I believe the mp21 will have more clarity once you've burned them in. Maybe you can compare them again after about 100 hours of playback.

MP21 simple review:

First impression after unpack : sux..the sound really flat and cant hear any bass

After burned in: WOW.....the sound is so good..can feel the bass and hear those song detail that cant been heard using my ex in-ear headphones

Having hard time in finding suitable eartips that suit me ><...final decision: large size foam

Burning in the headphones now XD

received my PL30 today,two days after making the payment.thanks for the fast delivery. First impression of the SQ, the base is totally not there. But after burning in for about 6 hours, there is a dramatic change. now i m enjoying the base. The high is sparkling and the mid is a bit forward. hopefully the SQ will improve further with further burn in.
