it's definitely better than the pentium 4, coz it's dual core. the athlon x2 3800+ is meant to compete with the pentium D. so probably the performance is almost similar.

remember that you'll need cat6 cables too instead of the normal cat5 ones

Maybe can try resitting the hardware, and check the rams too. sometimes might be due to faulty rams.

better expandability options too, just in case you need to use pci cards, since it's a full-fledged atx mobo

QUOTE(raymond5105 @ Dec 17 2009, 10:36 PM) Plugged in 800GB system becomes slow? Sounds like no logic behind..... it happened to my friend's p4 pc before too..previously just running 80gb, booting into windows was really fast. when added a new 160gb hdd, it sort of like slowed down for 5-10 seconds..weird

maybe it's just that pc hardware outside KL area is expensive, i notice that too in my hometown. some items are more expensive compared to the prices here and LYP.

agree with edmin. normally when i face this kind of problem i would check the psu first. if the problem still persists, i'll strip everything out, and test with just the bare hardware. then can slowly diagnose what's teh problem

why don't you use the acbel instead of the icute? then leave the icute as backup psu
