Amazingly lush.
Comes out and sees floating islands, they’re beautiful.
Says he has to search for everyone and JUMPS OFF THE ISLAND AND FREEFALLS to the island below.
Animation amazing, real sense of wind affecting his rubber body.
He runs through forest chased by alligator.
Then alligator is grabbed by Forest Octopus.
Cool music.
Praying mantis joins fray.
Mantis cuts of Octopus’ arms.
But long arm bear busts in and crushes the mantis and supplexes it. WOW
Luffy sits bewildered by display. Goes Gear 3rd, pistols the bear. KO.
After air escapes him he’s on top of Octopus and says it looks delish.
Brook, Robin, Franky together on beautiful Fall island.
Brook hears noise in ruins. ARMY ANTS!
Tiny but they ignore Brook and move for Franky and Robin. JUST THEN giant eel-like shark comes out of water!!!
Franky is already out of cola. What’s gonna happen?
Ants instead attack shark and eat it bone clean instantly. Franky realizes they were never going for Brook b/c he has no meat on him.
This pisses Brook off but we don’t know why. He does Yahazugiri. All ants die.
Reason he was pissed: “I wanted to drop a few pounds.”
BAM!!!!!!!! “ONE PIECE” floats up from watery background and the intro begins.
INSANE MUSIC AND COLOR!
Great character intros with name, bounty and job.
Ends with awesome shot of islands and STRONG WORLD that gets slashed.
Winter Island is where Nami is swimming. Alone.
Shiki comes out with Scarlet and Indigo. Dances to hero-style music, it’s crazy cool.
Shiki calls Nami ‘Baby-chan’
Indigo’s footsteps are farts.
Scarlet laughs and Shiki mistakes him for his mom (joke)
Nami thinks, “If only I hadn’t….”
ONE WEEK EARLIER
Towns in East Blue being destroyed mysteriously in newspaper.
Shiki’s ship appears.
Nami realizes bad weather coming.
Luffy tries to warn pirates.
Tone Dial floats down.
They realize whoever got it is probably strong.
Shiki’s weather team had no idea about storm.
When storm hits, Shiki seals his own people out of the hanger to avoid damage from the storm.
Shiki shoots leader of the weather team.
Shiki visits Strawhats.
Explains his fruits powers.
Can’t make living things fly.
Luffy decides to go back to EB to save the villages.
Shiki says he’ll take them there as thanks.
Brook and the stronger crew members say flying isn’t as scary as they thought and want it to be scarier.
Nami disagrees STRONGLY.
Shiki introduces the floating islands that make up Merveille.
Shiki attacks suddenly. Steals Nami.
Attacks crew with Sunny which spreads them apart.
End flashback
Indigo brings out Billy (who is still unnamed)
They explain about the IQ plant.
Allows for evolution
They used large quantities to make formula SIQ.
Made creatures evolve quickly and become violent.
At this point Nami has not agreed to be part of his crew.
Shiki mistakes Scarlet again.
SANJI AND USOPP on Spring Island.
Sanji keeps screaming for Nami.
Usopp shushes him because it will attract monsters.
Monsters come.
Sanji defeats them.
Sanji yells more.
And so on. Hilarity.
Blue tiger from preview shows up.Sanji takes it down: “Damn pussycat.”
OMIGOD KAMIKAZE MINI-BULLS
Grounds shatters beneath and they fall to what appears to be a summer island.
Xiao (whose name we don’t know yet) is heading somewhere in a winter location alone and cold clutching an IQ plant.
T-Rex comes to eat her. Zoro saves her.
Chopper rides a mammoth (awesome)
Zoro asks Chopper to give Xiao his fur coat to which he agrees and WAIT A MINUUUUTE.
Zoro has been leading Chopper for a week through the snowy terrain from which they can’t escape but thanks to Xiao’s guidance it turns out a summer zone is ‘Right over there’. ^o^
Sanji and Usopp are in a village. Everyone has feathers on their arms but they don’t seem to know why. Only older women and female children in village. People seem malnourished. Shiki watches over them with den-den mushi. Xiao explains about a certain plant (root?) called Daft Green.
Get it? IQ & Daft?
It’s a poisonous plant that causes a disease in humans if they inhale too much. Symptoms are green bruises. Eventually the person won’t be able to walk. The smell of the plants is unpleasant to humans but IMPOSSIBLE for animals to tolerate so they can’t go near them. This is how the village people are safe and how Shiki’s base is safe, they’re surrounded by them. Of course this is a problem for Chopper who stuffs his nose with cotton to be able to tolerate it.
