Chawanmushi?
You can have it at Yoshinoya, Midvalley or Sunway Pyramid. Nasi daging Yoshinoya is the best!!!!!! |

Chawanmushi is damn easy to make. You can make it on your own if you want.
For restaurant with nice ambience. You can go to Kampachi Pavillion. The chef there was great last time. We wanted something not on the menu and the chef made it for us anyway. It was croquette. Not something easy to make right off the bat cause you have to take some time to boil the potatoes. Another nice place is Tomoe Subang Jaya. Super good ambience and workers. Super expensive too. 200 for 2 enough for chawanmushi plus normal stuff. Premium stuff better shell out 400. Better order sake too. 14% alcohol. Get her drunk and ......=) just joking. Sake taste really good. |

I am not sure if it is the best but it is really good. I kinda like to have it with some steamed peas too. So far been twice for the chawanmushi and it has been good so far. Price is quite affordable too if you are on some sort of budget. |

QUOTE(mumeichan @ May 27 2009, 01:21 PM) If price not an issue, seriously go to Tomoe, Subang Jaya. Located opposite SJMC, same row with Rakuzen Subang Jaya. The row with many Jap restaurants. The food there is seriously EXCELLENT. When I went twice, majority of customer were not Malaysia but Japanese expats. thanks for ur suggestion, will try it when i back~ |

Behind city mall at Jalan Tun Razak. A small house renovated to become a restaurant. You'll have to ask around. I don't remember the restaurant's name, but it was the first time I've ever had chawanmushi that's even better that the ones I had in my 5-year stay in Japan. Reasonably priced, I think... Someone paid for my bill the last time I went there, so I don't know how expensive/cheap it is. AHH!! I got the restaurant name. Hajime restaurant. No. 64, Jalan Damai Off Jalan Tun Razak, 55000 Kuala Lumpur 03 2143 0073 Ambience: Cozy Price: Expensive. LOL! Chicken Teriyaki Set – RM38.00 Hotatei Ninniku -RM16.00 Black Spider Roll – RM18.00 Chawanmushi – RM12.00 Kurogoma Ice Cream – RM12.00 spicy sauce salmon tataki (RM32), Hotatei Ninniku (RM16), green tea chasoba (RM18), California Cheese Unagi Maki (RM26) and the Black Spider Roll (RM20), Beef with light wasabi sauce (RM24), Kurogoma (Black Sesame) Ice cream (RM12) Taken from: http://food.malaysiamostwanted.com/venues/...ln-tun-razak-kl This post has been edited by adachi7: Jul 10 2009, 12:39 PM |
