Show us the powah of CCF tongue.gif
*
XiuKeong
Yup i received the CCF already, haven't tested much yet but what i can say is that to me:

Pro:
1. Nice temp, tried prime95 at 3.4ghz so far it did not even reach 50c when at full load.. thumbup.gif
2. The stock fan is quite to me, not as loud as my old 90mm fans, very peaceful at last, even my gpu fan is louder.. laugh.gif

Con:
1. The 1st time ever i bought a 3rd party HSF which kinda look cheap to me, even the top most fin is kinda wobbly.. With easily bent fin here n there.. sweat.gif
2. The fan retention mechanism is kinda loose to me, its workin but kinda loose..

During installation i thought i have to take out my mobo to mount it but apparently i don't have to, it was quite easy smile.gif

I touched the fin...It was quite sharp and fragile to me. Push abit the fin is bent sweat.gif But I adjust it back before putting it back to the box.

I think the retention is not the correct length. I tested it by fixing the fan onto the HS.

But it's good to know you satisfy with the temp.

Yup the temp is just great, i just love it, but those little nickpicks i mention just make it less satisfying ah... sweat.gif

I think the retention is not the correct length too but still it's a boon coz atleast i can adjust the fan slightly so i can use the ram slot below it, too lazy to change my rams to the next slots laugh.gif

Yup it is quite a good performer though u do have to live with it's kinda cheap looking manufacturing/assembly/packing (to me ah tongue.gif)
This is the feeling that u get when u spend too much time with other brand of coolers like CM n Xigmatek laugh.gif

ok..this is what ive been told...if my memory serves me well,
u oc htt, means oc mobo also right? nb is part of mobo...so, to increase the tolerance of mobo to higher htt, need to increase the volt..
if use multi, mobo is not involve in the oc.. so no need to increase nbvolt... <---------------correct me if im wrong.but this is what i learned here

kuntawakaw u did this test using ur TA790GX mobo ker?? hmm.gif

about ventrilocks link

its hard to understand this...what is this?
like 8tvt said... if oc proc only, nb cant adept the fast data from proc.. so nb btlenecking cpu
and vise versa (is that so 8tvt?)

so how come in ts case, he oc nb up to 6ghz..but able to feel the difference.
as exmple 9150 stuck at 2.4ghz. so the nb freq that suitable for it is 2ghz (as example only)
but he oc the nb and still feel the difrence..... er.. noob what to learn.and corrct me if im wrong
*
This thing also pening coz when mentioning o/c'ing the NB like for my mobo there is option to set the volt for NB or CPU-NB, which one do we have to raise the volt when tinkering with the NB speed?? rclxub.gif

NB=CPU-NB??
or they are different thing?

Added on June 5, 2009, 12:45 pm

I believe for AMD there would be 2 NB's..

CPU-NB => it's where the integrated mem controller and HTT preside in the CPU i think..
NB => This is on the mobo where the GPU/PCIE controller is located..

now nvidia chipset latest is what a?
*
I don't think it's just for the L3 cache control, it also includes IMC control n HT communications control between the cpu and the mobo chipset for instance..
That's why some theories like 8tvt n ventrilocks quote mention that when u oc ur cpu u need to oc ur NB so that it can keep up with the cpu speed.. Just my 2 cents ah..
