actually guys, should i go for ddr3? im thinking getting asus m4a78t-e and x3 710 and not sure what ram yet

or

get myself a ddr2 board and x3 710 still use back my 4GB ballistix tracer, this save more cause no need spend more on ddr3

my budget quite tight TBH..but i dont mind spend abit more for ddr3 option

what u guys think? hand and body itchy wana do some upgrade  tongue.gif my current board and proc already 2 years old
*
I would wait till the technology regarding AMD and DDR3 is abit mature...no point being a guinea pig for just a couple hundreds of megahertz (ram speeds)....

argh...
having dilemma....
Should i sell my unopened 9150e to get
AMD X2 DualCore 7750+ BE RM225
AMD X2 DualCore 7850+ BE RM260

n also wil TA790GX 128M wil be a good enuf to OC my 9150e if i didn't sell it...
Help me out taikos...

More onto gaming but also dun want to lose too muc multi core utilities power...

and a bit OT:
choose SAPPHIRE HD4670 512DDR4 GRAPHIC CARD (BIG FAN ) RM280
                                          or
HIS HD4670 ICEQ 512MB GDDR3 HDCP SUPPORT RM270??

EDITED: saw Ecs A790GXM-A @ RM395...
get Ecs A790GXM-A or 128M leh?? hmm.gif
*
You should sell if;

You do intensive gaming....if not

You can just keep it as it is already good enough for daily and multiple task...

My vote would be;

Save your money, go for the 7750, and you can fund your GC for a better 256bit one....

Regarding the mobo, I got Biobintang TA790GX 128M I think I want to sell and upgrade to 790FX either Giga/DFI/MSI, which is cheaper than the boards you mentioned from ECS....interested???

No lar...just side-step marketing...hihihihihi...

QUOTE(byfc2010 @ May 21 2009, 01:12 AM)
oh interested...
pm me the price, shop bought, and also ur location... thankx...

256bit GC a nono for me... i dun wanna get too addicted to games... lol...

for heavy multiple task, i won't do it everyday,
but like when i need it, i don't want to sacrifice too muc lor...
but i think it's ok to switch from 9150e to 7850BE...
*
No need PM lor...

I let it go around RM320, complete with everything inside the box...The shop bought was Cycom and the warranty is around 2 Years, 11 months and 1 week left...

Location Klang Lama, Subang, Sunway....

256 bit is kinda future proof....I think u can get around sub RM400 for a decent one....

Since you said so, why not 7750 and push it to 3.0Ghz at around 1.4v...more than enough grunt to handle stuff IMHO....

The 7850 is just 100mhz higher and does not justify its RM60 more IMHO.... smile.gif

So far there's no one can unlock 7850. But it's just a 0.1mhz differential...
Don't have to spend extra Rm40-Rm50 on it.
*
Someone agrees with me brows.gif

Yap...save the cash to top up with better rams or GC....no point spending RM50 more on 100mhz.... doh.gif If cache size different than thats a different story... icon_idea.gif

Hah hah...tak tahu....most cases when sent to Taiwan is due to confirmation of non-replacement technical fault mainly because of overclocking....

But like I said, most, not all... sweat.gif

790gx 128m has no problem handlin agena/deneb, problems come when one prime their chips @ rather high volt on long hours which leads to burn of mosfets. i'm not so sure that's due to insuffient power phase (4 phase only on 790gx series) or not-so-good quality of components used.  sad.gif
either m2rsh for ddr2 or gd70/giga's 790fx/dfi's M3H5 for ddr3... have a peep in xs regardin M3H5's review by bro essau, i dun see any not impressive comments there...  tongue.gif

QUOTE(verdict @ May 23 2009, 11:09 PM)
Before i get sleepy, here some poison and marketing strategy from "MAD" AMD !!!

Price of two, get one free and unlock to four

AMD's three core strategy is taking an interesting turn. AMD currently positions its three core CPUs against Intel's duals, and if the applications you're running are properly multi threaded, there is a chance that AMD's three core will end up faster than Intel's Core 2 Duo or Pentium dual-core.
Intel was successful to sell the message that K10 based Phenom X3 are broken and it served Intel well last year, but after being able to unlock Phenom II X3 and get a quad-core for the price of Intel’s dual-core, the table has turned in AMD's favour. All off a sudden Phenom II X3 720 got a really hot seller.

We’ve also heard that there will be more motherboard manufactures who will accidentally find a way to unlock the fourth core, and users will get a free core. The same strategy might be used for dual-cores, as there should be boards that should be able to unlock Phenom II X2 to a Phenom II X4 quad core. AMD will kind of look in the other direction as officially it won’t like or allow it, but since this strategy has a huge chance to increase sales, it will let it happen. wub.gif  wub.gif
*
Hehehhe....

Would be one of their 'secret-marketing strategy', who knows??? whistling.gif

Nowadays information travels nearly the speed of light and when someone manage to post his achievement of unlocking another core from an X2/X3 (two cores for the X2 case) in a reputable forum (might be the guy from AMD, who knows also whistling.gif but states in the forum that he is from Korea), it would be a shopping mayhem for the Procs to be displayed on the shelves of any IT or Computer store... thumbup.gif

For stability purpose I guess when OC'ing...after you have managed to find the highest sweet spot, try and enable back the UMA+Sideport option rclxm9.gif

i start v sideport enabled only...
means onboard wil be using the sideport only right?
and whn running on UMA+sideport means the ram wil run @ ram speed n Sideport @ sideport speed or how?
*
Nope...its just the option to enable or not the sideport only...on or off....like CnQ on or off....off will push stability and higher overclocking I guess... hmm.gif

Still can get a winner between them...

If looking at Xtremesystems list, sure the Giga comes 1st and the Asus second while the DFI is no where in the top 5... sad.gif

I got mine for like Rm380 smile.gif So, it's good deal for me already. No need upgrade anymore.
