actually to reveal the bearing, just open the CM sticker, the one which is not hologram one
if u peel it off a little, u can see the bearing already
opening the fan is not really recommended unless u know what you're doing
*
Ya, I did open up the sticker( the hologram sticker), but the center part which is normally rubber or silicon is completed seal. You cannot force it open using a razor.

Koki, did you manage to open it n remove the blades from the housing?

Normally new fan is "self-lubrication", end-user shouldn't do anything to it.

Fan that need lubrication is when it is in the dying age (when it start making noise).

If you in doubts, try to ask your question in "Case Fan" thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/387771

p/s my 2 cents.

V8 has to be better lah since the price is much expensive than Hyper 212.
but there are several heatsinks, which is cheap, but powerful. drool.gif

agreed!
CCF for example on the top 5 HSF list from FrostyTech
there's also V8 at the list, but CCF win V8 by performance
looks on the other hand, CCF lose la sweat.gif

BTW, koki what GC are you using?

And regarding the fan, different fan will have different design. Some will directly expose the bearing after peeling off the sticker, but some will not.

hmmm?
i'm using the Sapphire Ultimate HD 3870
http://www1.sapphiretech.com/us/products/p...?gpid=217&grp=3

about the fan, u sure it is not exposed?
because if it is not, how are u gonna oil it?
removing the fins and from the fan itself will void the warranty

it depends on the fan.
for ball and sleeve bearing, pnce you peel off the sticker, you can see the bearing and lubricate it with oil.
some coolermaster fans use rifle bearing. until today, i still have no idea where to lubricate it. hmm.gif
