QUOTE(feisal90 @ May 1 2009, 04:05 PM) i bought this laptop, Compaq CQ40-401AX from PC Fair last month. just depends on how you use it, if you don't use it for gaming, for what purpose you need that dedicated graphic?cost me rm2019 with 4GB ram. not bad I guess.. the problem with this laptop is that it's too hot! the battery won't last as long as Intel's laptop.. but it's good value for money.. the graphic card in the laptop is way better than the rubbish Intel GMA 4500HD.. |

i have tried Win 7 RC on my CQ40 Intel Platform, the interface is nice, performance not bad.
Pros Start-up RAM usage is around 520MB only. graphic, sound, LAN, power option, USB, are working without installing HP driver. Touch pad scroll not working(i have not installed the driver) Cons pop sound when i off my notebook, i think due to the sound driver. Maybe i need to install the HP driver. One more thing, if you want to install the Win 7 RC on your laptop, when at the completing stage, it will prompt to restart, eject your disc at that time. Otherwise you would end up getting few copies of windows in your notebook... LOL |

QUOTE(hasif63 @ May 20 2009, 12:35 PM) can the modem software connection be installed in vista? (im using vista ultimate) if your modem software has been configured, once you plugged in your LAN cable to the notebook, you already connected.tried many times with the cd provided but it never worked... cucuk the lan cable directly also no connection.. if your router has not been configured, you need to configure the settings first. |

QUOTE(hasif63 @ May 20 2009, 06:29 PM) that's not simple at all, it's better that you read the manual. on top of that i have never configured a DLink router, just read the manual and you will find the idea of how to deal with itanother better solution is.... go to Network ----> Broadband User to User section Added on May 21, 2009, 8:53 am QUOTE(ronzai89 @ May 21 2009, 08:38 AM) ya, depends on model. mainly from 1500 onwardsThis post has been edited by nothingz: May 21 2009, 08:53 AM |

QUOTE(hsienhsien @ May 29 2009, 08:32 PM) The dark webcam issue can be simply fix by clicking into the Microsoft Movie Maker application. Then, find the configuration for the webcam and adjust the brightness, saturation & hue as your wish. Exit Microsoft Movie Maker. Finally your're done!QUOTE(ic3rock @ May 29 2009, 10:33 PM) I bought mine at SG, the salesman told me, the warranty will extend after 3 months i bought the laptop. But i nt sure abt msia, u can try to call the shop keeper that u purchase ur laptop. 1 more thing is, u sure ur 2nd n 3rd yrs warranty is under HP Compaq or the shop warranty 1? not 3 months, i think is few weeks time. if yours is still not updated, better call HP to check. Now the customer service of Malaysia and Singapore are joint, you can just call the local toll free number to check it out(weekdays)Added on May 29, 2009, 10:36 pm Ok, thanks. But i haven try mine for gaming, urs is for gaming can last 1 hours+? |

microsoft movie maker is in your laptop, if i'm not mistaken.
try to search at your Start Menu or just download from websites. my CQ40 is formatted to Windows 7 RC, therefore not available anymore. Anyway, i think you can download it from the microsoft website. just use google to search |
