well, what i really meant was put the fan thru running water, then leave it to dry totally for a day or 2 maybe..then only put it back to work again.
of course i wouldn't be washing it and putting it back inside my case immediately laugh.gif
*
You can't do that for any electronic stuffs ... (even you have keep them dry for 2 days).

Can you wash your pc or notebook and keep it dry for 2 days, and expecting them still operating?

Yup, those are "silent" fans but they are doing great job in bigger case such as HAF 932 (230mm version fans)

The front cover: I can pop the lower part but becomes difficult to remove the entire thing. I am afraid of breaking it. However, I have got to remove the front cover slowly.

The top cover: I can see the hooks, do push it in or pull it out or push it up? Am I supposed to feel any movement as I release them? tongue.gif

*
I use both hands - ten fingers (at the same time) to pull the hooks in and up, the top cover will pop up.

Do the hooks facing (or near) the motherboard , pop up that section of top cover first before move to the back (motherboard back).

I can't say it is easy, but once you found "the way", you can open it easily (so as the front cover).

@sib, so basically, V8 much more better than H212?
*

Ya, I did open up the sticker( the hologram sticker), but the center part which is normally rubber or silicon is completed seal. You cannot force it open using a razor.

Koki, did you manage to open it n remove the blades from the housing?
*
Normally new fan is "self-lubrication", end-user shouldn't do anything to it.

Fan that need lubrication is when it is in the dying age (when it start making noise).

If you in doubts, try to ask your question in "Case Fan" thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/387771

p/s my 2 cents.

@Koki,

You can use Vizo Propeller, which I am using in my rig 1 to cool down my passive GC heatsink (drop from 60C to 52C) :-

p/s the Propeller blue LED is quite bright too.

iinm, the heatsink is facing upwards, if put vizo propeller, the gc will block the airflow.
*
I think his heatsink can change upward or downward.

OR maybe just install fans on the heatsink will do the job ...

A lot tall cooler can't go into Cosmos, other than V8, CM Hyper 212 also can't go in.

@mengsuan

If you want "kick-ass" fan, you can go for industrial fan such as Delta, San Ace (Sanyo) and etc ...

Those fan has higher CFM but with noise ...

p/s my 2 cents.

No, even the asus rampage 2 extreme (e-atx mobo) can fit in to cm690...
*
Mid-tower casing such CM690 can only fit ATX and M-ATX motherboard.

For E-ATX motherboard, usually is server motherboard, can only fit into a full-tower casing such as HAF 932

user posted image

The blue colour screw hole is standard ATX motherboard hole, where else red colour screw hole is E-ATX motherboard hole.
In another word, E-ATX motherboard tend to be "wider"

No offense, I feel this thread become too much spam ... and unreadable.

Maybe you guys want to form a internal circle group forum, and have you own discussion there ...

IHMO - anything not related to CM casing/products should consider as spam.
If you love this thread, don't kill it. Just my 2 cents.

xD
*
CM690 has two edition - Nvidia edition and normal type.

Nvidia edition is RM300 and above.

Normal edition is below RM300

@XiuKeong

Cleaning my previous CM690 one month once, which IHMO is acceptable.
I need to remove the front and top panel to reach the fan filter and other stuffs ... I think okay lah, not so "susah" - one month once only lah, LOL (now, doing the same thing to my HAF932 and Lian Li A10B)