Xiao wanted to save grandma from disease.
That’s why was carrying IQ plant. Was trying to gather and make antidote.
Zoro/Chopper & Usopp/Sanji meet at village
Sanji & Zoro in unison: Oh, it’s you.
Pirates gather. They realized it was Shiki rampaging in East Blue and want in on his plan.
Shiki has contract with villagers.
He uses their men for experiments. If he finishes, he will let men go and leave the islands alone.
NAMI ESCAPES! Found secret way out of pool. She leaves with Billy.
Falls into lake FILLED with sea creatures. Billy shocks them all and saves her.
Nami happens upon Sunny. JUST AS DOES LUFFY.
Their eyes meet. Luffy is happy to see her.
BUT HE’S BEING CHASED BY CRAZY SCORPIONS AND A LION
Luffy ignores them and runs towards Nami who he’s happy to see.
Nami freaks, “DON’T BRING THEM THIS WAY!”
But Billy defeats them all with electrity.
DO NOT f*** WITH BILLY
Nami changes clothes. Yummy hot pants.
Luffy names Billy.
They ride Billy and Billy doesn’t go far because Daft Green surrounds village. But they stuff his nose.
Everyone meets at village except Robin, Franky and Brook who are still wandering.
They’re riding Franky’s motorcycle he made from a crawfish: Zarrey Havidson(?) I forget exactly but play on Harley Davidson and zarigani (crawfish)
In dessert.
Come across a pirate feasting hall. These are the pirates gathering to work w/ Shiki.
One pirate recognizes them. Thinks they want in on Shiki’s plan. Says they aren’t dressed properly (setting up suit scene)
This is the ‘bar’ where Eva works.
Kitajima is here too.
Nami overhears Xiao says Shiki’s plan is to let ALL the animals go in East Blue and destroy it as revenge on Roger. From that point on he’ll work to overthrow the world. Xiao not knowing where Nami is from, wishes he would hurry up and go destroy East Blue and leave them alone.
Having seen her on den-den mushi, Shiki comes for Nami.
Very cool sunset setting by mountainside.
All the boys line up and tell Nami to stay away.
Battle ensues. Everyone pretty much gets a shot. He dodges most but eventually its too much and he suffers Chopper Roseo Metel
But he stops Sanji’s kick and is about to finish him when Luffy smacks into him and saves Sanji.
Shishi busts the ground open by levitating rocks.
Creates multiple charging lions from Earth.
Attack: Shishiodoshi
Luffy beats one with GG Cannon but there are too many. Sanji/Zoro Power Shoot. Usopp Atlas Suisei. Can’t read my note for Chopper.
Shiki traps them all in earth and twists it into a giant spire.
Nami touches her bracelet and remembers Nojiko.
Usopp is awake from the spire. He tells Nami not to think about it because Luffy won’t forgive her if she does. Nami realizes at this point, Shiki is holding a TREMENDOUS boulder over the already HUGE spire and willing to crush them all. Nami agrees to join him. Usopp begins to SCREAM at her but Shiki throws a boulder in his face and KO’s him. Nami says she’ll join.
Shiki says, “Huh? You’re joining?”
Basically forces her to plead with him, “Please let me join your crew.”
He agrees.
Shiki tells her that there’s respect even among pirates.
Allows her to leave message on Tone Dial for crew.
She does but we don’t hear.
He says it’s a good message.
Shiki’s people dispose of the Daft Green surrounding the village.
He intends to double cross them and kill them all.
The pirates in the hall enter Shiki’s ship and are to be flown up to his HQ.
Scarlet summons the animals to the village.
They gather.
Despite the weight of what’s going on. Indigo is eating mikans in a kotatsu in Shiki’s main operation room.
Nami comes out wearing the Strong World dress. The village is being ravaged. Nami says she isn’t interested and goes back to her room.
Franky, Robin and Brook arrive at the destroyed village.
The crew gathers.
Xiao and mother happen upon them. Xiao gives them Tone Dial she found.
It contains Nami’s message.
She says any attempt to come after her will only end in their death. LUFFY SCREAAAAAMS. In his anger he walks off and destroys a hill.
But the other crew members listen one more time and appear shocked to hear something that we don’t.
