seriously he got apply grease or not? coz fans tend to lose its efficiency or performance when there's more friction on the bearing

btw, here's a repost of the red LED + blue LED

look at the rear 90CFM fan, u can see the red LED lights getting dragged into the 90CFM

apply grease or oil will somehow reduce the friction and noise, also improving the performance
improvement in performance is because less friction to the bearing, so RPM also higher

But for the CM 90CFM fan (with LED), you cannot open the cover to expose the bearings as it is seal tight. I tried it cause wanna see the internal PCB connection, but cannot open it, anyone had any luck?

Added on May 13, 2009, 12:59 amI added some of my UV ccfl that was lying around Long time no use liao, wanna test it only. You can really see the mess inside my casing, lucky the interior is very spacious. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

actually to reveal the bearing, just open the CM sticker, the one which is not hologram one
if u peel it off a little, u can see the bearing already
opening the fan is not really recommended unless u know what you're doing
