Looking at the blackstone design, i still prefer HD.

yes Kay, HD is my first PPC phone
*
hope you enjoy using HD, i know i'm enjoying it although it's not perfect but then no phone is...since you got it recently, how much you got it for (if you dont mind me asking)?

OT: yet another rumor of HD replacement: HTC Leo
nice specs as rumored, now this looks much better, design worthy of succeeding HD, but i'm still not satisfied with the battery...i hope it wont be another case of TG01 with 1000mAh...

wow cool effects...cant wait for the stable version for manila 2.5/2.6...The hotfix for touch pro2 doesnt fix the sms problem?

currently using kwbr 2.8.1...ROM fast and stable for my daily usage..not much tweaking need to be done, only change the tab icons and background tabs... thumbup.gif

edit:
i noticed something, from the screen shot i posted, you guys can see that the E, which is for Edge connection, seem to be grayed out...so i would like to know is it because connection is bad in my area or the radio is off or something? when i reboot HD it seems to be back to the normal E icon...using radio 1.13 btw...

@ xield: IMO, i would not opt for AP set, you may experience problem when claiming warranty...

@evilpuppy,
i tried radio 1.14, the "E" icon will still turn to gray after around 6 hours of inactivity, no sms / calls...maybe due to that it turned gray? i still think it's because of the reception @ my house area, in office although the icon is gray, i can still receive sms / calls without a problem...changing back to radio 1.13 though, seem like the antenna area of HD is bit warmer when using 1.14...once 6.5 ROM is out, i'll flash and see if the problem persisted...

i know the price will drop but i dont expect to drop around RM1K...other than oversea sets, look at all the new Windows Mobile devices...new devices is cheaper than Touch HD, for example Omnia II...I guess HTC just have to lower the price to stay competitive...well hope they sell more so they can finally use another processor ...

most probably will still be using this device until Windows Mobile 7 available or when tegra-powered smartphone start to show up...

loving the flexibility of Windows mobile on HD...it may have lots of flaws but i can customized the home screen with many third party application, one day can use SPB Mobile shell, another day can use inesoft, then weekends can use my own customized TouchFlo3D...

Miri is also one of the reputable cook but I have never tried it before though.. Always been a fan of Dutty.
Lots of comments from other users that Topix is a fast ROM.. so I thought I'll give it a try.. loving it for the moment and yes it's a very speedy ROM.
Latest version is Topix ROM 2.9.3
*
agreed that topix is one of the most speedy ROM out there...i'm still (back) using 2.8.1 and find no reason to flash to another ROM (though i flashed to a 6.5 ROM for one day to test if the bad reception has something to do with 6.1 ROM)...not to mention this ROM is stable...i flash it and just use without much tweaking, except some manila customization...i will wait kwbr's 6.5 ROM before fully using windows mobile 6.5...

looking towards next month as i believe more 6.5 ROMs will be coming out once xda chef get their hands on the official Windows Mobile 6.5....

Ohhh....if Microsoft releases WM6.5...would we able to get our HTC to service centre to ask for upgrade? hmm.gif
*
nope...i'm 99% sure that Windows Mobile 6.5 wont be available for Touch HD...dont have the windows "hardware" key (but then i dont think snap have that key either, that's why the 1% tongue.gif )...

but then if you have use cooked ROM before, are you sure that you will want to go back to stock ROM? whistling.gif

Which is a better ROM? Topix or Dutty? I heard dutty currently got lags and bugs but topix is very smooth and stable. The question is, is topix running on WM6.5? Cause the current release version is Dutty's Leo R1 Test and Topix 2.9.3 So i duno whether is Topix runing on 6.5
*
topix is using Windows Mobile 6.1...this was stated on the 1st post on the topix ROM thread, in XDA and HTCpedia...
and Dutty's Leo is R2, while dutty's another Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM is R12 and his final Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM is 4.3

but if you are familiar with flashing, would you pay when you can get it for free...of course there will be some bugs in all custom ROMs, but overall i felt it much better than stock ROMs...

HTC is kinda disappointing, even omnia (1st generation) is getting the windows mobile 6.5 upgrade, X1 also rumored to have the upgrade...seriously if it wasnt for xda-developers, i wouldn't have gotten HD in the first place...

not planning to change until i can find a device with tegra + windows mobile 7 (if it retains the customization / flexibility of windows mobile, but zune HD UI seem impressive + responsive) / android (from the android 1.6 video, it sure seem to maturing into a good OS) + good resolution and screen size...

Any idea when will WM6.5 will be official release?
*
Oct 6th...but dont expect the latest version to be used for ROM updates...read some posts in XDA stating that some 6.5 ROM updates are using build 23016...

latest build is 23060/23420 IIRC, but this build still have some bugs to be ironed out...

For those looking for a suitable belt bag that will fit the Touch HD which is not thick, might want to look at the Hama Nav Bag. Tried a few others like Golla and Capdase, just wasnt satisfied. Even though its not meant specifically for the Touch HD but it fits.

Been using this for awhile now and I can say that its just nice for Touch HD, plus the belt clip is such that the phone is sideways so wont really block the jeans pocket. The pix are not the clearest i know, using the Touch HD

how's the ringing sound / vibration when it's zipped? scared might miss a call...also where did you get it? order online?

4.3" to me is a bit big as well...well i'm not switching just yet, wait for Windows mobile 7 phones, hopefully with tegra chipset...

or maybe waiting for the official announcement for the rumored HTC Dragon, 1GHz with android OS and 480x800 resolution...this looks like a winner...

seems like those new ROM with Windows Mobile 6.5.x is a bit buggy...i wanted to try those ROM with the start button on the bottom but it seem very very buggy...guess have to wait bit longer...

= (

confirmed that W6.5 not coming to HD...well, this doesnt come as a surprise...i just hate IT when HTC doesnt seem to appreciate their customer as much as other manufacturers...HTC does make good stuff + interface like HTC Sense UI but they really need improve their after sales support (firmware upgrades, bug fixes)...in a way i felt like XDA seems to be HTC "unofficial" support...

Well, on the bright side, at least there's "unofficial" support for the Touch HD, as compared to Omnia II which is not in that site's list of phones.  blink.gif
*
for omina ROMs, you can try MoDaCo website, but i believe you should know bout that site by now...xda focus mainly on HTC devices...

besides, I think samsung is updating their ROMs more frequent than HTC...

@dericsck, sure that you dont want wait bit longer for the new HTC Touch HD2?

well, its time to try out Android OS and see how's its work. and its alot complicated then i thought (its Linux) i've spend almost 5hour to get it run on custom ROM, Official ROM does not allow you to download paid nor free application from Android Market. although its 3.2" but with HVGA still satisfied me over my earlier HD. ( i miss my HD  cry.gif ) Who know i might Jump back to WM ? Next is HD 2.

yeah... jump jump jump~! i could at least reducing my phone weight carrying this Hero for now. its alot smoother, like to HTC widget and Hero Widgets.
must resist the temptation from evilpuppy, i just got HD bout six months ago, cant change again...

how's the browsing? since the resolution is lower, will it be a problem?

how come it doesnt? is it because the android market doesnt support our location?

it would seem customisation on the android wont be easy either...

i really like HTC's Android home screen, i felt it's much more useful (not to mention better looking) than TouchFLO (i felt that the new TouchFLO 2.5, seems to be a bit packed, especially with the programs row)...
