That is what is confusing me.... some say OK some say NOT ok.

My questions is if DVD not good then problem will be cannot read only. Some say play "local" DVD can destroy lens - that is what I don't understand.
Maybe PS3 got special software to detect "local" DVD and destroy Lens ???? shocking.gif

it'll wear out your lens,not destroy it.

but that'll happen eventually.

i figured,if it'll cost me 300 bucks to repair the ps3's lens in the event of a lens failure,then so be it.

a new HDMI based dvd player isnt that much cheaper,and it'll take more space.

last thing i need is to have another damn player on my already cluttered table doh.gif
