I don't think is value investing as price shouldn't jump so fast... Most like is goreng!!! Lately many ppl like to goreng especially those big players. Some may even borrow money for investing (since BLR is so low...)

Those big rock can be from Mr. Green as well.
Sometimes they can be buying and selling at the same time, what is their intention? only they know, can be fake to make it looks good to lure more anchovies into this stocks, or can be real for accumulation, nobody knows. |

Another hindsight 'prognosticator. They are really in the pay of the share and blue whale. The silver lining I first wrote on this forum may indeed brighten up and the cloud is shrinking. The stress test result is not out yet.
HwangDBS Vickers Research believes that the worst of the demand destruction for KNM Group Bhd is over, given the sustainable crude oil price at about US$50 (RM180) per barrel on the back of production cuts by the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec), as well as an expected stronger economy in the second half (2H) of the year. The oil and gas equipment manufacturer secured only RM300 million new orders since December last year and recent orders were mainly from upstream projects in the Middle East (50%) and North America (50%), the research house said in a report yesterday. Nevertheless, there had not been project cancellations since the RM85 million worth of projects in February, comprising mainly the RM77 million Canadian oil sand project, it added. “We expect minimal project cancellation for KNM’s RM3.9 billion order book and new contracts from its RM18 billion tender book to flow through from 3Q09 onwards as we understand that oil majors have started to call for tenders of projects under 2009 capex,” it said. “We assume RM1 billion and RM2.5 billion new contract wins for FY09 to FY10; and new wins account for 28% and 68% of our FY09 to FY10 net profit, respectively. We believe risk of earnings downside is priced in given attractive valuation at five times FY10 price earnings (PE), against local and regional peers’ average of six times and 12 times, respectively.” Meanwhile, as KNM has refinanced its short-term loan and reclassified the intangible assets, there is minimal risk on the Borsig acquisition, according to HwangDBS. It expected Borsig to contribute 35% of KNM’s FY09 net profit. In view of the “attractive” risk-reward profile, the research house has upgraded KNM to a buy with a target price of 85 sen based on eight times FY10 earnings per share, in anticipation of new order flows. “KNM should benefit from an upswing in equity markets given its high beta of 1.7 times and good liquidity. NTA low is ok if the company is perennially profitable, needing no significant capital base to support biz growth. Chinalife's fate is dependent on share performance. I think the same goes to MAA, which is why it is rising. Insurance company cheats your money and invest it yo make return higher than the 1%effective return they pay policy holders as a whole.

If keep buying maybe 1 month they can sapu 100% of KNM issued share capital liao... So they sell some to take profit lah.... Its okay mah, buy expensive, sell more expensive lah Also, if keep buying, then when selling damn jia lak rite??? So buy 100 lots, then sell 80lots, buy 100lots, sell 80lots again, so on so forth The last batch will be easy to let go without price plunging lor... Ramunia was exceptional. Congrat to you guys. I was too busy the whole day. Only now I have time. In retrospect my preferred counters given low valuation like Mulpha is doing very well.
The first round was construction: WCT, muhibah, Bjcorp Second round was steel: kinsteel, LionIndustries Third round: MAA, Ramunia, SAAG I could have jumped in and got out today on mulpha early morning but this is the cost I have to pay. No regret as I have earlier on positioned accordingly for long run already. You guys enjoy the ride. |

Ramunia is loss-making, so is mulpha. The same goes to Kinstel, MAA, Tebrau. Wow, only KNM is profit-making among the hot counters. Mulpha has the best fundamentals and most attractive as it is still below 50sen. EPF needless to say knew Najib wil have further news of liberalisation coming out. By the time the last piece of news comes out, EPF would have halved its activities and continue modestly on those who fundamentals can stil drive the share higher.

Slumbergher's profits dropped by 30% only, not too bad. My friend bought Lingui at 3.50 then it dropped to 60sen. I think now 70 sen plus. He llikes Landmark also. I do not quite like either. Actually I quite like Maybulk at 2.80 but it is facing possible additonal tax on deemed income from interest-free loan between companies within same group. Never touch transmile. When oil moves up, Airasia's rise is limited. So it MAS. Oil is likely to trade highest about 65 by 2H of 09. Airlines are still ok for this year. Added on April 25, 2009, 1:20 amMK land is very bad in managing project. Its tie-up with talam on certain projects also failed. Satang is also dangerous. My long-term view is USD will come down in coming months and years. That is the only reason why I dared not touch US shares though upsides are there. Currency risk is a bit high now that USD is very high. Next week, BNM may cut interest rate again. If that happens, another round of goreng. It will be great if that happens as cost of borrowing of corporations will come down further. For bull or mini-bull market, what I watch up for is the theme play !
This week, the theme play seems to be "Iskandar State development". Related stocks are UEMLand, Tebrau & Mulpha. All have huge land bank in the area! Due to the abolition of 30% bumi quota, analysts speculate this policy will lure foreign investment to invest in Iskandar project ! that's why these stocks are quite hot recently... might still have legs to run ! "Construction" already finished one round ... "Oil & Gas" theme not quite there yet ... some rally, some not yet .. as no catalyst to fry them to 2007-2008 highs ! Next week rumoures further liberisation in Finance sector ... watch out for insurance sector ? (I admit I am not good in that ) "property" could be the sleeping giant !! AS most share price is so under value vis-a-vis their asset in property !! I believe people do not care much about PER & DY during bull market. kb, our CKC sifu is a fundament analyst, not a technical analyst.
So the best advice from him is that the intrinsic value that he's calculated for KNM is between 0.55 to 0.70. Anyway, I trust fundamental analysis more than technical analysis too, so irregardless of how the market moves, most important is always have in mind the intinsic value of the company so that u can always compare against the current price. Liberalisation is just an excuse for syndicate to goreng share only.
Its effect is long term basic, which we won't able to see any effect of change in short term. After all, the foreign interest qouta on certain industry and certain company is not reach its max in certain company. See how much foreign shareholding in Maybank, AMMB etc already show they haven't reached or still far off its max/limitation set by gov. No doubt the liberalisation move is a good move, thumb up for that. |

