM/UTM etc.

Don't really care the courses but want a good job?

Don't you think a good degree, good university may give u a higher percentage of better job in the future?
Nothing is 100% but I'm talking about higher percentage, which may yield to higher chance?

Still again, as you are looking for pharmacist and UM gives you that, go there.

It seem what on your mind, is the allowance given by Petronas monthly....instead of your future?

and utp is a great university...

maybe you are not poor like me....

i just think for my future..not for enjoy or wasting time...

ipoh is only about 30-45minutes from utp n plus,if u got car or any other transport, sure u have the life lorh..

ex UTP here..

and yeah, living in tronoh might sound boring, but there'll always something you can do. If you're the type who would like to venture new places, Perak has it all. Rivers, air terjun, Pangkor, Lumut, Kuala Kangsar, Bukit Merah, Cameron Highland, I never knew this until I was there. Typical activity during weekend = midnight movies. But it was fun, it wasnt solely on watching the movies, it's the time that you spent with your friends after, in Oldtwon White Coffee (hey it originates from Ipoh y'all), or in Tronoh mamak (or mapley as we call it), the best maggi goreng in the world (I can't find the same one in KL). Also the students and management held many events, and I love the International Cultural Night (in UTP we have many international students, more than 20 countries and it was fun learning other cultures). Pretty hard to sum it all in words, but it's not that bad. I survived UTP (and miss it badly right now).

hehe... outside utp, the taman maju already 'maju' la...

got tesco builing up like next 2-3 month ... trip to lumut or teluk batik or ipoh only take 30-40 minutes drive...

me currently study in utp... during final exam still go out for champions league finals.. go mamak like on 2-3 am in the morning... utp u can go in and out anytime..(student la)

got some my friends even go clubbing... that 1 not a study type la...(waste of taxpayer money.. damn!)...

no life in utp? wrong i guess... study is study... but still nid life ma... even those dota players reaalyy happy here... got our own battlenet server.. can dota like 24 hours... (utp got intranet lan connections).. even lots of lan game like cs and l4d also can play lan... (for gamers freak la)..
for sportsman? futsal can till 12 midnight only la... after that go to sport planet. 30 minutes drive.... dont have car? got service for car renting... bring a bike also enough... even last year got lots of bike convoy organize by the students, go cameron highland.... mostly friend and friend and then open la....

what entertainment actually u want? on student basis i guess, gaming, lepak place, shopping... else?

Many of my frens grad from UTP currently... still finding job(jobless)
No worries, cz for me study anywhere oso same. When u come to work, need to re - learn oso.
For me, I from UM. Of cz at UM, u can enjoy alot of Campus life + meet alot of friends from different state.
If you can meet alot ppl from different state, this ppl will help you in the future.

if you got the skillz.,... doesnt matter where you go.. lol
coz comparing these 2 unis is not like comparing oxbridge vs some backwater uni

if ur not interested in chemical eng.. at all.. u better dont go to UTP..

ur jus wasting ur life.. know what u really like.. u like pharmacy.. and u got UM.. UM is reputable..

now its jus the matter of the course u want.. tats it..

uhhh... srsly if you afraid jobless juz go the pharmacist pathway..
even in times of economic downturn like now, govt and private sectors alike will be in need of pharmacists...

life sure get one la..ive been there..who say no life.far from town doesnt mean no life..