Shiki’s ship arrives at HQ and the pirates gather.
Indigo goes to mime something and….SHIKI UNDERSTANDS THE MIME FOR ONCE!
INDIGO IS ECSTATIC!
Turns out Nami was trying to set us up the bomb on the Daft Green around HQ.
Destroy Daft Green, then animals will destroy HQ.
She’s already turning green from inhaling so much Daft Green.
Shiki rubs her face on the plant and poisons her to the point she can’t move.
Shiki sets course for East Blue and he gathers the islands. VERY COOL.
Everyone is aboard Sunny. But don’t see them, just voices.
Franky does Coup de Burst and Sunny shoots to Shiki’s HQ.
Indigo pours sake. Immature and hilarious scene.
Sunny smashes straight into HQ.
They enter dramatically which Usopp screws up.
They fire off weapons.
Brook goes freaking nuts and it’s hilarious.
In the thick of battle, Luffy connects a punch with Shiki who escapes. Luffy follows.
Zoro pairs with Indigo but nothing significant seen.
Billy comes to save Nami who has been left to die among Daft Green.
Nami has plan.
Usopp and Chopper were sent to look for Nami.
Usopp rides Chopper, very cool.
Usopp sees sparks from Billy by Daft Green brush.
Billy attempts to ignite dynamite.
He does when Usopp and Chopper arrive. Everyone OK. How? Dunno. Kinda lame.
Animals start to diverge on HQ.
Animals wreak HAVOC in base.
Robin fights a poisonous moth and is weakened by it.
Scarlet happens upon her and is smitten.
Shiki battling Luffy makes Lion from snow.
Luffy goes Gear 2nd.
IT LOOKS KUH-RAAAAAAAZAY!
Jet Pistol connects with Shiki.
Luffy rides Billy.
Usopp and Chopper search for antidote.
Wander into Indigo’s lab. Find him in research office. Zoro shows up. They start to fight over antidote.
Idigo unleashes Chemical Juggling attack.
Cool in theory but looks weak and Zoro instantly whips out Asura and destroys him.
Sadly Anticlimactic.
Scarlet climbs a tower with Robin like King Kong.
Sanji sees this.
SANJI GO BOOM
Sanji runs up rope and instantly bashes aside some monkey minions. He reaches the top.
Does Devil Jambe and basically crushes Scarlet’s face sending him crashing down through the tower. Robin was sent flying. Sanji goes to leap and rescue her!
But Brook does first.
Sanji crash lands.
Hah.
Shiki splits a lake with attack: Zanpa (Cut Wave) and turns it into hovering floating bits with Luffy trapped in the middle and drowning.
He send Luffy flying.
Nami, being cured, senses weather change.
She forces the weather reporter man to report to Shiki false info about the storm and Shiki makes the islands fly INTO the yet unseen oncoming storm.
A bit of a blur what happens next, don’t have many notes because I was getting my camera ready.
Anyway, lightning starts cracking and Luffy, who came back with Billy’s help, goes Gear 3rd and sticks his foot into the thundering clouds, then brings it crashing down on Shiki who can’t believe he’s about to be done in a SECOND time by someone from EAST BLUE! Aaaaaaaaand BOOM!
Luffy’s foot crushes through island.
Shiki goes flying into the sea where he supposedly perishes or at LEAST loses control of his powers and the islands come crashing down sending the animals into the sea.
As for villagers, they actually learn that they could fly and the men are safe.
Luffy emerges safe from the clouds with Billy and joins everyone safely on Sunny who ironically are safely floating back to the sea thanks to Shiki’s pirate flag acting as a parachute of sorts.
Below Marines are there!
Looks like a Buster Call!
I recall 3 of the 5 BC VA’s there.
Onigumo actually has a line.
They think it’s Shiki but find out that it’s Luffy’s ship.
This is reported to Sengoku.
Sengoku: “So we were basically useless…”
PWNGOAT
Times passes
Usopp is onboard working on some kind of pineapple device.
They find the Tone Dial Nami left the message on.
Luffy is reminded and is PISSED at Nami.
The crew is puzzled, “Didn’t you hear the last part?”
Luffy wants to hear. Nami doesn’t want him to hear. Struggles for control of the Tone Dial and in the struggle it gets dropped into the sea.
But the full message is revealed to us.
The last thing Nami said was:
“…but come take me back.”