What I predicted came quite true though I was not free to watch every minute. Every upswing is larger than downswing even though volatility persists. The volume yesterday was highest since 07 Oct. Wow, that is quite unbeliebvable. The exuberance is understandable as Kucing points out as most shares have been whacked out of recognition.
The high volume is in large part due to 0.15% ultra-low brokerage for intra-day trading. If you ask around, Msia has never known to be a vibirant economy. Liberalisation policy is mean to to dispel this jinx. But UMNO malay rhetoric may come back and pander to nationalism and narrow racial views once again. Liberalisation needless to say is very good as it gives room for meritocracy to work. Iskandar is a good concept as it can piggyback on Singapore. But singapore is in bad shape too. I do not mind buying land in Iskandar but it is notorious for crime and Johor UMNO ultras. If you look at Tebrau's financial statements, they are quite scary. I do not look at details. The key is to check if their land is stated at revalued or cost. If revalued, when was the last revaluation done to gauge how much of market value its balance sheets have reflected. To maximise gains, you have to monitor every minute like Teewan, vhonda as market pulse and pattern gives you hints what is cooking every hour or day. If you travel around, you will find people say Msia is set back by 20 years due to corruption and incomptabile economic policies. When you speculate and do trading, you look at momentum, theme and market mood.
When you see buying shares as buying a part of the biz owned by the company, you look at its biz model. It is easy to start any biz, but sustaining and growing it is much more difficult, much less to build a global brand out of it. Again, part 1 tells you when to buy and sell, and part 2 tells you which price is great value, which is fair value. The best is to combine both. It can make you a lot of money, do doubt about it. Any misstep can lose you a fortune also. That is why people need to work. What I saw yesterday was the best since Aug 07 to Nov 07 period. I think we will continue to see penny counters very active in next 2 weeks till Najib announces sth on finance sector liberalisation. Roation play is likely as some counters have overshot their earnings potentials and are consolidating together with blue chips. Last Friday saw even the quiestest of counters are moving somewhat. That is a very good sign.
But if the swine flu spreads, I will buy on dips especially overseas shares. |

As we already know, many of the countries in the world already taking drastic actions to try to contain this outbreak.
Also, so far the detected strain has a cure. My guessing at this (early) moment is that this should be contained within a week, since a cure is widely available, and many countries already have experience in such containment action. Probably this is the reason for the huge negative US futures??? |

Analysts 2 months ago focused on the dark cloud, now silver linings. But essentially, nothing has changed much about KNM. Its intangible assets were explained as such when announcement first came out. They needed time to sort it out. Now they have sorted it into licence, trade mark as separate from goodwill. But both are still intangible assets. Suddenly, they said there is no issue with these intangible assets anymore. that is why i never bought unit trust.

Bought back during the leak @0.545 this morning. LoL.. my strategy is to move all in or all out! Objective: To not lose capital and be able to accumulate more KNM stocks for the long run. |

Tide is receding in Msia but it is not hard to sense the nascent recovery. If you want to buy at best price, you probably can wait. I am very busy during office hours and thus can only buy on a longer term basis. The afternoon drop was really bad. But that is the fun, you can buy in at lower price.

I did not monitor the shares today but knew it is a good reason to sell down shares on H1N1. My company also just issued new shares to raise capital. The scarcest thing in the past 1 year is capital. I think the tide is changing.
My relative is still working late as normal. When KNM's biz was very good, staff worked till they literally fought as the work seemed never ending and not enough hands to do the work. But then the company is very stingy on increment. Added on April 29, 2009, 12:31 amEPF sold some 5m KNM shares. 9.65% shareholding. You guys will go to KNM AGM on 24 June 09? Sometimes it is not whether you're thinking right or not,
but what the whole market thinks about this swine flu. Even if it is a passing event, if the market thinks it is bad, its bad for you and your shares. I somehow knew the EPSharks were behind the sellings today. Ask yourself, if you were EPShark, why not?? Push down gao gao, then only perk up high high. They also give in to market trend. I was on my flight to HK in SARS days when only 2 people died on my arrival at HK. Many wore fask mask on flight but I did not. The flu then spread wildly in Guangdong. Life is more important shares. KNM to see re-rating, says HLG Research
HLG Research noted that KNM’s share price had risen 69% since it upgraded KNM’s rating on March 17. Meanwhile, the share prices of KNM’s global peers have risen by 50% to 60% since the beginning of April, it added.
