mufasa, honestly, the Nikon accessories and lenses will cost you the same with the exception of the SB-900 which is RM15xx (while the Sony F58AM is RM10xx.)

Also, you have all the lenses most people need already. You're just missing an ultra-wide angle lens.

Finally, borrowing lenses is a hassle to both the owner and the borrower. Most people need their lens back on a certain day. If your friend has a cheap Nikkor AF-D 75-300mm F4.5-5.6G and a Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm F2.8G VR SWM, he can lend you the 75-300mm... but this is something you could already buy on your own. (Not to be confused with the premium Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm F4.5-5.6G VR SWM.)

But would he lend you a lens that goes for over RM5K?

Would you lend your lens that costs over RM5K to a friend?

If your friend has a RM5K lens, either:
- he needs it to shoot photography jobs
- he is a rich collector

If I had both a 75-300mm and 70-200mm F2.8, and you wanted to borrow either, and I needed to shoot the same day, I'd certainly lend the 75-300mm but not the 70-200mm.

I would very highly recommend you get your own lenses and flashes. If you needed to borrow a flash for a job tomorrow and you arranged to meet a friend, then the friend couldn't make it, what are you going to tell your client? "Eh sorry boss I couldn't borrow a flash."

first impt thing..very very impt...its Alpha =p *just incase next time users from other brands make fun of u tongue.gif *

i think at least 80% of the bros here would recommend u a300 as a start...don think the extra 4MP would giv u any significant difference...infact u'll probably end up with noisier picture...just my 2cents worth...

btw guys...i think sony heard my nonstop whining over here...hehe..they jsut called me...even if i failed to show them my 'valid' warranty...it'd only cost me 60bucks for cleaning + calibration...phew...now i can finally go slp =)

mcline_007, get the A300. I think it has the best features for a beginner in dslr, unless you are on a tight budget (which you said you are not) then get the A200. A350 is really for guys who needs more resolution for big enlargements (which most probably you wno't do for now).

achew, nice! see! who said sony cuts throat?!?! I serviced my old flash (HVL-F56AM) twice, and i only paid a total of RM20 bucks nia! laugh.gif

Sony Alpha 300 still under warranty for the live view sensor cleaning will be rm60 also?

Because i try blowing the dust away but it still stays, now i suspect it wasn't even dust at the live view sensor. Mid valley got sony service centre?

perhaps shd let the entry guy like me try out the entry lvl first....so when we upgrade...we would feel the impact..and appreciate more on the technology..

of coz anyone with a deep pocket can buy a900 and all the zeisses as their entry...but they wouldnt really know how to appreciate it...

alpha_company: I saw a Tamron SP AF 90mm f2.8 Macro with built in motor for Nikon mount over at PhotoMalaysia. So looks like there are indeed 2 versions of this lens for Nikon mount. Confusing...... rclxub.gif
