@dlwl, so tempting?Haha,720p sure have no problem. 1080p i guess P4 2.0GHz can't run smoothly.

@Jcsy, can play 1080p making you happy right? Means in the future you are going to support on 1080p already. tongue.gif

Found a source to share on how to set GPU render than CPU load during HD playback.

http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/DXVASupport.html

QUOTE
DXVA is quite picky, so if you want to use it you have to respect those rules :

•Windows XP users, select Overlay Mixer, VMR7, VMR9 or VMR9 renderless
•Vista users, select EVR or EVR custom renderer

@dlwl,Fifa2009 requires better GC to support. Currently my 5900 also can't play it well due to only Direct-X 9.0 supported. Geforce 6 and above will be doing great job for it.

@Jcsy,if use 3.2GB RAM to make RAM disk then will have lesser RAM on system. Not recommended.

@edmin,you didn't try on RAM disk since you have 8GB?

Added you in the list.Very nice proc over there.3.4C man.Currently pairing with your mobo and GC do you feel satisfy while gaming?

QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Jul 8 2009, 08:59 AM)
wao... 3.4C, very rare. one of the top northwood cpu. I wonder there is any P4EE with 512kb L2. hmm.gif
*
Yes,there is P4EE with 512kb L2.This proc is rare and top among S478 procs.

Sad news for all.. Guys, I had just sold my P4.. tongue.gif In my hand less then 2 weeks and i sold it again. Main reason is i cant stand by placing a heater beside my leg. Anyways, I'm moving into ATOM.
*
shakehead.gif You can always hunt for a Northwood proc to solve the heat issue. doh.gif doh.gif

Haha.. Ray, dont nervous.. I might come back again one day.. brows.gif Who knows right? Anyways, my previous Prescott hit 60-65'c on idle. Run for like 24hrs can feel my computer table is warm. sweat.gif Ray, is not easy to hunt for good and cool P4 proc nowadays. Mostly on sales are Prescott.

Currently using D945GCLF.. 6W processor. Super power saver!
*
Your Prescott is hotter than mine last time. sweat.gif sweat.gif Mine idle 10 degree C lower than yours. Luckily last time i didn't picked Prescott while buying my 3.2C,else i will be regretting. 6W Atom processor? You buy whole set for how much?

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Jul 8 2009, 09:44 AM)
my good old rig, still good until today alive and kicking

Pentium IV 2.8Ghz Northwood HT, OC to about 10% now at 3.08 Ghz, mobo Jetway PM9MSR2-VC 1gb + 512mb of ram and GeCube ATI Radeon X1300 256mb agp card... now looking forward to upgrade into Asus Radeon HD3650 512mb card if there is stock now.
*
2.8C can always clock to run higher than 3.08GHz. I bet your mobo is limiting you to o/c higher. Someone is garage sales is selling HD3650 there.

@Jcsy,i think your MSI mobo can o/c one jsut that the options there are limited. Your Prescott is really hot too, loading is 70 degree C.Scary.

@fylon,my idle temp was 20 degree C lower than yours. Loading time is about 60 degree C.Hot hot....

@powerwoot,i guess your mobo is limiting you.Another thing might be your RAM,but possiblity is low since is Geil brand.
