well, what i really meant was put the fan thru running water, then leave it to dry totally for a day or 2 maybe..then only put it back to work again.
of course i wouldn't be washing it and putting it back inside my case immediately |

You can't do that for any electronic stuffs ... (even you have keep them dry for 2 days).of course i wouldn't be washing it and putting it back inside my case immediately Can you wash your pc or notebook and keep it dry for 2 days, and expecting them still operating? QUOTE(WebWalker @ May 8 2009, 01:14 PM) You can't do that for any electronic stuffs ... (even you have keep them dry for 2 days). 2 days....maybe...maybe not....depending on how dry it gets in those 2 days...Can you wash your pc or notebook and keep it dry for 2 days, and expecting them still operating? BUT... my old PC was once caught in a flood and it was totally submerged in water...it was off at the time of flood.... i put out to dry with a table fan blowing right at it for 2 weeks straight....turned it on and worked perfectly...just needed to replace the CMOS battery. as long as theres no current going though them at the time....u can actually wash electrical items with water...no worries....just as long as u make sure its COMPLETELY dry before turning it on...how long it takes to get completely dry differs depending on ur ambient and airflow etc etc etc etc etc....also depends on how long ur willing to wait..if u turn it on too soon and theres still some water sure la kaput. but in terms of washing fans with water....also can...once completely dry...just remember to add a small drop of oil to lubricate the bearings..coz the washing might have washed out the original lubricant... |

For fans, I suggest remove the back sticker, then pull out the pin..Then can separate the impeller from the frame. Then use wet cloth to wipe off the dust and whatnot..
BTW, my name is not in the CM690 list..♥♥♥ |

QUOTE(yshiuan @ May 8 2009, 03:25 PM) ish.but better not put behold the power of HAF la,mcm like other casing bo value or useless le QUOTE(dlwl @ May 8 2009, 04:33 PM) definately wont turn on right after i wash it. but still not so recommended to do so la,unless ur fan is rly tht dirty till the stains are unremovable by wiping.sometimes even after u wait for 2 days or weeks, there MIGHT be some water droplets which are trapped inside the bearing motor if its not sealed tight enough and once u turn it on,heaven gate is rdy for ur fan dun wanna risk kaput-ing my whole pc also. well i've got no issues with waiting, 2 days or 2 weeks is fine with me. btw a bit of not so related pic but still gt some CM element in it This post has been edited by ZeneticX: May 8 2009, 05:21 PM |
